Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 1348: Breaking Through the Void
Chapter 1348: Breaking Through the Void
That wasn’t the style of Wealth—no, of the great Beast God.
"How’s their cultivation progressing?" Since Wealth had been keeping an eye on them, always dreaming of creating a powerful Pixiu Army, Amalia hadn’t paid them much attention.
She had no idea how much progress they had made.
"The strongest ones have already reached the Golden Core stage!" Wealth’s tail lifted high with pride.
A flicker of shock passed through Amalia’s eyes. "Already at the Golden Core stage? In such a short time?"
She had always thought her cultivation was the fast one, but she hadn’t expected a mixed-blood Pixiu to be even faster.
"Of course! That’s because of my excellent teaching!"
Amalia stared at him in silence.
Wealth hesitated. "...Fine, fine, it’s because of you, Mother. They were born within the Sumeru World and are now completely bound to its fate. The Sumeru World is still flourishing, filled with vitality—just like the ancient era when the heavens and earth had just opened. Back then, countless powerful cultivators ascended to immortality, and that golden age produced a wave of supreme beings. If you had been born in that era, as one of its protagonists, you would have advanced just as fast as Little Goldie, Little Lucky, Little Cashie, and Little Nugget."
"’Protagonist of an era’?" Amalia, who had lived through several worlds, found the term a bit novel.
"Every era has its own protagonists. In the golden age of cultivation, the chosen ones who ascended were the protagonists of that time. When the Immortal Realm was first established, it had its own set of key figures as well. And right now, you and Big Dad might just be the protagonists of this chaotic era. The fate of humanity and cultivators in the Mystic Void Continent likely rests on you two. That’s why your cultivation speed surpasses even the most talented geniuses—it’s the natural trend of each era."
Amalia knew that by "fate," he was referring to the problem of cultivators being unable to ascend from the Mystic Void Continent.
She hesitated for a moment before asking, "Do you really think we can solve the ascension problem? I still don’t have the slightest clue. The Sumeru World isn’t even a thousandth the size of the Mystic Void Continent, let alone the Immortal Realm."
"That’s why you have to work even harder—find the thing that old woman told you about as soon as possible."
"I’ll try my best, but we haven’t seen any sign of the purple energy you mentioned." Amalia sighed helplessly.
It was proving far too elusive and mysterious.
Wealth was unconcerned. "That doesn’t mean anything! What if one day, it just appears in front of you on its own?"
After saying that, he glanced at Big Dad, who jolted slightly due to the ship’s vibrations.
Wealth gulped and suggested, "Mother, why don’t you just put Big Dad into the Sumeru World? It’s much safer inside."
Amalia could easily tell he had been startled again, but she also found his reasoning sound good, so she agreed.
Just as she transferred Kenny Lin into the Sumeru World, a thunderous boom echoed across the space, reverberating beyond the nine heavens.
Amalia then brought out Wealth’s little underlings so they could take turns helping with the energy transfer.
Finally, she had a moment to herself to search for weak points in the spatial boundary.
Everywhere here was filled with chaotic phenomena, making it incredibly difficult to find a weak point.
But just as Wealth had said, Amalia was the protagonist of this era, so good fortune always seemed to follow her.
Less than a day had passed when Amalia suddenly instructed Wealth to turn the flying boat in a different direction.
"Mother, what’s wrong?" Wealth asked while simultaneously commanding his underlings to adjust their course.
"I just have a feeling this is the right direction—maybe we’ll find an exit sooner." Amalia couldn’t quite explain it, but it was like a sixth sense guiding her.
Wealth was used to this kind of thing and didn’t press further, simply continuing to push his subordinates to work harder.
After traveling for a little over an hour, they spotted a tiny point of light within a spatial rift.
When they got closer, they discovered that the light wasn’t an exit—it was an object suspended in midair, glowing faintly.
The item was an ordinary-looking jade pendant, seemingly nothing special.
"Why would something just appear out of nowhere?" Wealth muttered in confusion.
"This must be what drew me here." Amalia glanced around but saw no signs of any other living beings.
Wealth thought for a moment before exclaiming, "I get it now! If something is attracting you, it has to be related to that old woman. But why did he leave this object here?"
Wealth’s gaze sharpened. "I know! She must be trying to tell us that this part of space is relatively weak, and we might be able to break through. Either that, or she’s hinting that this area connects to the Mystic Void Continent."
"That makes sense. But how are we supposed to break through? Even a weak point in space isn’t easy to shatter."
"I have a way."
Ordinary divine artifacts wouldn’t be enough—her own strength wasn’t quite there yet.
But she had something even stronger: the Sumeru World.
Although it was small, its spatial boundaries were even more stable than some large worlds.
If she used it as a battering ram, it just might work.
"But I might need to disable the flying boat’s defenses to do it. I’ll send you all inside first—"
"No way!" Wealth cut her off before she could finish. "If Big Dad finds out I left you alone, he’ll skin me alive and make me into soup! The little ones can go in, but I’m staying. I can help you control the flying boat."
Amalia considered it for a moment. "Alright, but if you can’t hold on, let me know. We can rest for a bit."
But Wealth immediately objected. "We can’t rest! If we stop halfway, the weak point will start repairing itself!"
