Betrayed by Fiance, Embraced by Hidden Tycoon-Chapter 61: Fall Into His Trap
Chapter 61: Fall Into His Trap
Abigail didn’t know this place would be so cold. She thought the place would be slightly colder than the city when they left. So she only brought light clothing, which she usually wears in late summer weather. She didn’t even pack her hoodie because her bag would be too full.
After Abigail grabbed a pair of black silk short pajamas and her skincare products, she headed to the bathroom outside.
Feeling exhausted after a busy morning at the café and a three-hour journey to reach this remote location, she needed a warm bath to relax her stiff muscles.
However,
Abigail didn’t take long to shower. She remembered that Sawyer would be using the bathroom after her.
Once she finished, she put on her pajamas and wrapped her long, wet hair in a dry towel before quickly leaving the bathroom.
When Abigail came out of the bathroom, she was panicked to hear Sawyer’s steps climbing the stairs.
She didn’t want him to see her appearance, so she quickly walked toward her room. However, he had already reached the second floor before she could open the door.
"Ah, sorry, Abby... I thought you were done," he said.
Abigail swallowed silently, gripping the doorknob tightly. She dared not turn to face him.
"Sorry, I took too long in the shower. Goodnight, Sawyer..." she replied, quickly opening the door and slipping into the bedroom. Her heart raced as she could still feel Sawyer’s eyes on her back.
"Good night, Abby. Have a good night’s sleep." Sawyer’s voice came from outside, followed by the closing of the bathroom door.
Too nervous to move, she stood behind the door, placing her hand on her chest, trying to calm her racing heart. She could feel her face heat up.
’Oh my gosh, Abby! He might think you are wearing these sexy pajamas on purpose to attract his attention, right!?’
Abigail tried to put aside her guess as she slowly dragged her feet to the mirror near the cupboard and looked at her appearance. She could only shake her head and smile stupidly.
"Seriously, Abby, why do you bring this kind of sleeping wear in the forest!?" She was speechless.
Abigail dried her hair while trying to push Sawyer from her mind. However, no matter how hard she tried, his words about his feelings lingered, causing her to blush again.
She finally decided to stop drying her hair, even though it was still damp.
After lying on the soft bed, Abigail took her cell phone. She scrolled through social media, hoping to distract herself from Sawyer’s confession. The distraction worked for a while, but she accidentally opened her alternate Instagram account. She created the account to showcase all her past projects before becoming the exclusive architect for Urbangrid Innovation.
Looking at her last post—her Gold award-winning design from an international competition for environmentally friendly houses, which she had entered four years ago during her final year at university.
Curious, she tried to check the direct message on her Instagram account but failed to log in after a while. Four years was too long for her to remember her password.
"Geez! I guess I need to check my laptop," Abigail sighed deeply as she placed her cell phone on the bedside table. She saved her password information on her laptop but left it at home.
When she was about to turn off the light completely, she remembered Sawyer.
"Did he finish taking a shower?" She tried to hear, but nothing could be heard.
After a few more seconds, she turned off all the lights, plunging the room into near darkness. A faint glow filtered in from the moonlight as she deliberately opened the curtains slightly.
When she tried to close her eyes, a buzzing sound interrupted the silence from her phone.
Lazily, she picked up her cell phone to check the new incoming text. Her eyebrows arched slightly when she saw that it was a message from Sawyer:
"Hi, I just wanted to check if you can sleep. You don’t have to reply if you’re already asleep. Have a good rest, Abby."
"Geez, this man..." Abigail couldn’t help but cover her eyes with her arm and laugh bitterly, realizing she had fallen into his trap. Of course, he would know she was reading the text because the check mark had turned blue.
Her exhaustion and sleepiness faded as she read Sawyer’s message several times. Moments later, she decided to reply.
"Just about to sleep. I hope you’re comfortable downstairs, Sawyer. Is the stove working?"
After sending the text, she waited for his response, but a few minutes passed, and he didn’t reply.
"Did he fall asleep?"
She tried to hear any movement downstairs but heard nothing. After a few more minutes of silence and still no reply from him, she set her cell phone back on the nightstand and slipped under her warm, soft blanket.

The Next Morning.
Abigail woke up at her alarm ringing, breaking the morning’s silence. With her eyes still half-open, she reached for her cell phone to turn it off.
Although she felt groggy, Abigail forced herself to awaken fully. She needed to head downstairs to prepare breakfast.
However, before leaving her room, she checked her reflection in the mirror and was taken aback by how messy her hair looked.
After styling her hair into a simple bun, she changed out of her pajamas into a black T-shirt and matching yoga pants.
Relieved that she didn’t see Sawyer outside her bedroom, she quietly went to the bathroom to quickly complete her morning routine before rushing to the first floor.
When Abigail arrived on the first floor, she was surprised to find no sign of Sawyer. There were no folded blankets or even his sleeping bag in sight.
"Where is he? Did he sleep in the small cabin?" she wondered but dismissed the thought when she noticed the wooden stove still burning with fresh wood.
She walked over to the window to look outside, and a relieved smile spread across her face when she saw him stepping out of a shed just a few meters from the main cabin.
"So, he’s checking the electric batteries," she mumbled while waiting for him near the door.
