Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 113: Investment
Chapter 113: Chapter 113: Investment
Jasper approached slowly, his footsteps measured.
The closer he got, the more certain he became. He wasn’t going to let this opportunity slip through his fingers.
"Hello, mysterious lady..." he said smoothly, standing just a few feet away.
Nora turned toward Jasper as if she was noticing him for the first time.
"Oh?" she murmured, her voice light but unreadable.
"I was standing in the corner and suddenly I noticed that you were all alone so I thought of accompanying you." He said with a faint smile.
"If a beautiful lady like you stands alone at a party like this," he said softly, "it would be a shame if no one kept you company."
Nora tilted her head slightly, pretending to be amused. "Oh? And you decided to be that person?"
Jasper chuckled, his voice deep and charming.
"Of course. I couldn’t just walk past and ignore you." He leaned in just a little, lowering his voice.
"A woman as mysterious as you... wearing a veil... it’s hard not to be curious."
Nora’s lips curled slightly under the veil. She knew exactly what he was trying to do.
She took a small sip from her drink, letting the silence stretch before responding. "Curiosity isn’t always a good thing, Mr...?"
"Jasper," he introduced himself smoothly. "And you are?"
Nora pretended to hesitate, then said, "Call me Bell."
Jasper smirked in his mind.
After all, from what Zain had told him, Dawn’s real name was Nora Bell.
It confirmed his suspicion that the lady in front of him was indeed Dawn.
Jasper’s eyes flickered with amusement as if hearing the name for the first time.
"Bell... a lovely name for a lovely lady."
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box.
"I was planning to save this, but... I think you deserve it more."
He opened the box, revealing a delicate diamond bracelet that sparkled under the chandelier lights.
Nora glanced at it, pretending to be surprised. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
"A gift? For someone you just met?"
Jasper smiled smoothly.
"Well, I believe in fate. And fate led me to you tonight."
He gently picked up her hand, his fingers warm against her skin. "Let me put it on for you."
Nora watched him closely. He was good—too good. Every move was practiced, every word designed to pull her in.
She let him fasten the bracelet around her wrist, then pulled her hand back slowly.
"I hope you don’t think this means I owe you anything," she said lightly.
Jasper chuckled. "Of course not. A gift should come with no expectations, only sincerity."
Harry and his friend who were standing on the side, instantly panicked.
After all, they were planning to win Dawn’s favor by pretending to be kind.
Ethan tapped on Harry’s shoulder and asked,
"What should we do now? With Jasper in our way, I don’t think we can stand out in front of Dawn."
Miles who was silent suddenly said,
"Maybe we can."
All of them turned toward Miles.
"Come here..."
..........................
Aurora arrived at the banquet and for some reason started to fantasize a little.
"Emily, what if everyone rushed toward me and asked me to invest in their company? Ah! If that person is handsome enough...I can’t disagree..."
Emily chuckled.
"You only have to repeat one line."
"What?" Aurora asked curiously.
"I will consider it," Emily said in a cold voice.
Aurora nodded and followed,
"I will consider it."
Entering the hall, Aurora took a deep breath, a sense of calmness washed over her.
As if she...she had already lived these scenes countless times.
Emily who was following behind felt a subtle shift in Aurora’s demeanor and was baffled.
"I never knew Aurora was so good at acting."
Contrary to Aurora’s expectation, no one bothered to even spare her a glance and each of them was busy on their own.
No eager businessmen. No hopeful investors. No handsome suitors.
Just... silence.
Aurora blinked, then quickly composed herself. Maybe they just haven’t noticed me yet.
She took a step forward, her heels clicking against the marble floor.
With a graceful smile, she nodded at a few guests, expecting them to approach.
Still, nothing.
Emily, walking beside her, stifled a laugh. "Looks like they’re a bit too busy for your grand entrance."
Aurora huffed, crossing her arms. "This is not how I imagined it!"
Emily smirked. "You expected them to drop everything and fight over you?"
"...Maybe," Aurora mumbled.
In the end Aurora could only find a corner and sit down with Emily.
Soon a few businessmen who had previously met Emily rushed toward Aurora and greeted her,
"Hello Miss Emily, you have finally decided to attend business parties, huh?"
Emily smiled gracefully and nodded,
"My Boss is finally ready to show her presence, so I tagged along."
The businessmen pretended to be surprised and turned toward Aurora who was wearing a veil,
"Is this Miss Dawn?"
Emily nodded.
The businessman extended his hand and introduced himself,
"Hello I am Theo Walter, the CEO and founder of the Walter’s Group."
Aurora’s eyes sparkled under the veil as she extended her hand gracefully, shaking Theo Walter’s hand.
Her movements were practiced—calm, composed, and effortlessly elegant.
"Miss Dawn," Theo said politely, his tone laced with curiosity, "it’s an honor to finally meet you. I’ve heard many things about you."
Aurora tilted her head slightly, her voice smooth as she replied,
"Oh? And what exactly have you heard?"
Theo chuckled, withdrawing his hand.
"That you’re a woman of mystery. Talented, intelligent, and... difficult to impress."
Aurora smiled under her veil. "Is that so?"
Emily, watching the exchange, subtly nudged Aurora’s arm.
Aurora took the hint and elegantly folded her hands on her lap.
"And what about you, Mr. Walter? What brings you here tonight?"
Theo’s eyes gleamed.
"Business, of course. A gathering like this is the perfect place to find new opportunities. Which is why—" he leaned in slightly, lowering his voice, "—I was hoping you might consider an investment proposal I have in mind."
Aurora barely held back a grin.
Finally! Someone asking for an investment!
Keeping her composure, she slowly turned her head toward Emily, as if pondering.
Emily, who had been guiding Aurora on how to handle these situations, gave her a barely noticeable nod.
Aurora then turned back to Theo and, in a voice as calm and poised as she could manage, said, "I will consider it."
Theo’s eyes flickered with excitement. "That’s all I ask, Miss Dawn."
Emily let out a breath of relief, proud that Aurora had followed the script correctly.
Just as Aurora was about to continue the conversation, a sudden commotion erupted from the other side of the hall.
A sharp, clear voice rang out.
"Ladies and gentlemen! It seems we have a rather interesting situation here tonight!"
Aurora’s head snapped toward the sound.
Theo and the other businessmen also turned to look.
The voice belonged to Miles.
He stood at the center of the hall, a confident smirk on his lips.
Behind him, Harry and Ethan stood, looking pleased with themselves.
Jasper, who had been comfortably charming Nora, narrowed his eyes.
What are they up to now?
Nora, still playing her role as "Bell," merely watched, intrigued.
Miles took a step forward, his voice loud enough for everyone to hear.
"It’s not every day we get to witness something as bold as a man giving a woman a diamond bracelet on their very first meeting!"
Gasps and murmurs spread through the crowd.
Aurora’s gaze followed the direction Miles was looking and found a man with above average looks, having blonde hair, and black eyes, he was wearing a black three-piece suit.
Nora, on the other hand, merely lifted her wrist, letting the diamond bracelet glimmer under the light.
Miles continued,
"But what if I told you—this isn’t the first time he’s done something like this?"
More murmurs.
Jasper’s smirk didn’t fade, but his eyes darkened.
So, they’re trying to make me look bad? How predictable.
Nora, playing along, tilted her head at Jasper.
"Oh? You have a habit of giving expensive gifts to strangers?"
Jasper turned to her, his smile never faltering. "What can I say? I have a generous heart."
Miles let out a dramatic sigh. "Generous? Or just using these gifts as a way to manipulate women?"
Emily was scrolling through her phone and said,
"Alex is already here. I will find and bring him to you."
Aurora waved her hand as she focused on the commotion, with such drama going in front of her, how could she be distracted?
Jasper chuckled, stepping forward. His entire demeanor was smooth and unbothered.
"So what exactly are you trying to say, Miles?" Jasper asked.
Miles grinned.
"Simple. I have proof that you’ve done this before—lavishing women with gifts, charming them, and then—" he dramatically gestured with his hand, "—leaving them behind once you’ve gotten what you wanted."
Gasps echoed through the hall.
Aurora covered her mouth to stop herself from laughing. This is like watching a live soap opera.
