’Level 4?!’ Valen’s eyes brightened. He never expected the nutrient solution to be so effective.

"Since I’m only a little away from Level 5, I’ll just use some of my purple coins to level up." He mumbled as he withdrew all the purple coins in his possession — which only amounted to 6.

He closed his eyes and began to absorb the trophic within them. One... two... three.

It was only when the third coin was sapped of all its trophic did Valen finally feel a change. His senses sharpened to a great degree, but as his room was soundproof, he couldn’t hear anything beyond the doors.

He checked his Evolution Branch and realised that the Beast Gene was still in its ’infancy’. This made him slightly disappointed, but he suspected he would have to reach Level 10 for significant changes to occur. Level 10 was a major evolution point for all Evolvers after all.

Suddenly, Valen felt that familiar pang of hunger, causing his expression to change. Thankfully, he had a lot of food stockpiled in his Inventory Ring.

He probably couldn’t finish them all in the 12 hours he was going to spend in the Astral Veil, so he didn’t mind eating a bit.

Once he felt his hunger subside, he summoned his profile and took a look at it.

"Attaining Level 5 on my first day of Evolution ought to be amazing, right? But I’m not the only one who had the S-Rank Nutrient Solution, and I also have the drawback of needing several times more resources than the others. From Aaliyah’s words, it seems that a great change has swept the world, and I need to increase my strength greatly. I’ve done all I could, I can only hope it’s useful." Valen murmured, staring out from his balcony at the last rays of sunlight.

He didn’t know what had happened. But for the top guilds and ancient households to be so desperate to increase their new Evolvers’ strength, he figured it wasn’t anything ordinary or simple.

Shaking his head with a sigh, he decided to leave those thoughts for now. Whatever it was, he would face it tomorrow.

He turned his attention to the Shadow Sabre on his bed. He picked it up and observed it closely. It had no sheath and its blade and handle were pitch black.

Within this darkness, however, he could make out faint cracks. Valen figured that this was probably why Aaliyah advised he used it sparingly.

Given how ancient it seemed, every attack made by this sword would only increase the cracks further until someday, it was destroyed.

He activated the inspect skill, wanting to search for the information of this sabre from the system’s database. However, what surprised him were the following words from the system:

System: [Insufficient skill level. Information cannot be viewed.]

Valen suddenly remembered that he only possessed the ’Basic Inspect Skill’. He could only smile wryly and put away the Shadow Sabre for now.

An Evolver could only unlock the Intermediate Inspect Skill once they were at Level 10. After all, the higher the skill level, the more information one could access. It would be disastrous if a level 1 Evolver could get information far above his grade.

Once Valen put away the Shadow Sabre and dumped the wastes that remained after his wild eating session, he walked to the door of his room and stomped down three times.

Then he walked to the wardrobe area and stomped once more. Then the window and finally before the bed.

Once he completed this series of actions, a robotic voice sounded from the ceiling of his room: "What will happen in ten years time?"

Valen’s expression was calm as he responded: "The fall of the abyss... or the rise of Greenfield’s First King."

"Voice synchronisation complete. Passcode is deemed accurate. Granting access."

Immediately, a tile on the floor at the centre of his room shifted, revealing a gap beneath. Still, Valen didn’t move and chuckled instead.

"Stop messing around."

The robotic voice sounded once more: "Second Passcode Deemed Accurate."

Only then did Valen move from his spot and approach the gap in the ground. He dipped his right arm into the hole and retrieved a Silver Box from it, smiling.

This was the ’safe’ place he had kept the Silver King’s Power Suit. He couldn’t risk losing it, so he had even set up a three-step verification process.

Even if, somehow, a person got granted access, if he couldn’t chuckle and say the exact same words he said, they’ll be shot down by the hidden lasers in the room.

If they managed to do all that against the odds, but didn’t place their right arm in first, they’ll still be shot down. In this world, there was no such thing as being overly cautious, there were only people who weren’t cautious enough.

Once the Silver Box was in his hands, he initiated the transformation process. Soon, he was fully clad in silver armour with robotic spider arms extending from behind him.

A silvery white flame enveloped his face, while a small device had extended from his shoulder, entering his left ear.

Alex’s voice sounded from within: "Welcome back, Master."

Valen smiled as he replied: "Thanks."

Following which, he began to observe the Power Suit more closely. He discovered a few things he had neglected initially. One of them being the small, folded tires that were in his silver boots.

He couldn’t help but ask: "Alex, don’t I possess boosters for flight or cannons like other Power Suits? I don’t remember hearing about them in the abilities you had listed earlier."

Alex’s mechanical voice sounded in his ears the next moment.

"Master, you had only asked about the abilities, and not the installed components or energy sources of the Power Suit, so I only gave you the abilities. If you want, I can reveal the full information of the Silver Power Suit."

Valen was at a loss for words. He had forgotten that Alex wasn’t as advanced as the Humanity System, so it only gave the answers to what he had asked. It strictly followed a code of conduct and couldn’t diverge or improvise.

No, even the Humanity System had times of faltering. Perhaps this was the fundamental difference between the Artificial and Natural.

Valen gave Alex the command to display the full information of the Silver King’s Power Suit, not omitting the slightest detail.

Valen had to listen several times before finally donning the Silver helmet so the words could be displayed before his eyes to believe what he was seeing.

His jaw dropped as he couldn’t completely process the words floating before him.

SSS-rank? He had never heard of such a ranking for equipment, weapons, or items before. And the Power Suit was supposedly damaged. Then what was its rank at its peak?

Also, he had a few queries he had to clarify with Alex, for his speculations sounded like the deliberate joke of a madman.

"Alex, what in the world is a 5-Branch Silver Core? And the ice and wind component’s abilities... are they what I think they are?"

Alex simultaneously responded to Valen’s query: "A 5-Branch Silver Core is a unique crystal that possesses the five major elemental energies. Due to this special characteristic, the Silver King Power Suit was built to wield all five elemental energies. Now that it’s damaged, the other energies have long dissipated, leaving only ice and wind. Yes, Master, the component’s abilities are what you think they are."

"I have a superpower," Valen muttered under his breath, feeling ecstatic. Who hadn’t dreamt of flying through the sky, blasting flames and firing laser beams?

Now, all that could be achieved with the Silver King’s Power Suit. But it was damaged and could only contain two energies.

Valen’s brow creased as he asked: "Alex, is there any way to repair the Silver Core back to its peak state?"

Alex replied immediately: "The Silver Core cannot be repaired. It can only be replaced. However, statistics have shown that the appearance of a 2-Branch Silver Core is one in a million, while a 3-Branch Silver Core is one in ten million. Back then, the Sages of the past had united the world and even ventured to other galaxies before they could procure three 3-Branch Silver Cores for the 3 Silver Generals, and six 2-Branch Silver Cores for the 6 Silver Commanders."

Valen’s heart sank. This was the worst-case scenario. Unless he could venture into other galaxies, find a 5-Branch Silver Core and craft anew a Silver King Power Suit, he would have to make do with this one.

Although humans from Greenfield had entered the Interstellar Era, unless one was Level 100 — when they could take their promotion challenge and step into Rank 1 from Rank 0 — they weren’t allowed to pilot a spaceship.

Lower-levelled Evolvers could only tag along on a spaceship as workers and wouldn’t have a say in wherever the ship ventured.

Unless Valen could somehow become a Rank 1 this instant, he wouldn’t be able to travel freely across the universe.

Just when despair set in, Alex’s child-like mechanical voice sounded once again:

"Although it cannot be repaired, the Silver King’s Power Suit contains a second protocol designed exactly for such a scenario. The Silver Cores not only possess other elemental energies, but also have a unique energy that can neutralise the force within the others.

With the second protocol and your 5-Branch Silver Core, all the master needs to do is find the cores of other elemental energies and insert them into the Silver King’s Power Suit. The 5-Branch Silver Core would then neutralise their destructive force, allowing you to wield all five types of elemental energy."
