Wu Long oversaw Cai Yin sit down in a meditative lotus pose, floating a bit from the ground, with the translucent smoke-like energy beginning to swirl around her, and turned his attention to Gong Liwei who was readying her mental state.

He took out the acupuncture needles suitable for this occasion, inwardly thinking he needed to order some new ones for both himself and Gong Liwei from his Forging Masters, as well as a few medicines, and a small empty porcelain bottle.

“I cannot move from this platform, so you’re going to have to come here”, Wu Long then spoke to both Gong Liwei and Helian Muyang.

The latter nodded to his lover, and supported by her approached Wu Long who stood near the monolith.

Gong Liwei also took a deep breath and a long exhale, approaching the Throne of the Taker.

The Young Master sat down as signaled by Wu Long, while Gong Liwei approached Wu Long, confirming with him the details of the procedure.

He let her first speak what she thought was applicable to do, and how it should be done, and as he expected, while she did lack knowledge and experience, she did have a good sense, requiring only a few pointers from him.

He gave her the leather roll with the needles, which she carefully took, as well as the medicines. He then put the empty small porcelain bottle down near him on the floor, opening the cork.

“Eh? Are you… going to collect the poison?”, Gong Liwei instantly understood his intention from that last action.

“Of course, there’s no need for it to go to waste”, he nodded, “Huan’er can refine and purify it to its original state before use”

“Oh, I see”, Gong Liwei nodded, and turning to Helian Muyang softly announced, “I am going to start the procedure now”

“I will be in your care”, Helian Muyang spoke with a nod, as Meifang sat next to him, holding his hand.

The first thing was Helian Muyang taking a few medicine pills, some of which were just Yang-attribute medicine Wu Long always had in stock, this was to boost Young Master’s current condition to withstand extracting the poison.

The other pills had more to do with the procedure itself, storing medicinal energy in his body that would allow creating channels through which the poison would go through without seeping into other parts of the body along the way.

And of course, one was to dissolve the poison into its poisonous Qi state so that it could be guided out of the body.

Gong Liwei, meanwhile placed a few porcelain bottles, opening each one, and opened up the leather roll.

With a few hand signs, her Spiritual Qi and Soul Power began lifting the needles, in order to first soak them in the medicine from the porcelain bottles, and then start the procedure itself.

But as it wasn’t something she practiced a lot, her technique was slightly awkward.

She then felt Wu Long’s Spiritual Qi and Soul Power gently wrap around hers, guiding it.

As her Spiritual Sense, which was as sensitive as all five human senses, was infused, along with Spiritual Qi operated to create a feel of a real hand touch, the feeling she got was very similar if he wrapped his hands around hers to guide them what to do standing behind her.

A light blush appeared on her cheeks, but she quickly shook off any thoughts about that, concentrating on learning, and on the procedure.

The needles, after being soaked in medicine, floated up and taking positions pointing at specific spots on Helian Muyang’s back and shoulders, went forth.

Since Gong Liwei was primarily the one doing everything and Wu Long only subtly guided her and helped, it took quite some time, but eventually the poisonous Qi started seeping from the end of a specific needle which had a hollow part in it.

Wu Long immediately changed the hand sign he did with the hand free of control over the formation, and started collecting the poisonous Qi into the porcelain bottle, converting it into its liquid state when it was inside.

From then on, quite a bit of time passed as the rate at which the poison was extracted was going quite slow.

In this time, Wu Long focused on studying the formation and about the ritual of transferring an Extreme Yang Physique.

He first combed through the Spatial Ring of Senior Dong, taking out and reading any texts he read to come to his conclusions.

Then he moved the hand surrounded by glowing patterns, and streams of liquid text which were coming out of the mouths of the dragon statues floated toward the platform.

An orb of glowing characters formed in the air above the platform, resembling a sun. And then a beam of light connected the orb and his forehead, as he started to absorb the knowledge stored in this Vault directly.

At first, even though Wu Long already made an offer to trade the physique from Helian Muyang just in case, he was still quite skeptical of the actual validity of the ritual.

After all, it was widely recognized in all of the Seven Boundless Worlds, that transfer of any kind of any physique was impossible. And not for the lack of trying. Wu Long personally delved into the topic, as he also at one point was interested in the possibility.

Eventually, even he had to give up and settle for a so-called ‘Acquired’ Extreme Yang Physique.

It was certainly an Extreme Yang Physique, but as it was artificial, in other words achieved or created, and not natural born, it only gave the core benefits of Extreme Yang attribute, and each acquired Extreme Yang Physique was absolutely the same as the other one.

It did not have additional properties and unique attributes that natural physiques had.

Like the physiques of Luo Mingyu, Xue Bing and Shen Min, which gave them additional, unique powerful abilities aside from the Extreme Yin Qi and feminine charm.

In this sense, what Hua Ziyan wished to achieve was an Acquired Extreme Yin Physique since it would give her everything she desired from such a physique as a Dual Cultivator. A powerful Extreme Yin Qi to dual cultivate with Wu Long, feminine charm to please him, and receiving more benefits as a Dual Cultivator as a bonus. She was not interested in those other abilities like Xue Bing and Shen Min’s sensitivity to emotions or the former’s Frost Aura.

However, the same was not true for Wu Long.

His Acquired Extreme Yang Physique in the past also gave him everything he needed from one as a Dual Cultivator. However, there was still an allure in the additional properties that natural Extreme Yang Physiques had as someone interested in acquiring strength by almost any paths available to him.

And yet, despite his skepticism, the more he delved into the Ancient knowledge, the more real the possibility became.

What surprised him, was that the majority of the most profound knowledge was inherited by this Ancient Civilization from another that they considered Ancient back then.

The profound discoveries of aspects of Yang that he never knew existed were unfolding before him, filling him with delight.

He was already generally acknowledged to be the most knowledgeable man on the matters of Harmonic Qi in the Seven Boundless Worlds, no one disputed that fact.

And yet, almost everything he was learning here about the nature of Yang was absolutely new to him.

“Huh? Isn’t that…”, he then noticed something familiar, and upon examining a part of the texts, goosebumps ran through him from a new realization.

He did not know how exactly, perhaps, another Ancient Sect or Ancient Civilization inherited part of this knowledge from this one long after it was gone, and passed it onto another, eventually to be discovered by someone from the Modern Era, but he saw the fundamental principles on which the Eternal Sun Sect’s entire legacy was built.

The only significant chunk of legacy concerning the Yang that he was not able to obtain in his past life, only obtaining a small portion of it in this one from the Brilliant Sun Temple. A legacy which was considered to be most profound. And yet, it’s founding principles and thesis constituted only a portion of everything contained here.

‘This… even if the ritual was not actually possible… this knowledge alone is…’, he could not come up with an adequate word to describe how valuable it was even while inwardly thinking.

This legacy was something that could allow him to finally breach a ceiling he once struck in his past life, and surpass his own achievements several times over.

Meanwhile, the last drop of poison fell into the porcelain bottle, and Helian Muyang’s body shook.

Wu Long didn’t need to withdraw his attention from the knowledge, as part of him continued to comb through it while he also helped Gong Liwei finish the procedure.

At first, Helian Muyang felt the pain he felt all his life subsiding, and then, when it was gone he almost could not believe it, almost feeling it even though it was not there anymore.

A subtle strength began coursing through him as his Extreme Yang Physique was unbound from the prison of the Extreme Yin-attribute poison.

It wasn’t a sudden recovery, as he still had to come off from years of deteriorating health, but Wu Long simply took out a few other pills, as well as nodded Gong Liwei to continue with another procedure aimed now at recovery.

After a few more hours, Helian Muyang stood up, looking at his hands and then body in disbelief. He still had a slightly sickly appearance, which would only begin to change after a few months in normal circumstances, and he was still fairly weak and frail, but it was clear he was completely different from before when he didn’t even have enough strength to stand on his own.

Meifang covered her mouth with both hands with tears and then ran into his embrace as he turned to hug her.

Wu Long smiled, turning to Gong Liwei, “You have done great. Congratulations, Fairy Gong Liwei, on the first very successful step”

Her green eyes glistened with joy as well as a sense of accomplishment. But more than that, there was gratitude to Wu Long.

She had to forcefully stop herself as she had a sudden impulse to hug him.

“T-Thank you, Daoist Wu”, she said with a light blush, unable to hold back a smile.

At this point, the couple finally came to, starting to profusely thanking both Wu Long and Gong Liwei.

“Daoist Wu…”, after quite some time of expressing gratitude, to the point Wu Long had to put a stop to it, Helian Muyang asked with a slightly hesitant look, “… are you going to perform the ritual with those people still trapped in there?”

He pointed to the Throne of the Giver where the disciples of the three Sects were still in various states of either panic, angry gesturing, trying to break free, or despair.

“They are a part of the ritual”, Wu Long nodded.

“Eh?”, Helian Muyang asked in confusion.

“That Senior Dong knew what he was doing. You see, even if I cured your illness, your Yang is still severely depleted and weakened after so many years, and in this state, the ritual would not properly transfer your Extreme Yang Physique. However, if you drain all of those trapped in that formation of the essence of their Yang, it would be able to restore your depleted and weakened Yang into a state which would be suitable for transfer of the physique”, Wu Long calmly explained, as the young man shuddered.

“Will they…?”, he didn’t finish, turning a gaze to them.

“Yes, they will die. Of course, like in your case, that could be avoided, but it would not have any meaning since then I would just have to kill them afterwards”, Wu Long nodded, adding, “You would have to learn to be less empathetic at will, especially against people who tried to harm you and your loved one, if you want to protect her”

Helian Muyang’s eyes slightly widened, and then filled with resolve, nodding.

“Good”, Wu Long nodded, “I still need some time, so you can use it to recuperate further, and gather your strength for the transfer”

The young man nodded, coming off of the platform to his lover, and with her to the side of the room where they sat close to each other.

‘Mm, Mengqi really lucked out, I told her it would be harder on me than on them’, Wu Long inwardly chuckled as he saw that, since seeing that scene made him wish he was in the company of all of his ladies.
