Chapter 104: Let Me Love You Out Loud

"You did the right thing by coming here," Alderic finally said. "We cannot let this problem fester any longer. The Nocturnal Order was created to keep balance, not only among werewolves but also between our world and the humans’. If Ronan is truly involved, we will need to act carefully, but decisively."

Charlotte listened intently, noticing how Damon’s shoulders seemed to relax slightly at the elder’s words. He must be relieved that he didn’t have to do this alone anymore.

"I will summon the other elders," Alderic continued. "You’re not just asking for help, Damon. You’re asking for the Order to interfere directly in the affairs of Suncreast City and its leadership. We need solid evidence before we proceed."

"We have some," Damon replied. "But we need your help to identify Ronan’s fingerprints on the watch without alerting him."

Alderic nodded thoughtfully, tapping his finger against the armrest. "Smart. If Ronan catches even a hint of suspicion, he’ll bury whatever remains of the evidence and vanish without a trace."

His sharp eyes flicked toward Damon. "Fortunately, we have ways of accessing the database quietly. Leave the watch and any samples you have with me. My people will handle it."

Damon gave a grateful nod. "Thank you, Elder."

Alderic then turned to Charlotte. "I can see you’re already more involved than you ever intended."

Charlotte smiled faintly. "I don’t regret it."

"You shouldn’t," Alderic said gently. "It takes more than strength to stand beside an Alpha when the storm comes. I can see that you’re stronger than you look."

For some reason, Charlotte felt her heart grow warm after hearing his words.

Before she came here, she thought the Elder would be a cold and aloof old man who disliked socializing. That was why he was rarely seen at social events. But it turned out he was a decent man, and he truly possessed the wisdom people often spoke about.

Alderic stood from his chair. "You may return to Northbridge for now. I will handle things on this end. Once we confirm the prints, I will summon you again."

Damon stood, helping Charlotte to her feet. "We will keep gathering evidence."

"Good," Alderic said. "Be careful, both of you. Ronan Warren is no ordinary opponent."

As they left the office, walking side by side through the marble halls of the headquarters, Charlotte whispered, "Do you think the Elder can really get information about the watch?"

Without hesitation, Damon answered, "Don’t worry, he’s a capable and trustworthy man."

It was actually kind of strange for him to hand over such an important piece of evidence so casually, but Charlotte knew that Damon wasn’t a reckless man. If he trusted the Elder with this, then he must have had good reason.

As they were about to leave for Northbridge, the weather suddenly turned bad. Dark clouds covered the sky, and strong winds blew hard. The pilot quickly came to Damon and Charlotte before they could get on the helicopter.

"I’m sorry, Alpha," the pilot said. "The storm is too dangerous. We can’t fly now. Maybe it will get better by evening, but I’m not sure."

Damon looked up at the sky, seeing for himself how bad it was. He knew the pilot wasn’t joking.

Charlotte gently pulled on Damon’s sleeve. "It’s okay. We can wait."

It was better to stay on the ground and wait a little longer than to force a flight and end up crashing because of the storm.

Damon sighed and nodded. "Alright, we’ll stay here for now."

Since they had no other choice, they decided to find a hotel nearby and wait until the weather improved. It wasn’t their plan, but Charlotte honestly didn’t mind. It gave her a little more time to be with Damon without worrying about anything else.

When they entered the hotel, the warm air felt nice compared to the cold wind outside. Soft yellow lights, the quiet sounds in the lobby, and the smell of fresh coffee made Charlotte feel a little more at ease.

After days of dealing with problems and things that made her head go crazy, Charlotte was finally able to relax a bit.

While Damon took care of checking them in, Charlotte decided to buy coffee for both of them and some bread to fill their stomachs before lunch.

As she waited for the order, Charlotte glanced around the cozy hotel café.

It wasn’t crowded, just a few people quietly chatting or working on their laptops. For the first time in a while, everything felt normal, no rogue werewolves, no conspiracies, no near-death situations.

Just the simple comfort of a warm drink and the soft buzz of a peaceful place.

When she returned, Damon was already waiting for her at one of the tables near the window. He smiled when he saw her, his tired eyes softening a little.

"Where do you want to drink your coffee? Here or in our room?" he asked.

Charlotte glanced around the café, then back at Damon. "Let’s go to the room," she said softly. "I think I want to lie down for a bit while we drink."

Damon nodded in agreement. "Alright."

With their coffee and bread in hand, they headed toward the elevator. Charlotte leaned slightly against Damon’s arm as they waited, finding comfort in his presence.

When they got to their room, Charlotte felt calmer right away.

The room was warm and comfortable, with soft lights and a big bed that looked very inviting. A large window showed a clear view of the city.

Even though the sky was cloudy and there was a storm coming, the city still looked pretty with soft lights shining through the mist.

Charlotte put the coffee cups on the small table near the window. "It’s really nice," she said quietly, walking closer to look outside.

Damon placed the bread next to the coffee and took off his coat, tossing it onto a chair. "I’m glad you like it."

Like it? Honestly, Charlotte didn’t care where they were, as long as Damon was by her side, anywhere would feel like home.

Without saying another word, she flopped onto the bed, letting out a soft sigh as the mattress cradled her tired body.

But before she could fully relax, Damon suddenly threw himself onto the bed beside her and rolled them both around like a playful child. In seconds, Charlotte found herself lying on top of him, their noses just inches apart.

"The view outside is so beautiful, so why are you choosing to stare at my face instead?" Charlotte asked, giggling softly.

Damon grinned. "Because no view could ever beat this one."

Charlotte felt her cheeks warm as she playfully smacked his chest. "You’re such a flirt."

"Come on." Damon chuckled, kissing the bridge of her nose. He gently twirled a strand of her long hair around his finger. "I know you love it."

Charlotte let out a soft laugh, unable to deny it. "Maybe a little."

"More than a little," Damon teased, pulling her closer so that their foreheads touched.

Their noses brushed lightly, and for a moment, neither of them moved. The only thing Charlotte could hear was the steady rhythm of Damon’s heartbeat beneath her ear.

Charlotte placed her palms on Damon’s cheeks, caressing them gently as if she were holding something as delicate as cotton. "Damon," she said softly, "do you still remember what I said in the hospital a few days ago?"

Damon’s eyes softened instantly, and he nodded without hesitation. "Of course, I remember."

Charlotte took a deep breath, gathering her courage. "I meant it," she whispered. "Every single word. I love you, Damon."

A warm, genuine smile spread across Damon’s face. His arms wrapped around her tighter as if he never wanted to let go. "I love you too, Charlotte," he whispered back. "More than you’ll ever know."

Charlotte lowered her head, gently kissing his lips.

The kiss was soft and warm, showing all the feelings she couldn’t say with words. Damon kissed her back just as gently, his thumb softly brushing her cheek.

Charlotte pulled away a little, just enough to look into his eyes. "I really love you," she whispered again, her voice shaking a little. "I love you so much."

Damon’s heart felt full, and without saying anything, he kissed her again, this time a little deeper, showing her how much he felt the same.

His fingers ran gently through her hair as if he didn’t want to ever let go.

Charlotte kept saying it between kisses, like a promise, "I love you ... I love you ... I love you ..."

Damon chuckled softly between each kiss, his heart swelling at how sweet and honest she sounded. "Say it again," he whispered, brushing his nose against hers.

"I love you," Charlotte said, smiling through her tears and laughter. "I really do."

After keeping Damon’s feelings hanging for so long, she couldn’t help but want to let him know that she was finally able to express her feelings out loud.

She wanted to love him openly, to make sure everyone knew that he was hers, and she was his.

"Sweetheart, if you keep doing this ..." Damon cupped her face gently, his voice dropping to a playful whisper. "I might eat you for lunch instead."
