"Benladra…"
I sighed, smiling at her and patting her head. I felt quite happy with the father of such a brilliant girl as her.
"It's not really about that… It's just that sometimes, when you are in the position such as mine, crying or showing weakness is… not a good thing. I am the face of all dragons in the world now, their king and the one that represents them all, it's a heavy responsibility, hahah…"
"I-I see…" she muttered. "Dad, I really admire you… Once I grow up, I want to become like you and also protect people…"
"Is that so?" I felt happy to hear her say such a thing. "Well, it makes me happy to hear that! Shall we go have lunch now? I'm starving."
"Yeah!" she nodded, grabbing my arm as we walked inside the ship after I had already transformed into my Dragonoid form.
The trip to the Aquarius Archipelago was long, even at our super speed, so let's take it easy for now.
…
After having lunch, I visited the Draconic Records to check on my family, and by that I meant mother, father, and my little brother.
I walked to the Ice Dragon Realm, and while being revered, praised, and greeted by thousands of ice dragons while walking by, I saw my little brother running around the snowy hills.
Nidavellir sure was energetic today as well, the boy loved just running around the hills and covering himself in snow.
He looked so much like me when I was younger as well, it almost felt funny to look at him… And despite his great affinity with ice and snow, he was actually a better combination of ice and dark dragons.
Indeed, while I was born as primarily ice dragon until pretty late on my life, Nidavellir was born with both dark and ice halves almost at perfect, synchronized harmony.
I also noticed my mother there Nifl, alongside my father Fafnir, they were watching over him as he played around cutely.
I walked towards them with my gigantic body.
"How are you all doing today?"
"Oh, Drake!"
"Dear, good day!"
"Bwig bro!"
Nidavellir ran towards me and climbed my body eagerly, reaching my head, which was so much bigger than his, as he sat over my forehead.
"Hahaha! You sure got faster at climbing, eh? You like climbing your big brother or something?"
"Yweah! It's cool up hewe!"
"Heheh, is that so? Come on, come here."
I gently grabbed him with my fingers and placed him on the palm of my scaled hand, he was indeed a small little thing.
"Want to hear stories about the other continent again? So a lot of things happened after last time, when I told you about our battle against the Flame Emperor…"
"Reawy?! Tell me moweeee!"
The last months I've been coming to visit him twice or thrice a week to tell him "tales" about my life, which the boy was fascinated about.
He would always ask me about tales and how they went and more, and always have that little, adorable stare in his eyes, which I couldn't resist.
His innocence and his curiosity went hand by hand, so he always asked for more.
Like that, I told my parents about what happened recently and also entertained my brother for a couple of hours.
Until finally, as I came back to reality, Miranda called for me to go see what was happening outside.
"Drake! Quickly come here!!!"
"Wait, what? What's the hurry? What is it?"
I climbed up the icy stairs, reaching outside to find out something rather strange, no, overly bizarre.
The sky was split open, the cracks, the same cracks I saw through my battle against Chaos were there…
Although they weren't filled with chaos or miasma, but other strange energies, and through those giant cracks, I could see a completely different land, faintly.
An enormous forest of pink petals, a sea, and buildings, bright lights illuminating a huge city decorated with many things I've never seen before either.
"W-What is that?" Benladra asked. "A crack… in space?"
"Is it this what you were talking about, dear?" Andromeda asked.
"Yeah… Oblivion mentioned this, the world, Yggdrasil, is beginning to assimilate other worlds close by to maintain its "stability" and support…" I said. "And… that's pretty much all I knew, I had no idea it would be this way though!"
The cracks spread through the sky and even the air in front of us, as we had to slowly evade them the view of this other world made me curious.
Belle appeared at that moment, recognizing that place faster than any of us could do though. Her cute, little fox eyes widened as she saw the land beyond.
"Belle! Can you see what that land is?"
"Yes…"
We remained silent, listening to her.
"That's Zipangu… the world I came from before reincarnating here…" she muttered. "I-I can't believe it… Zipangu is… No, wait a second! If that's the case, then…! Drake! What is the current state of the Aquarius Archipelago?!"
"We'll have to get closer to check…! Fuyu, full speed!" I said.
SPLAAASH!
With Aegir's powers fueling her alongside our dwarf captain, Charlotte, we moved rapidly while releasing lightning bolts and water ripples.
Until finally…
We could see the archipelago from here!
"It's over there…! And… Huh?"
However, Miranda's words were interrumpted, as she glanced at the scene afar from us.
And I did so as well…
"W-What the hell?!"
The archipelago had changed.
Several of the small islands had unified into a much larger island, while the seas connecting the two was distorted.
This big island had grasslands and pink Sakura trees, and also… it was constantly warping space around it.
To make this worse, this "erosion" into our world was working faster than I imagined!
"We have to get there, dad! Rose and everyone else… I'm worried about them!" Benladra said.
"I know, let's go!" I nodded.
I never thought that from all places, this peaceful Archipelago would end up being so close to this calamity.
