Chapter 1329: The Lost Relic

With that, she and Kenny Lin took off, soaring powerfully into the depths of Planet Neo-Shengis.

"In this lifetime, do I have any chance of becoming as strong as them?" Khalil asked enviously.

Rafael shot him a glance. "You’re dreaming. You started training too late—if you can reach even one percent of their strength, your ancestors will be burning incense in gratitude."

Khalil nodded. "One percent still sounds pretty good."

Rafael snorted. "No ambition."

Khalil immediately stopped talking.

If you had ambition, you were mocked.

If you lacked ambition, you were scolded.

Meanwhile, Amalia and Kenny Lin didn’t worry about expending their spiritual energy.

They could replenish it elsewhere.

In less than half an hour, they had traversed most of Planet Neo-Shengis and arrived at a colossal structure standing at the edge of a cliff.

The building was already in ruins.

Whether it had been built this way or deteriorated over time was unclear.

But despite its current state, traces of its former grandeur and splendor were still evident.

Amalia’s heart skipped a beat.

Her pace slowed involuntarily.

"What’s wrong?" Kenny Lin stopped as well.

Amalia stared at the structure in astonishment. "I just had an odd feeling, like it’s pulling me toward it."

"Does it have something to do with your Small World?" Kenny Lin immediately made the connection.

"Most likely."

The Small World was originally the Soltice Ring.

But why had the Vanquez family possessed it while being completely unaware of its significance?

However, if the Andromeda Universe’s cultivation techniques truly originated from Planet Neo-Shengis, then it was highly likely that the Soltice Ring had come from here as well.

Kenny Lin asked, "Then how did the Vanquez family get the Soltice Ring?"

Amalia fell into deep thought. "I vaguely remember my grandfather giving it to me when I was young. He said something, but I was too little at the time to remember it clearly. I think... he said he picked it up somewhere."

Kenny Lin burst into laughter. "He just randomly picked up a spatial ring?"

Amalia deadpanned. "Don’t laugh. That’s what I remember. The Vanquez family weren’t cultivators—they wouldn’t have gone to the Solvaris Star System. Maybe another cultivator took the Soltice Ring out of here and, realizing it was useless to them, discarded it. That’s how my family ended up with it."

If the person who got the Soltice Ring had known how to activate it, Amalia never would have had the chance to obtain it.

Kenny Lin smirked. "Well, then you must be very lucky. A thousand-year-old treasure, and you ended up with it."

Amalia’s expression turned solemn. "I’d rather not have had this so-called luck. If not because of this ring, my family wouldn’t have died."

"But without it, you wouldn’t have met me either."

Amalia fell silent. "Fine. The past is the past—there’s no use dwelling on it now."

Kenny Lin accused, "You’re the one who brought it up first."

Amalia sighed, "Alright, alright, it’s my fault, okay?"

Kenny Lin wrapped an arm around her waist. "How could my wife ever be wrong? The world may be wrong, but you never will be."

Amalia glanced at him without responding.

As they spoke, the two of them arrived at the ruined building.

Only up close did they realize how absurdly large it was.

In front of it lay a vast plaza.

At the end of the plaza stood an enormous gate, corroded and on the verge of collapse.

It was massive—about fifty meters wide and over thirty meters tall.

In the human world, not even the grandest palaces could have such an enormous gate, let alone a single-story building that reached fifty or sixty meters in height.

"It looks like there was a formation here before. It was broken not too long ago—probably about half an hour ago, at most an hour."

As someone who had already half-stepped into the world of formation masters, Amalia could immediately see the lingering traces of the formation on the plaza.

"For a formation to last thousands of years on a planet with no spiritual energy, this building must be extraordinary." Kenny Lin commented as he stepped into the plaza.

Amalia nodded. "Anything capable of producing something like the Soltice Ring was never going to be simple. No wonder cultivators from the Andromeda Universe have been obsessed with it for a thousand years—even the high-dimensional aliens have come for it."

Kenny Lin’s interest was piqued. "Can you sense anything now?"

Amalia gazed into the depths of the building. "Something is calling to me. The feeling is growing stronger. Follow me."

She strode into the structure, moving decisively in one direction with Kenny Lin close behind.

While other factions wandered aimlessly through the building, searching for treasure, they barely exerted any effort before finding the source of the call.

Outside the source, they discovered a group of aliens attacking a large door.

It resembled the entrance to a grand hall—sealed shut for unknown reasons.

The aliens, convinced that something precious lay within, were trying to force their way inside.

Instead of confronting them immediately, Amalia and Kenny Lin paused.

"Speaking of which, there’s something I’ve always been curious about. What is the true purpose behind the aliens’ invasion of the Andromeda Universe? And why did they set up research bases on the mining planets? What exactly are they studying?" Amalia turned to Kenny Lin.

He smirked. "After a nation prospers, what comes next?"

Amalia answered without hesitation. "Decline. Are you saying the aliens are in decline?"

Kenny Lin gave her a thumbs-up. "Exactly. Their path has a fundamental flaw. The moment they became the strongest beings in the universe, they set themselves on the path to self-destruction. In other words, their genes are inherently defective."

Amalia instantly understood. "No wonder they’re experimenting on humans. They’re using these experiments to find a way to fix their genetic defects."

Kenny Lin nodded. "Unfortunately for them, their initial attempts failed."

If the aliens’ only goal had been to conquer the Andromeda Universe, there was no need to abduct so many humans.
