I Shall Cuck Everyone-Chapter 418: Crazy Werewolf
It filled his room like fog, curling around his legs, swirling along the walls and ceiling. The atmosphere thickened, charged with energy, like the seconds before a lightning strike.
Then, without a sound—the masked figure appeared.
She stood in the center of his room, completely still. Her long hoodie covered her from head to thigh, shadowed and nondescript, and the same strange wooden mask obscured her face, its carved features smiling faintly. Unlike before, she didn't radiate her terrifying presence. In fact, she seemed to be actively suppressing it. But even without that overwhelming aura, the scent of her kind—the earthy, musky smell of werewolf—was unmistakable.
Jake slowly lowered the flute. "You came."
The masked woman tilted her head slightly, her voice calm and almost amused beneath the mask. "I didn't think you'd make up your mind this early. Especially not without evolving your vampire body to the warlock stage."
She stepped closer, her boots silent on the wooden floor. "You do realize how reckless that is, don't you?" she said. "Have you actually thought this through?"
Jake met her gaze—or where he assumed her eyes were behind the mask. "I have," he said firmly. "I've been waiting for the right moment. And I don't think evolving to the warlock stage is going to change anything for me."
She stood still, letting his words hang.
Jake continued, "Besides, I've got something else. A catalyst. It's not conventional, but it'll make up for the power gap."
The masked woman gave a small, low hum. "A catalyst?" She turned slightly, as if considering. "I see… you've been planning ahead. I like that."
She walked slowly toward his desk, idly brushing her fingers over a closed book without reading the title. "Unfortunately," she said, with a mock sigh, "I'm on vacation right now. Just started last week. And let me tell you, it's been amazing," she said with excitement.
Jake blinked. "Vacation?"
She nodded. "Mhm. Haven't had one in years. No raids, no full moons, no fighting gods. Just good wine, juicy human food, and no emergencies." She leaned back against his wall with exaggerated comfort. "So… I'm not exactly in the mood to do overtime."
Jake frowned. "You're saying I summoned you from your time off?"
"Exactly." She gave a light laugh. "Rude, isn't it?"
"I didn't know you took time off. You didn't tell me about all this," Jake muttered.
"Of course I do. I'm not a machine." Her tone was dry with sarcasm. "Anyway, you'll have to wait, honey. When my vacation ends, I'll contact you."
Jake crossed his arms. "How long is your vacation?"
She made a vague gesture. "Another week or two. Maybe three. Depending on how bored I get."
Jake opened his mouth to protest, but then paused. Something about the way she was looking at him—or rather, the subtle tilt of her mask—made it clear she'd already made up her mind.
Still, he asked, "At least tell me what to expect. Afterward. What happens when I take that step?"
But before the words fully left his lips, the woman's form began to dissolve.
"Wait—!"
She didn't speak but Jake could hear her giggle. Her entire body evaporated into a swirling cloud of silvery mist, curling upward and vanishing through the open window in less than a second. No sound, no wind, not even the faintest echo of her presence remained.
Jake stood still, blinking at the empty space where she had just been.
He slowly lowered his arms. "…What the hell?"
The flute still sat in his hand, cold once again. The aura in the room was gone, sucked away like it had never been there in the first place. Even the night breeze had stilled. free𝑤ebnovel.com
Jake closed the window and sat back on his bed, staring at the spot where the masked woman had been standing.
He turned the flute over in his hands.
Vacation.
Jake didn't know what was more ridiculous, that a powerful Protoss
like him had a vacation policy… or that he had to wait for it to end before continuing with whatever twisted journey he was now part of.
Still, if she said she'd return, he believed her.
He leaned back on the bed and stared at the ceiling.
Jake's mind whirled with questions and half-formed thoughts. He needed answers, connections, and understanding. And for that, there was someone he could always count on.
He took a breath. "Mimi," he called softly.
A spark of light burst into the air above him, glittering like a tiny star. A second later, a small, winged form emerged from it, twirling once in the air before settling into a slow hover in front of his face.
Mimi, in her miniature fairy form, stretched her arms and blinked blearily. "Mmmm… you called, Master?"
Jake smirked at her laziness. "You were napping in my head again."
"Of course I was! It's warm and quiet there!" she huffed. Then her eyes widened, and she suddenly buzzed in a circle above his head. "Wait, wait, wait! That woman just now—she was so rude! Who even is she, barging in like that, then disappearing without a proper goodbye?!"
Jake chuckled. "Yeah… that's kind of her thing."
Mimi floated back down, her wings fluttering like silk in the air. "Seriously, Master—what is she? I don't like her. She has no manners. Like, if you're going to be creepy and powerful, at least say goodbye before you vanish into smoke. She also smells tasty," Misty drooled.
Jake folded his arms and looked at her. "What do you think about what she said? About the other Protoss existing?"
Mimi's pout deepened, her cheeks puffing out in indignation. "Now you ask me?" She twirled in the air and turned her back to him. "Why didn't you ask for my opinion earlier, huh? I'm full of useful knowledge and cute to boot. But nooo… you just go around talking to a creepy werewolf woman and leave your own companion in the dark."
Jake let out a low laugh and scratched the back of his neck. "I'm sorry. There's just… i have a lot on my mind."
"Hmph," she said, peeking over her shoulder, though she was already starting to forgive him. "Well… you should've led with that."
She turned to face him again, her arms crossed. "Honestly, I don't know everything about those people—Protoss, or whatever name they go by now. But based on my memories? That woman… she was talking about you, you know."
Jake raised an eyebrow. "Me?"
