Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 1328: The Hidden Legacy
Chapter 1328: The Hidden Legacy
In front of him, the Yin-Yang Pearl floated, pulsating with dim black light.
The white half of the pearl was fading, growing duller and duller.
Amalia remained silent and waited.
Two hours passed.
But before they even saw Planet Neo-Shengis, they spotted the rumored giant black hole first.
From afar, it was about the size of a fist, seemingly small.
But as the battleship drew closer, its terrifying nature became clear.
A swirling black vortex, like the gaping maw of an endless abyss, devoured everything in its path.
There was no trace of life or debris near the black hole.
Even the closest planets were several light-years away.
Amalia had never seen a black hole this massive before.
The one they had emerged from last time wasn’t even one ten-thousandth the size of this one.
Just as she was lost in thought, Kenny Lin opened his eyes.
"You’ve been acting mysterious lately. Is it related to the Solvaris Star System?" Amalia asked.
Kenny Lin replied, "Mm. I have an idea."
Amalia listened attentively.
Kenny Lin smirked. "I’ll tell you later."
Amalia raised an eyebrow. "You’re learning how to keep people in suspense now?"
Kenny Lin let out a soft hum. "Planet Neo-Shengis seems to be in sight."
Amalia turned to look and saw Planet Neo-Shengis situated directly in front of the black hole—a dark gray planet, so inconspicuous that it was easy to overlook.
She scanned the surroundings but didn’t see any other faction’s battleships.
Planet Neo-Shengis was too small to accommodate many large battleship, but no one wanted to leave their battleships vulnerable to destruction, so they must have hidden them and opted for small spacecraft to land on the planet.
"I have an idea," Kenny Lin said with a grin.
This time, Amalia immediately understood his intent.
"Forget it. There’s no need to make more enemies for the Erythar Star System right now. Don’t forget—we’ll have to leave this universe someday."
Kenny Lin licked his lips. "Easy. We just take them out on Planet Neo-Shengis before they become a problem."
Amalia gave him a sideways glance. "You’re really getting addicted to killing, aren’t you?"
Kenny Lin shrugged. "I’m just thinking of your best interests. Erythar Star System is where you’re gathering faith energy, and that affects your strength. Shouldn’t we protect it properly?"
"Survival of the fittest. Without competition, there’s no progress," Amalia countered. "I do want their faith energy, but I don’t want them growing complacent and getting wiped out because they’ve had it too easy."
A little pressure was necessary.
As they spoke, the battleship had arrived near Planet Neo-Shengis.
Unlike the other factions, they boldly parked their warship in open space.
The people on Planet Neo-Shengis wouldn’t see it, but anyone approaching would.
After leaving some troops behind to guard the battleship, the rest of them followed Amalia and Kenny Lin onto a small spacecraft and descended to Planet Neo-Shengis.
The planet was barren, its surface a desolate expanse of black and gray. freewebnøvel.coɱ
The rivers of molten lava flowed across the land, eradicating any possibility of life.
The mountains in the distance had split apart, their jagged peaks collapsed in chaotic formations.
Fissures riddled the ground, spewing scalding lava at intervals.
There was almost no stable footing anywhere.
"What a terrifying planet!" The group gasped as they took in the scene before them.
The mass of Planet Neo-Shengis was being slowly devoured by the massive black hole, and its exposed surface had nearly reached the planet’s core.
The hot gusts of wind occasionally surged up from the cracks in the ground.
An ordinary person standing here could be roasted alive within seconds.
Due to Planet Neo-Shengis’s gravitational influence, no signals worked here, and the air was incredibly dry.
Staying for just half an hour would make anyone feel uncomfortable.
"This place is strange—there’s no spiritual energy at all." Rafael said in shock.
Amalia stepped forward. "That’s normal. If there were spiritual energy, this planet wouldn’t be so lifeless. Spiritual energy represents vitality—the more there is, the more flourishing the land."
The group followed closely behind her.
"Some areas here may be unstable and unable to support a person’s weight. Everyone, be careful," Amalia warned.
Just as she spoke, Duan Yao stepped onto a patch of soft ground.
The land instantly melted into scorching magma.
Had he not reacted quickly, he would have fallen in.
Moving forward, they spotted scattered footprints.
Clearly, the others had walked this path before.
A single shoe lay abandoned on the ground, either left behind in haste or lost in a desperate struggle before falling into the lava.
Cautiously navigating the molten terrain, they crossed a fractured mountain range.
This single journey took them nearly an entire day.
Of course, if it were just Amalia and Kenny Lin, they could have flown across easily.
However, the others weren’t as fortunate.
Their cultivation levels were too low, and their spiritual energy wasn’t enough to sustain continuous flight.
Like the other factions, they had no choice but to travel on foot.
"This won’t work," someone muttered.
After crossing the mountains, they expected to be close to their destination.
Instead, they were met with an endless, flat expanse stretching to the horizon.
There was no telling how long the journey ahead would take.
At that moment, Minister Sharif spoke up. "Ms. Amalia, Mr. Kenny, you don’t need to stay with us. The other factions are facing the same difficulties as we are. Even if we encounter them, we’re not entirely without the ability to fight back. You’ve already helped us so much—now it’s time for us to learn to walk on our own."
Amalia didn’t argue. "Are you sure? Planet Neo-Shengis isn’t large. You’re likely to run into aliens."
General Rafiq burst into laughter. "Then that just means we get to fight!"
Khalil agreed. "Minister Sharif and the General Rafiq are right. The two Immortals have already done more than enough for us."
Seeing their determination, Amalia didn’t hesitate any further. "Alright then, be careful. We’ll go ahead."
