Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 1341: Reckoning
Chapter 1341: Reckoning
"Are you two alright?"
Rafael: "Not dead yet."
Duan Yao: "Thank you for your concern, Ms. Amalia. We’re fine for now."
Rafael shot him a glare—so fake.
Duan Yao ignored him.
Amalia turned to Kenny Lin. "Stay here. I’ll take care of this."
Kenny Lin lazily nodded his head. "Got it. Go ahead."
Amalia walked forward, cutting through the crowd.
Whether they were aliens or humans, everyone instinctively moved aside to clear a path for her.
Even Xel’Anzeth and Xel’Markos, who had been standing in her way, subconsciously stepped aside.
A few sharp-eyed people took notice of this small but telling detail.
Hsu Ziyan’s gaze darkened as he stared at the unfamiliar figure who had suddenly appeared.
He tried to gauge her strength but found himself unable to see through her.
He recalled a piece of intelligence he had received earlier—half of the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth’s forces had been annihilated overnight.
The report indicated that two people were responsible, and this woman was one of them.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Amalia Vanquez."
Santiago’s eyelid twitched.
He had just been exposed as a former servant of the Vanquez family, and now another person with the surname "Vanquez" appeared?
Before he could think further, Amalia turned to him.
Her ink-black eyes locked onto him, unwavering.
Just as Santiago was about to crack under the pressure, she finally spoke.
"Do you remember me, Santiago?"
Santiago’s heart pounded violently.
He forced a tough front, but his voice wavered. "Who are you? Why should I remember you?"
"The Vanquez family massacre over thirty years ago—wasn’t that your doing? Have you already forgotten? Because I never have." Amalia enunciated every word as she stared him down.
Santiago’s face twisted with shock. "It’s you... You’re the one who escaped back then—the last survivor of the Vanquez family?"
The Memories immediately flooded back.
Years ago, the Storm Claw Overlord had brought news that the Vanquez family had been wiped out, but one child had slipped through the cracks.
That child had been only a few years old, too young to remember anything.
But Santiago remembered the name—Amalia Vanquez, the most cherished grandchild of the Head of the Vanquez family.
"So you remember now. Good," Amalia said coldly. Then, she turned to Hsu Ziyan, whose face had darkened with fury. "And you—you were the one who ordered the Vanquez family’s extermination."
Hsu Ziyan’s glare burned with anger. "That artifact... It was with you all along, wasn’t it?"
"To be precise, it was inside me," Amalia tilted her head, watching them closely. "So, are you both ready to pay for your crimes in blood?"
"Pay in blood?" Santiago, who had initially been panicked, had now regained his composure.
His foster father had already broken through from the peak of the Golden Core stage to the Nascent Soul stage.
No matter how many people came seeking revenge, they were no match for him.
"You’re overestimating yourself!"
Amalia: "Of course. Why did you betray the Vanquez family? Was it just for a little profit? Was that enough for you to go so far as to wipe out the entire family?"
Santiago sneered. "So what if it was? They were the ones who didn’t know their place. If they had just handed over the item, everything would’ve been fine. Instead, they dared to have someone cripple my cultivation! If not for my foster father, I would have been nothing more than a pile of bones. I wanted to crush them with my own hands, to tear their flesh apart and devour it—only that could have eased my hatred!"
His expression twisted with fury.
The suffering he endured after losing his cultivation was something he would never forget.
"And yet, you think your stealing was justified?"
Santiago met her gaze—her ink-black eyes were as calm as a still whirlpool.
A chill crept into his heart as her presence seemed to spread through his very soul.
"The strong prey on the weak. That’s just how the world works." fгeewebnovёl.com
"You’re right," Amalia said. "So I’ve decided to follow your own logic."
She raised her hand, and in an instant, Santiago was sucked into her grasp so fast that even Hsu Ziyan failed to react in time.
A sickening crack echoed.
Her fingers never even touched him—she merely pointed at various spots on his body, and his bones turned to powder.
Within moments, his limbs hung limply, completely useless.
He was in so much pain that he wished he could pass out, but for some reason, the more he suffered, the more his mind remained horrifyingly clear.
His entire body was soaked in sweat, as if he had just been pulled out of water.
After shattering his bones, Amalia casually tossed him toward the entrance, leaving behind a simple command: "Don’t let him die too easily."
Kenny Lin glanced at the crumpled figure on the ground, sprawled out like a broken dog.
"Physical suffering is nothing," he said indifferently. "Once I extract his soul, I’ll burn it for eternity, lifetime after lifetime—until you’re satisfied. How about that?"
"Do as you please," Amalia’s voice drifted over.
Santiago’s one remaining functional eye widened in sheer terror.
His silent plea screamed in his mind: foster father, please save me!
But Hsu Ziyan ignored his desperate gaze.
Instead, his cold eyes were locked onto Amalia. "Your cultivation... it’s beyond the Golden Core stage, isn’t it?"
"What I am is unimportant," Amalia replied "What matters is—what price will you pay today to atone for your past sins?"
Dark energy swirled around Hsu Ziyan, thick with the weight of his crimes.
"If we were in Mystic Void Continent, someone like you—who casually wipes out entire planets—would never have survived long enough to reach the Nascent Soul stage. The laws of heaven would have struck you down. No amount of heaven tribulation would ever cleanse the sins you’ve committed."
Hsu Ziyan’s pupils shrank.
Mystic Void Continent?
So he hadn’t been wrong—there really was another world where true cultivators existed.
