Chapter 184: Into The District, We Go
Arc 3, Chapter 184 —Into The District, We Go

So strong...
The ball on Levon’s throat rolled up and down when seeing the ease with which Winhest opened the gates. He didn’t even touch, but simply waved lazily before it. Yet the energy generated from his seemingly empty wave that traveled towards the center between both sides.
They saw it manifest between their very own eyes, swimming between the crevices like magical mist. And then—whoosh!
The pressure sent both sides flying open.
Levon kicked his eyes sardonically.
Well, he needed help badly.
Why? Because right at this very moment, his devilish thoughts gave him the urge to fight Winhest again and again, no matter the consequence.
Levon found himself breathing heavily like a cow the longer he stared at Winhest’s silhouette. But it wasn’t just him. The way several people looked at Winhest, you would think they held lust for him in their eyes.
Desire... an addictive wave of desire continuously built up in their systems the more they watched the doors open.
Fufufufufufu~
Winhest was amused but said nothing about their strange eyes.
"Let this be your first golden lesson in Open Blood Line Territory..." he began. "For measly weaklings such as yourselves, the gates in ALL districts will open at 6 AM to 11 AM, and 4 PM to 10 PM."
In other words, these are the times they can stroll in and out with ease.
’If I’m not mistaken, Staff should be the ones to open and close these gates during these times. So if we’re returning from missions and being chased, we have to take cover for ourselves until the opening hours.’ Levon nodded thoughtfully. ’It seems that the only way out will be if we can open the gates ourselves... Interesting...’
The more Levon thought of it, the more intrigued he became.
Obviously there are exceptions to all rules. If the mission they’re carrying out is too important and needs to be reported Asap, Levon was sure the gates will somehow open up.
Perhaps even now as they stood here, there were countless eyes watching them—eyes that will either ignore or become attentive to them once they approach the gates or the walls.
Wow!!
Shugo and several others felt their jaws drop when staring at the vast land that was enclosed within the majestic walls.
"Hey, this district 57 sure is big.... It was like 3 major cities combined into one!"
"Right! There are towers that look like wizard towers, and structures I swear don’t exist in the outside world."
"This... just where the heck are we?"
When moving along the wide cobblestone roads the group murmured their thoughts and enquiries about the place.
There were Bloodrens of all ranks here, and official Slayers in the mix too.
"Watch where you’re going, bastard!"
"Dammit, to be touched by a newbie.... I feel sick."
The disgust from the passersby was evident. They looked at them as though looking at a pile of manure from a diseased, dying old man. Their faces were scrunched but aggressive when lashing out to Levon’s group.
After spending so much time here, everyone knew what these terms meant.
Bloodrens refer to those without official ranks—these are warriors of the church that are still in the training.
From Bloodren 10 to Bloodren zero, they are all warriors of the church in training. And only after graduating from Bloodren Zero, can they become Officials of the church... known to some as Slayers.
They become official Slayers, going out on missions without supervision.
It was as simple as that.
Amid the gathering of passersby they saw a mix of Bloodrens and official Slayers heading towards various destinations.
Levon looked around and found it incredulous to see structures such as taverns, training halls, blacksmithing halls and so on available.
Several people headed to the blacksmithing sites to get their broken weapons fixed, or buy new merchandise. There were farmers available, beast cultivators... you name it. They swore this place was swarming with hundreds, thousands and maybe millions of people. So who can tell them what the hell was going on here?
"You didn’t expect it, didn’t you?" Seeing through their confusion Winhest grinned. "I’ll give you all a little history lesson, one you probably won’t hear of again... for starters, the world itself has a crack running up its ass."
Levon’s eyes flickered. ’That must be the veil Villeta spoke of... the veil that tore through the fabric of reality, allowing the first vampire to flee from hell and bring carnage to the human world.’
"The veil has boundless land running in a jagged line from the north pool to the south pool, and from the south pool back to the broth again." Winhest continued.
"That said, 79% of this land is what we call the Mutuals. It simply means that in open land b humans and vampires can run into each other."
"Then there are places called the Inhabitables—places that the vampires would dare not build their base in. These places have been touched with a heavenly aura."
"The Inhabitables account for only 4% of the entire Blood Line. Thus, the Church’s Main factions and headquarters are all built in these places.
"Now, that brings us to the remaining 17% of land left... what we called the Habitable."
"57% of this 17 belong to the Church... And unfortunately, the vampires own 43%."
"And so, my young dragon flies .. we are always at work with those who try to colonize our turfs."
Winhest paused, chuckled wickedly. "Well, we too do the same... there’s no denying that."
"I see..." Several people finally understood why the Order had such an incredulous gathering land never discovered before.
"Instructor Winhest..." Artilla frowned. "The place we’ve been staying in... is on protected Holy Inhabitable land?"
"No." Winhest stated. "It’s on Habitable land, meaning that one day, we could be at siege with the enemy..." Just like the Order of the Blue nuns. Winhest inwardly added.
Still, getting into their turf would be a pretty hard job to do. Don’t blame them for being overly cocky, but they had one of the strongest defenses amongst all 12 Orders.
Again, one shouldn’t look down on the overall Habitable lands the Church owns.
One must never forget that the Blood Line is 1.75 MILLION Kilometers around the world, and also 73 thousand Kilometers wide.
Now you do the math of what 9.69% of that is.
Do you know that they own enough land that can be out together to form a small planet?
...
Everyone listened with Relish and a little intrigue when knowing that none of the 12 Order headquarters were on Holy Land.
It seems that apart from the 12 Orders, the Church also had different Power forces and supreme hierarchies higher than the Order’s ranking ability.
Thus, those places cemented themselves on Holy Lands.
Levon felt something scratch his inners when getting a glimpse into the hierarchical power of the Church.
Ih was amazing, wasn’t it?
Another thing that made Levon fall, were Winhest’s next words.
"When a member has only 300 years of life remaining, they must partially-retire and settle in any of the district’s within the Habitable lands."
"It is these people who open taverns and so little businesses for the Church’s good."
Many actually dive into research, like cultivating special clams that transmit messages, or even creating strange creatures many felt were out of the ordinary.
They also did a lot more underneath the veils of light that many were not privy to know about. All in all, partial-retirement was a thing in the order. But all that had nothing to do with Levon and several others now.
Standing before a peculiar building, their hearts shot up up the roof with one question replaying in a loop in their minds.
Department 1... Department 3?... Department 4... Where they go determines their fates forever.
So which will they end up being assigned to in the end?
Stepping through the heavy oak doors, a wave of eerie warmth and bustling energy completely washed over the group.
Sunlight streamed through the towering arched windows, splashing golden light across the polished brown wooden floorboards.
Squinting his gaze, Levon could see tiny specks of dust dancing in the Evans of light like tiny stars.
The air hummed with the mingling sounds of others murmuring in heavy conversation.
Levon’s eyes flickered when he recalled the words on the Plaque outside the building.
{ Registration Union }
The words were simple enough for even a dodo to grasp.
The main hall stretched wide and open, with soaring ceilings held in place by thick beams of wood carved with ancient allure.
"Buddy, it looks like this place is really popular." Shugo muttered when seeing the flood of people inside.
Looking around, one could see at least 160 circular wooden tables with Bloodrens seated in deep conversation.
Some were silent, as though waiting for something, while others closed their eyes in deep ’sleep.’
—And yet, Levon could taste the power in the air.
