Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God-Chapter 1300 - 700: The Special Benefits of Eradicating the Divine Root
Chapter 1300: Chapter 700: The Special Benefits of Eradicating the Divine Root
Guiding the residents of Mesnoel to log into the Dragon Oak Dream Realm doesn’t require Gaven’s worry; they already have a well-established operational model, with designated personnel handling the process.
For now, the method of entering the Dragon Oak Dream Realm through Ether transformation is only available to those physically situated near the Dragon Oak Mother Tree. Those accessing via signal relay stations like the Rose Tower or the Mesnoel Ruler’s Tower still use the original method of soul consciousness login, while their physical bodies remain on the Material Plane.
Currently, the Dragon Oak Dream Realm cannot facilitate long-distance Ether login. Even if this becomes feasible in the future, a cautious approach will be maintained (only those who pass assessments and are permitted to reside permanently near the Dragon Oak Mother Tree can use this method). This ensures prevention of overcrowding at the Dragon Oak Mother Tree and guards against enemies infiltrating or attacking the Mother Tree via this mechanism.
If it truly becomes realizable, it would carry profound significance. Anywhere covered by the Dragon Oak Mother Tree’s signal tower could enable swift dream travel via the Dream Realm, with convenience rivaling that of a Portal.
After the experiment succeeded, Gaven did not immediately retract his consciousness but redirected his attention to the lowest floor of the Tower of Dominion, the former Land of Sealing that housed the Divine Root.
This place has now transformed into a seedling cultivation ground for the Sodalite Treants.
Nothing is truly absolute, including even the Evil Gods.
The God of Corruption and Degeneration, Moando, holds an infamous reputation in Felen—especially among the natural races—because of the irreparable damage he inflicted on forests. Named forests across Felen seem inevitably marred by his influence, and he and his believers flaunt such destruction as their pride and pleasure.
Yet, in Gaven’s hands, Moando’s beneficial aspects concerning nature have been exploited to their fullest. Particularly the former Divine Root imprisonment site was first converted into a Land of Purification for dark trees and has now been repurposed as a seedling cultivation ground—with effects not just good, but outstanding, even surpassing the Magic Farmland Gaven created through his Power of Favorable Weather.
Rows upon rows of neatly arranged saplings have sprouted here, reaching adult height within just three months, numbering as many as eight hundred.
With such a secure seedling cultivation ground, it’s difficult for the Sodalite Treants not to be tempted—even the most stubborn individuals were gradually persuaded to nurture their seeds here.
Being natural-born Awakened Plants, their reproductive processes combine the strengths of both flora and fauna. Each reproduction cycle produces seven or eight seeds (depending on the Life Dice of the Sodalite Treants), and though the quantity is small, the seeds are imbued with their parent’s essence. As long as they are not artificially damaged or destroyed, the germination rate is 100%. However, they can only bear seeds once a year—seed-bearing being an energetically taxing endeavor for any species.
After the Sodalite Treants completed their seed cultivation, Gaven promptly expelled them from this area.
The strengths and weaknesses of the Sodalite Treants have already been displayed in full.
They are the finest natural sentinels, capable of staying rooted within a single tree for a month without food or drink—neither fatigued nor lax in their duties, tirelessly safeguarding the forest.
They are the most skilled carpenters. Not only can they mold wood into their desired shapes, but their innate abilities allow them to enhance the wood’s durability or flexibility, making it harder or softer as needed.
The weapons and equipment crafted by them have already passed field tests in the hands of the Conqueror Army, extending beyond Tower War Chariots and Side Chariots to include numerous Cart Crossbows. In Efanso, the Conqueror Army has also equipped another type of gear on a large scale: Threaded Composite Wooden Shields.
These wooden shields are indeed the hallmark of the Sodalite Treants’ craftsmanship. Their finely processed weapons follow the same principles, wherein the wood undergoes multilayer composite treatment, creating threaded textures on the surface.
Treated in such a manner, these wooden shields greatly enhance their resistance to slicing and piercing attacks and even exhibit a degree of flame resistance, making them hard to ignite. Retaining the lightness typical of wooden shields, their low-cost production also easily enables widespread distribution.
Claiming that every Conqueror Army soldier possesses one might be an exaggeration, but at least seventy percent of them wield their own Threaded Composite Wooden Shield. As a life-saving tool, it’s not shameful to block with a shield upon encountering enemies.
The flaws of the Sodalite Treants are equally prominent—they are stubborn, exceedingly stubborn, their thinking as rigid as wood itself, quite literally incapable of budging.
Especially when it concerns nature, they leave virtually no room for compromise. The large-scale crafting of equipment using purified dark wood already marks their limit of acceptance. If asked to process timber freshly felled before their eyes, they would only respond with sorrow and rage, and you shouldn’t expect their assistance.
The group of Sodalite Treants that sided with Gaven had, through prolonged warfare against the Dwarves Elves, already seen most of their more inflexible members eliminated, with many of their harsher traits sanded down; their capacity for compromise had significantly improved.
Sodalite Treants from other forests are far more wild—they refuse entry to unnatural beings within their woods, often sparking conflicts that escalate into wars. They are either driven into the forest depths or exterminated by intelligent races, burnt as firewood.
Transforming the already mature Sodalite Treants is extremely difficult, but working with the unawakened seedlings proves far more achievable.
Originally, Gaven intended to use the Enlightenment spell but found it ineffective—Enlightenment only works on mature, non-intelligent creatures, while seedling saplings haven’t yet awakened their initial consciousness. How would it be possible to enlighten them?
