Claimed By A Dragon Prince-Chapter 96: Friendly Match
Chapter 96: Friendly Match
Lily walked around the market seeing what was there and checking for an apothecary. With all the business happening there was never a dull moment. She found that there were arenas and training centers near by so she went to see. She wasn’t to big into watching fights but when there was a good fighter in the ring or arena she did pay attention to their movements.
Arriving at a large stone coliseum she could hear fighting just inside. There didn’t seem to be an event happening, so she went inside, thankfully no one stopped her. Lily tired to keep out of the way as she past each fighter or warrior as she made her way to the arena center. As she walks up a set of stairs she hears a crowd groan then cheer reaching the top.
Who she saw in the arena was none other than Dran. Figures he would find a way to blow off some steam. He wasn’t half bad either as he slung another opponent around knocking the breath from him as the man lands on his back. The two seem to talk with each other before Dran turns around seeing her standing there.
"When did you get here?" He asked the first question that came to mind before thinking of what he was asking. He had needed to let off some steam he just didn’t think Lily would show up there. "I needed to see one of the merchants, but they are out until dinner. I didn’t ant to stay in my room and having someone wait on me is bothersome tome. So I went for a walk and found....well you. Not intentionally, but none the less."
Dran found it hard to believe that she just went for a walk and need to speak with someone. Lily was too smart to just do one thing without needing something as well. She was dress to not stand out in a crowd, but he always found that the clothes she came in accented her body differently then the clothes made there.
Shaking his head he knew that was a dangerous line of thinking considering who they were earlier. "I can go if you’d like to continue?" She didn’t want to impose on his training time and still needed to find Bar. "I hear your are a skilled fighter. Some of the merchants have been tot he towns you have helped. I was curious about you, wanting to know if what the rumors said were true. Some yes others no. Care to prove them wrong?"
Lily hadn’t had a good fight in a while and she need to keep up her training even if this was mainly sparring. "I’d love to! Hold this please." Lily handed her coat, boots and hat to one of the men training at the time. She was curious to see if he’ll catch on the why she said yes.
Most creatures have a mating dance, but they never did theirs and if nothing else she didn’t want to be cheated out of one more experience. Stepping to the match area she noticed someone else standing there curious as to who they were. "Lily this is Zeek. He is one of the brightest and smartest fighters I know he beats me as much as I beat him. He’ll be our referee for this match. Please step forward."
Lily stretched her limbs, cracking her knuckles pulling out some bandage wrap the cover her hands. She knew this would be a long fight and it looked like some more people were coming in. She wasn’t trying to make a spectacle of herself, but with the growing crowd she didn’t think she had a choice.
Walking over to Dran she was a bit nervous since she wasn’t one to preform in front of crowds. "Do we have to do this here? There’s a lot of people here and more coming in." Dran patted her back whispering in her ear. "Don’t worry just keep your eyes on me. Focus on me and you’ll be fine."
She nodded thinking this might help, but her nerves were still the same. Zeek walks over to them in the middle of the arena. "Alright, basic rules. No cheap shots, eye gauging, no crouch shots, and no killing. Three pins wins the match. Fighters ready?"
Lily popped a hollow twig in her mouth to help the need for biting, nodding to Zeek she was ready. Dran could see she was serious taking a fighting stance. The crowd grew quiet as they faced each other before starting the match. He took his stance waiting for the bell.
"Ready? FIGHT!" At first neither of them moves when Lily took this opportunity to take out his legs. he jumps from his stop landing where she started. Coming to her feet she smirks glad that this wouldn’t be a simple fight. "Challenge accepted."
Dran wasn’t sure what to expect from her, but not being able to catch a break in her defenses was wearing him out. She kept up a good defense her arms like steel bars holding fast to every blow he landed then countering with a 2 punch combo or a 3 contact combo that would send him flying across the room.
Dran was breaking a sweat as she kept coming at him not letting him breath. She rushed his left side with a roundhouse kick, then back flipped to gain distance, pushing forward with a 4-punch combo, then a slap to the face. "Aaahh! B*tch did you just slap me?!" Lily taunted, a cheeky smile on her face as she moved back into position, laughter dancing in her eyes. "Come on, baby boy. That just tickled your pride." Lily mocked, beckoning him forward with her hand.
The smile he had on his face ignited a fire in her that almost made her lost focus as he got back into position. "Last three blows wins it." Zeek could see that they could do this all night. She was sweating from all the fun we were having, exchanging blows. She only had a few scuff marks and her left arm was sagging, but she looked so beautiful and fierce that all he wanted to do was take her body and worship it.
Waiting for her to make the first move she didn’t disappoint when she went to the right favoring that side then moved up close sliding her body next to his distracting his senses as she got up close invading his space leaping up wrapping her legs around his waist as she twists their bodies around as she grabbed both his arms pulling them behind his back straddling his thighs pinning him to the ground.
"I win." Lily whispered in his ear as he drops his head in defeat Zeek, shit eating grin and all, clapping on the sidelines, "Holy sh*t! Now that’s what I call a win. Lily that was awesome! I haven’t seen a lot of people keep up with him."
Dran got up, rotating his shoulders, looking Lily over with a newfound respect. "I’m glad to know you can handle yourself. He’s right, not many can defeat me, let alone pin me. That was a dirty trick you played at the end though." Dran spoke over his shoulder as Lily tried looking innocent about it. She let him up, dusting herself off from the fight. Zeek handed her things back as she went about putting her boots back on. "Where did you learn to fight like that?"
"I’ve learned to use ever opportunity and option when necessary. And my father wanted me to be able to defend myself which was my hope as well. Living in a dangerous place doesn’t give you formal training to survive. I was so wrapped in my books to keep myself from going crazy. To be honest I’m....I’m not done with my research on Dragon Moss or The Lumas Flower I studied and used to graduate with. I’ve had to wait years to finish because I missed my chance to see the flower bloom here a couple months ago."
"So now you just need to solve this toxin problem then you can finish your work?" Dran asked walking over to her as the continue out of the coliseum. A servant handed him his top robe before they made their way to the streets. "Yes, my goal was to work for the best research team in the world. I want to help those without all the blood on my hands. It’s hard enough seeing how bad people are treated or left to rot. I’ve been there before."
He lace her arm in his as the reached the streets, but what he had tried to avoid had just happened. There, waiting for them outside, was Dimitri and he did not look happy to see them together. Lily instantly dropped his arm walking over to Dimitri. "When did you get here?"
Dimitri was stiff before answering her. "I saw your fight with Dran just now. What the hell were you thinking pulling a stunt like that?!"
