Captive Mate BL-Chapter 528: + - +
Chapter 528: +Chapter 528+
Davian’s expression was stormy, he had walked onto the balcony to take the call.
The sky outside was still dark, his pregnant mate sleeping peacefully as cool, salty air blew into the bedroom.
He knew that Asher wouldn’t call him if it wasn’t important. They had only a week left to spend on the island, after all. If it couldn’t wait until a week, it meant that things were already dire.
Davian could be mad at Nikolai for stirring a hornet’s nest but he knew there were no lies in Asher’s words. If it didn’t happen now, it would happen in the near future.
"We’ll return early," He said the damning words, his teeth clenched.
Asher didn’t say anything more, knowing that Davian was beyond pissed off. He would rather not be on the receiving end of that. freewebnσvel.cøm
He hung up and returned to Silvia who was still patiently sitting at the table, lost in thought.
Asher put on his fur coat as soon as he got back. He had told Caspian that he had an important appointment today and he wouldn’t be crashing their practice session, but things had changed.
He needed to have a lengthy conversation with Jael in person. And until this was all over, he had no intentions to let his mate leave the safety of his mansion.
The High Council played dirty, if they realized that he and Davian were onto them, there was no telling what they might do.
"If you’ve got any more news to share, come down to my mansion." He invited openly, "And if you need protection as well."
Silvia was touched by this offer, but taking Angelo to Asher’s turf would definitely piss off Nikolai, and it would draw the attention of the High Council towards them.
"Thanks," She muttered, a crack in her voice. "Although, you would probably get way more useful information off Nikolai. He barely tells me anything."
Asher planned to do just that, the next few weeks were going to be extremely tense. It would be the deciding period for how things were going to turn out.
He walked out of his club with Silvia in tow, the two of them parting ways in the parking lot.
Silvia hurried into her car where she left her personal assistant waiting for her.
He was very patient, sitting up straight when she got into the passenger seat.
After temporarily closing down Frequency, Silvia didn’t keep any of her usual bodyguards around her. Save for the few very trustworthy ones she had keeping an eye on her apartment, she instead went everywhere with Cain.
She had long given him his freedom after buying him at an auction but the hulking Alpha chose to stay by her side of his own volition.
Silvia was coming to depend on him more and more without even realizing it.
"Let’s get some pastries on the way," She remembered to say as he pulled out of the parking lot.
Auburn hair wild with exotic-looking pale eyes, he looked more comfortable in the loose knit sweater he wore than he ever did in formal wear.
"How did it go?" His voice was rough but gentle, as if he wasn’t quite sure how much he could say.
Silvia sighed. She had to admit that Cain had made a lot of improvement, asking her questions about something so important was clear evidence.
"There’s good news and bad news." She started, "The good news is that Asher and Davian are going to be helping out. The bad news is that this is about to turn into an all-out war against the High Council."
Cain looked thoughtful, "You should tell Angelo." Was all he said, his words rationed.
Silvia didn’t immediately refuse, sighing again. Things had gotten really complicated that Angelo was going to find out the truth sooner or later.
But even if Angelo was dragged into the turf war, she didn’t mind much, as long as Luis Caddel was already dead before that happened. Also, she knew that Nikolai wouldn’t appreciate her tattling, so she was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Asher’s appearance was less surprising this time because he already showed up the week before.
He beelined straight to his mate, "We’re leaving early," He said to Jael who was standing right next to Caspian.
Jael’s expression dropped, the teasing light in his eyes replaced with grim darkness. He walked over to Rosie first, she was basically practicing by herself while Ivan, her trainer watched from a distance.
She put down her gun and took off her ear protectors when she saw Jael approaching, cocking a curious brow.
"We’re leaving," He informed her in a level tone, his voice low enough that Ivan couldn’t hear.
Rosie nodded, especially after handling her entire Mafia House for almost a month, she had gotten more sensitive to when things weren’t right.
"I’ll get Patty," She volunteered, emptying the bullets out of her gun as she spoke. She made sure to turn the safety on on the now empty gun before putting it into her bag.
Jael glanced over to Asher to see his Mafia King already leading Caspian out of the shooting range. So he waited behind for Rosie and Patty.
Rosie walked up the last pair, hiding her worries behind an easy smile. "Really sorry to interrupt but we’ll have to call it an early day today."
Patty frowned, noticing her Mafia King for the first time just as he stepped out of the metal doors. She was curiously itching to find out what was going on but she knew better than to ask right then, even though she thought highly of Jazz.
Jazz shortly put some distance between herself and Patty, her hazel green eyes clouded. "Sure. I understand."
Rosie wasn’t sure she did but there was no time for further conversation. She watched Patty hand over her gun to Jazz to help her unload it and subconsciously took a couple of steps back to give them some privacy.
She walked over to Jael who was standing next to the exit, her curious eyes lingering on Jazz and Patty who were standing rather close to each other.
