I Will Survive Till The End: Blood Extermination Academy-Chapter 183: Welcome to District 57
Chapter 183: Welcome to District 57
Arc 3, Chapter 183—Welcome to District 57
.
.
They say the Future is always bright... bright enough for those with an iota of sense to grasp every opportunity and clues their way.
Winhest’s revelation did much more than cause a jab to the hearts of many.
Indeed, the purpose of the Phase 2 competitions have been staring them in the face all along.
During the 4 day trip, they worked together, distributing responsibilities and proving they could be flexible if the Order demanded it.
When out on missions, they might have to work with others, some stronger and some weaker. Many times, they might also have to curb their arrogance just to get the job done.
Comparing the people in the Pink side to those in the Purple, one could see the difference between them.
The pink has less casualties, because they worked together in the Cabins. While purple has more, because they only looked out for their individual teams... allowing a majority of those in the weaker groups to perish.
In fact, some even threw these weaker people towards the ghouls as shields during battle.
That’s right, everything they did was captured and transmitted to those overseeing the examinations.
On the Pink’s side, only 2 cabins had casualties... losing 1 person each. But for the Purple side, ALL Cabins had lost 3~8 people... during the 4 day trip.
You have to ask yourself who would be satisfied sending out such reckless Bloodrens on missions?
In the end, they were not being sent back because they didn’t protect the weak.
No... they were sent back because they couldn’t read between the lines, jeopardizing their ’collective’ mission as a whole.
...
Listening to the conversations of those from the Pink side, several Bloodrens on the Purple side now had pale faces.
They understood... They understood why they lost... But... but... why didn’t those in the Pink side let them know earlier on?!!!!! ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
They looked at those on the Pink side, as though marking their faces for Revenge.
"—" [The Pink side]
Who can you blame for your stupid brains?
Well, many in the Purple were not happy.... And a little shocked too. Even those who arrived from the Old train and still failed, were taken aback..
For some of them, this was their 3rd, 4th and even 5th times taking the Bloodren Phase 2 examinations. But no one has ever told them why they failed.
Usually, they would just end up being bundled up and sent back without another word from the instructor.
Only Winhest had managed to say a thing. But even if he did, who said the Phase 2 examinations were always the same?
Last year, it was on foot after they were dropped off in a snowy mountain. They had to make their way here.
A year ago, it was all underground. Things change, and perhaps even the test itself changes. This year, they just happened to test Group unity and compatibility with others. ... Who knows what they will test out next year?
Nevertheless, the end goal has always been the same: Can you read between the lines? Can you understand the simple Orders given to you?
Heh. Winhest let out a cold chortle, flicking his fingers softly. "It seems you’ve finally gotten your answer. But although I’m in a good mood, it doesn’t mean I’m not without temper."
Swish~
Almost immediately, a random half of the Purple population had one side of their purple papers turned black.
"Those with black ends, will get 2 and half years of punishment added."
WHY?!!!!!
Those with black paper sides now felt regret hit them like a bullet. In other words, they can only take the Phase 2 competitions 3 years later?
Now they wished to smack their former selves to death for daring to question Winhest earlier. Wasn’t it just better to hop on the train and go back in peace?
One must remember that only a random half were puished. The other half suddenly looked towards the heavens, thanking their lucky stars for shielding them from the random selection.
Well, these ones were the quickest to get on board the old broken down train. They even looked as though they wished to fly away from Winhest before he said another word.
That’s it... Lesson learnt.
They zipped their mouths, knowing there was nothing one could do to change Winhest’s verdict pronouncing them as Failures. Soon, the train made a U-turn, taking them through the same route it came from... which means one thing: FIGHT!
Once again, they will have to go through 4 days of Ghoulish battling. But how was that any of Winhest’s concern?
Looking at the remaining gathering of 377, Winhest first inspected their tokens.
No token, no entry, meaning immediate disqualification. Fortunately, they all had their tokens, or else they would have to walk back now that the trains were gone.
With that, Winhest led them towards the Majestic grand gates ahead.
—District 57.
Those were the words on the gates.
"My, my, my... what a beauty." Victorio spoke out, shocking everyone. When was the last time they heard this guy’s voice? Some swore he only spoke once a month or once in 2 months.
Victorio looked around. It’s always fun centering the new Turf.
Can you feel it?... Can you feel the electricity in the air?
Standing before the grand gates that shot up to the heavens, everyone was relaxed and unfazed.
POP!
Shugo blew bubblegum, Yimu looked at her nails, and Rita flickered her toothpick a long her fingers.
Hendrix slowly closed the book in his hand, while seated on the shoulders of Payne Ignier who stopped doing push ups and rose to his feet without dropping Hendrix off.
Florianna was asleep, Rayna kept teasing Artilla, and the many special old 10s like Bloomingdale, Batista, Redclar, and Gorgendoyle, all chuckled with a devilish breath.
Well now, they’ve all been waiting for this moment for so long...
From now on, they will no longer be Partial Bloodren 10s, but official ones eligible to take on missions.
Unravelling a lollipop from its packet, Levon slowly closed his eyes to enjoy its delectable strawberry taste. Then, with his hands in his pockets, he tilted his head lazily. "Official, huh?... It feels good."
The gates ahead looked like they were made from hell itself. They were dark, ominous, and sturdy with all sorts of marks that told terrifying tales and history.
Winhest’s head never turned and still faced forward. Yet his pupils moved with a dangerous side eye that observed the countenance of those behind him.
"Well now, go on?... Open it."
It was unfathomable how a few words could make the atmosphere change. It was a trap, no doubt about that. But knowing what sort of sick Instructor they have, if someone doesn’t two forward, this guy might have them stay out here all day.
Levon rolled his eyes and was just about to volunteer, when he suddenly caught sight of a volunteer he least expected.
... Victorio again?
It wasn’t just Levon taken aback. Everyone felt they were dreaming when seeing Victorio shuffle to the front.
Winhest’s eyes speaker when seeing one of his top students. He had to admit that since Victorio stepped into the Order’s grounds, he has yet to make a single mistake.
No punishments, no slacking... nothing. He always came out on top.
Despite all eyes on him, Victorio didn’t flinch. After reaching the front, he stared at the gates for a while.
No one knew what he thought. Soon, he closed his eyes and touched the door.
It might look as though he wasn’t doing anything. But everyone knew he must be using the Origin Breathing technique to channel his shard’s power through his veins and to fingertips and palms.
He was clean doing something, since even the air around him had picked up tremendously, blowing his hair upwards.
Grass stalks a distance away also rustled from the circular wave of wind forming around Victorio. Yet... Nothing Happened.
The gates were as sorry as the planet itself refusing to move out of orbit.
Victorio’s overly long flashes fluttered like a sleeping beauty. He opened his eyes, his gaze fixed at the double sided gate: one side of the gate stretched out for 28 feet, as did the other.
That was how terrifying in length the double-sided gates spanned. And one shouldn’t even begin to think of how towering the gates were too. It was no wonder they thought it was a castle wall.
Looking at its length and height, there was no doubt that its width would also be incredibly thick. And so you actually expect a normal human being to push open these gates without any supernatural assistance?
No... it seems that even with the use of Shards, they won’t be able to open these gates with their current strengths.
Everyone clenched their fists, feeling a wave of fighting power flood their brains.
Weak...
This was a reminder that they were still too weak!!!!
