I transmigrated and got a husband and a son!-Chapter 1212: Clutch
Chapter 1212: Clutch
Every explosion in the mansion was another reason for Dominic to speed up. He knew his wife was still inside that mansion, and even if she managed to get out, he needed to make sure she was fine.
But the sliver of hope he was holding on to immediately disappeared when Joker’s voice suddenly came through his intercoms.
"Hey!! Hey!! Anyone close to the mansion!?" Joker’s voice was urgent and shaky, a tone he never used even when he was in danger himself. "Get in the mansion now and get her out of there!? Do you hear me!? Get in there now! There’s still three exits — damn it!"
Dominic’s brain went blank for a moment, but his entire body knew where he needed to be right now. Without thinking, he drove at the fastest speed he could, but it still somehow felt it wasn’t enough. He felt too slow.
"Dominic!"
Suddenly, Dominic heard a yell from his side. He barely cast the other rider a look, but he immediately recognized Tiger.
Dominic didn’t need to see the look on Tiger’s face because he could tell by the sound of the man’s voice.
"On your —"
Dominic raised his rifle to his left and took down the person aiming at him. With the rifle still clumped in his grip, he rested it on the handle and maneuvered it straight up the hill.
"Joker, can you hear me!?" Dominic shouted. "Tell me her whereabouts — tell me exactly where she is and which way that isn’t blocked yet!"
BOOM!
Seeing that Dominic was unstoppable, Tiger focused on driving his way to the mansion. Just now, Joke’s voice was heard in their earpieces. But even before that, the second the mansion exploded, he knew Hera was still in there.
Initially, Tiger wasn’t that worried because there had been an explosion in the mansion previously. But when another one was heard and was followed by another one, Tiger and Moose stole the bikes where they were and rushed to the mansion. Hearing Joker’s call was simply an added worry to their already skyrocketing anxiety.
While the two raced to the mansion, those behind and were still fighting also heard Joker screaming Mayday! Joker was using all his intellectual tech prowess to call for help.
"Hera!" Nigel, one of those who received the signal, perked up. He shot the man who had been holding him off, turning to anyone at his side. "Hey!"
"We’re on it!" the man he cast a look yelled back and nodded at another group. "Group 1 gather in the mansion ASAP! The mansion is collapsing and Hera Cruel is still inside! Get her out of her! I repeat!"
The man spoke through his small telecom attached to his chest, sending more signals to those around the area. They were the closest to the mansion and thus, they knew they had to respond quickly. However, because they weren’t the only ones Joker connected with, their enemies tried to hold them off.
"Hera..." Nigel took down another person and saw that their enemies were much more fierce now that they knew Hera was in danger.
They didn’t even bother thinking about Florence. All they wanted to was win this endless and unnecessary war.
Nigel clenched his teeth and quietly took steps back. He still engaged in a fight if it arose, but he focused on mainly retreating. The Group 1 was still being held off by the enemies. Hence, Nigel knew at least someone or two should leave this battlefield to rescue Hera.
He cast a few men from the other group a look, and they quickly understood the signal. Their enemies were focusing on Group 1, trying to stop Hera’s help. If so, they should do it themselves.
With that thought in mind, a few of them slowly slipped away from the battlefield at their own discretion. A few enemies caught them in the act, but they were silenced before they could open their mouths.
As Nigel and the very few men managed to sneak away, they caught two raging motorbikes heading up the hill. Although the riders were fast and would reach the mansion in no time, Nigel knew they still had to do something.
Again, an explosion was heard, snapping everyone’s attention to the mansion.
"We have to..." he trailed off as he caught this big shadow sprinting up the hill barefoot! He squinted, but could barely see through the smoke that had already turned to fog around the hill. All he knew was that it was like a giant speeding through the mansion.
"Hey!" Nigel called the person, only to be ignored.
Not surprised that his yell was easily missed, he turned to the men with him. "Head to the mansion and use the secret passage. One of you will stay behind. Let anyone who came to Hera’s rescue know about the secret passage!"
"Yes!"
Without wasting a breath, the men rushed to the mansion and headed to the secret passage Nigel was talking about. Most of the people in the group were captains of their own unit. Therefore, they knew exactly what Nigel was talking about.
Meanwhile, Nigel rushed to the figure who was climbing the hill with both his feet. Even those motorbikes would find it hard to get up the slope without proper knowledge or experience. Yet, this person was acting like a superhuman, as if the slope was not a problem at all.
"Hey!" Nigel called once more when he was close to the figure.
Much to Nigel’s dismay, a spark instantly came from the figure shooting him down. Fortunately, Nigel was on high alert and rolled to the ground. When he pulled his body up, he caught the figure resuming and was about to reach the surface where he was.
"I’m not an enemy!" he shouted as soon as he caught the figure leap to reach the surface. At this point, Nigel could only assume this person had the genes of a gorilla! "I’m asking you if you came to rescue Hera! I know a way!"
Finally, the figure stopped. Nigel flinched as he caught the silhouette turning his head in his direction. He gulped when the person’s eyes gleamed red, watching the latter approach in his direction.
The person’s strides were big and fast, and in a matter of two seconds, Nigel felt a giant hand grab his collar. A pistol was slipped in between his mouth, leaving a painful scratch on his lips. With shaky eyes, Nigel slowly gazed up at the elderly beast gazing down at him as if he was ready to tear him into pieces.
"Take me there," said Bear under his breath. "Now. Or you’ll pay for wasting ten seconds of my life."
