Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 1353: Tribulation and War
Chapter 1353: Tribulation and War
She had been looking for an opportunity to test her strength, and now, a worthy opponent had appeared so soon.
"An early Body Integration stage cultivator?" She turned to Yeom Hwaun. "They must think quite highly of you, sending an early Body Integration stage cultivator just to deal with you. Are you that important?"
Yeom Hwaun’s face turned pale with fear.
There was an early Body Integration stage cultivator from the Water Vein Tribe hiding nearby?
He smiled bitterly. "They overestimate me. I only just broke through to the early of the Deity Transformation stage. But I am important to my tribe. If they want to take over my people, killing me would make it much easier."
"I see." Amalia nodded slightly.
Elder Ryusoo Min who is now exposed, no longer bothered to hide and he stepped forward to stand beside Ryusoo Jin.
"Elder," Ryusoo Jin greeted respectfully.
Ryusoo Min fixed his gaze on Amalia, his posture composed and authoritative. "Not bad. You noticed my presence and even saw through my cultivation level. Your blade is quite special—it must be your greatest reliance. But the gap between our realms is not so easily crossed."
"Well, there’s only one way to find out," Amalia replied.
She had yet to unleash her full strength because she intentionally suppressing her power to avoid an unintended breakthrough.
Then, she transmitted a message to Yeom Hwaun: "If you don’t want to get caught up in this, take your people and get as far away as possible."
Yeom Hwaun assumed she was worried about the battle’s aftermath affecting them.
Little did he know that she was actually concerned about losing control—if she accidentally broke through, the resulting tribulation lightning would endanger them all.
"When this is over, I will be forever grateful, my lady," Yeom Hwaun said earnestly before hurrying off to gather his people.
He wasted no time.
Amalia appreciated that—she had little patience for hesitation and indecisiveness.
Toyun Kangmin and Ryusoo Jin originally intended to chase after them, but then they suddenly remembered that there was still a peak Deity Transformation stage demonic beast in that direction.
They hesitated for a moment.
"Go quickly! Don’t let Yeom Hwaun escape. Once I’ve dealt with this one, I’ll come to support you," Elder Ryusoo Min ordered with a frown.
The two of them no longer dared to hesitate and immediately led the remaining warriors in pursuit.
Amalia did not stop them; she simply let them go.
"You’re quite arrogant," Elder Ryusoo Min remarked.
He sensed that beneath her composed and unruffled demeanor lay a wild, unshakable confidence.
He pondered which faction she could belong to—surely, she wasn’t from the Oryeong Mountains, or he would have at least heard of her before.
"You flatter me. Let’s begin—I don’t intend to drag this out," Amalia said as she swung her long blade.
The space around them trembled faintly.
Seeing this, a hint of solemnity flashed across Elder Ryusoo Min’s face.
She truly wasn’t an ordinary peak Deity Transformation stage cultivator.
Was she about to break through?
"You..."
Before he could finish speaking, Amalia had already launched her attack.
She dashed forward, her blade wind howling as it sliced through the trees ahead, reducing them to mere wood chips.
In an instant, she closed the distance, delivering a series of strikes, but Elder Ryusoo Min narrowly evaded them all.
Shock appeared on his face once again.
"A divine weapon? Your blade is actually a divine weapon?"
"And what if it is?" Amalia chuckled, then instantly teleported right in front of him.
They say that softness overcomes hardness, and though Elder Ryusoo Min excelled in water-type techniques, each time he blocked, his arms went numb from the force of her strikes.
He didn’t answer Amalia’s question, but the greed in his eyes was unmistakable.
The Water Vein Tribe specialized in defense, yet their offensive power was lacking.
If he could obtain this divine weapon, his strength would increase significantly.
With that thought, Elder Ryusoo Min shifted from defense to offense.
A Body Integration stage cultivator’s mastery over the water element was profound, but even so, his attacks barely posed a threat to Amalia.
Only now did he begin to understand why she coveted her own blade so much.
At some point, the sky had darkened, thick clouds rolling in above them.
The forest was shrouded in an eerie gloom, as if night had suddenly fallen.
Then, with a thunderous roar, a bolt of lightning crashed down from the sky.
Elder Ryusoo Min immediately sensed that something was wrong—the lightning wasn’t random; it was chasing Amalia.
If he carelessly stepped into its range, he too would be targeted.
Amalia did not dodge.
She let the lightning strike her directly.
It hurt, but using tribulation lightning to temper her body was well worth it.
She had thought her physique was already refined to perfection, yet under the baptism of the lightning, traces of black impurities were still being forced out of her skin.
Meanwhile, the spiritual energy inside her surged explosively.
"Impossible! How can your breakthrough be so... calm?" Elder Ryusoo Min exclaimed in disbelief.
Amalia already felt incredibly powerful, far beyond an ordinary peak Deity Transformation stage cultivator—more like the pinnacle of this level, a true prodigy.
Usually, the stronger a cultivator was, the more terrifying their tribulation lightning would be.
What Elder Ryusoo Min didn’t know was that Amalia had been deliberately suppressing her breakthrough.
She didn’t want to cause too much of a disturbance.
If she fully let go, she wouldn’t just advance to the early Body Integration stage—she might keep breaking through consecutively, which would bring down an even more terrifying heavenly tribulation.
Feeling the surge of new power within her, Amalia tested it out with a casual slash.
The ground split open instantly, sending tremors through the earth.
"So this is the power of the Body Integration stage... Truly a major turning point." She could feel that her strength had multiplied several times over.
"I originally planned to use you as a whetstone for my blade," Amalia said, her tone casual. "But now I see... you’re not quite sharp enough. Oh well, this sharpening session is over."
