True Incubus: The Demon with No Limits
Chapter 10: Sympathy card.
It happened when Lucian walked into his classroom.
Unlike what he was expecting, where he simply kept his head down, moved to his seat in the back corner of the class and no one noticed him.
The exact opposite happened.
The news about his parents had already spread across the entire class, most students knew about it, so a few of them, mostly girls who had never once looked at him, came to his desk, asking if he was alright or if he needed any help.
The moment the first girl approached, Lucian’s dick began to throb and his thoughts turned darker and darker, but he controlled himself, he smiled politely and gave short answers, making sure the conversation didn’t continue.
But things didn’t go his way.
After the first group, came the second, then the third, the fourth, the fifth.
It felt like a race, where one by one, girls came to him, asked whether he was fine, tried to talk to him, all this while, he continued to give short, polite answers while his body was already at its breaking point.
Lucian did not know what was happening, he did not know why he was getting so much attention.
He reasoned it was out of pity or sympathy, but that was not it.
While some girls came with genuine concern or pity, some came simply because they wanted to appear kind in front of others, a few came because Lucian looked noticeably more attractive, while some... only came because everyone else did.
And in between all this, Lucian had it the worst.
Their scents, different perfumes, shampoo, warm skin, filled the air around him and made a mess of his body, and as if that wasn’t enough, some girls began touching him, patting his shoulders, or his arms.
Lucian’s blood flared up.
Dark, violent thoughts kept flashing in his mind, pinning them down, ripping their clothes off, fucking them right there on the desks until they screamed his name.
And as these thoughts continued to get stronger and stronger, Lucian had no choice but to leave.
...
Back inside the classroom, a boy named Ryan, a student who often picked on Lucian for being weak and useless, watched everything with a bitter expression.
Ever since he came here, he had seen four different groups of girls approach Lucian politely and he sent every single one of them away like he couldn’t care less.
It was a sour, distasteful sight.
He didn’t like how Lucian was using his dead parents to get the girls’ attention, it was lowly, almost pathetic.
"What the fuck?"
Ryan cursed, loud enough for the girls to hear.
"What’s with that sudden temper? You were only trying to be there for him."
He spoke, looking at the girls, trying to rile them against him. The girls, however, shook their heads.
"His parents were murdered, Ryan. The last thing we should worry about is him snapping at us."
A girl named Mia answered, she was one of the few who actually cared. This was also the reason she was defending Lucian right now.
And since she spoke up and took the stand, the rest of the girls followed.
"Exactly. It was our mistake to begin with."
A girl named Sofia nodded.
"Not even a day has passed since it happened, the memory must be fresh in his mind, us surrounding him like that to talk about such a sensitive topic when he isn’t even finished mourning wasn’t right."
"Yes, we should have been more careful. We probably shouldn’t have crowded him like that."
Another girl named Rachel agreed.
The rest of the girls all nodded, coming together to defend Lucian.
"Yeah, he wasn’t ready to talk about it, but we shouldn’t have forced him. It actually shows control that he only snapped at us and walked away. Anyone else in his position might have pushed us aside."
The girls nodded to those words too, the more they talked, the better their opinion of Lucian became.
Ryan, on the other hand, laughed at those words.
"Heh, you are mistaking weakness with control. He didn’t push you because he had strong control, he did it cuz he is a pussy who even a child can beat."
"And? So what if he’s weak?"
Mia snapped.
"We live in a lawful society, one doesn’t have to be physically strong to do well. If I were you, instead of talking shit about Lucian, I would work on myself.
Guy’s parents are dead and instead of sympathizing or being there for him, you are trying to insult him.
Have some shame!"
She raised her voice, instantly turning all the girls in the class against Ryan. Ryan clenched his fists and snapped back as well—
"Not everyone’s a fool like you. I am not going to fall for the sympathy card just to feel good about myself."
"Sympathy card...?"
Mia blinked in disbelief.
"What else is it? If he doesn’t want to talk about it, just say that. What’s the point of acting all mysterious about it?
Also, mourning?
That guy looks like he’s mourning to you?
Did you not see him?
His face looks fresher and cleaner than ever, his hair looks like he applied some hair gel, and did you not see his eyes?
He was literally using colored contact lenses!
What part of him looks like he’s mourning to you?"
He raised his voice.
"Everyone has their own way to deal with loss, you do not get to decide who does what!"
Mia didn’t back down either, but at this point, Ryan didn’t care.
"Believe what you want, I always knew you were a fool."
He shrugged in annoyance.
Then, he looked at the three of his friends and—
"I am hungry, let’s go."
The boys smirked meaningfully and the group started walking out. Sofia, Ryan’s girlfriend, quickly stood up and followed them out.
After all, she knew Ryan wasn’t leaving because he was ’hungry’, he wanted to go find Lucian.
Sofia smiled at the thought of what was going to happen, but at the same time, she was also going there to stop Ryan from going too far.
After all, she knew how nasty he could get when he was jealous.
Whatever it was, Lucian was still grieving, even if she wanted to have a little fun, the last thing she wanted was for him to actually get hurt.
Sofia glanced at her two friends, Jessica and Monica, and gestured for them to follow her, curious, her friends tagged along, and the entire group of six left the classroom to find a single student.
A student who was currently a far bigger mess than any of them realized.
