"I’m so sorry, we’re a bit busy today, so the orders are coming out slowly. It’ll be right out! The chef is just putting on the finishing touches. I’ll get you a to-go box right now."

The clerk at the front desk looked a little embarrassed. She had noticed the man had been sitting there for twenty minutes, clearly waiting for someone. He hadn’t rushed them once, so she was surprised the woman wanted to leave the moment she arrived.

"Please hurry. We have somewhere to be."

Yun Zijin looked at the clerk and said calmly.

"I’ll go hurry them up for you."

With that, the clerk walked into the kitchen and came back a moment later with an order of mochi.

"Here’s the mochi you ordered. I’ll pack it up for you now.

We’re a bit busy today, so I’m sorry for making you wait so long. These are some cookies our chef made in-house. Please take them as our treat."

The clerk packed the mochi, then took a box of cookies from the counter and placed it in a small bag as a small token of apology.

"No problem. How much is it?"

Sheng Yang took the two bags, pulling out his phone to pay as he asked the clerk.

"That’ll be 98 yuan. But since you had a bad experience today, I’ll give you a ten percent discount. So, it’s just 88 yuan."

It was as expensive as ever, but there was no denying their food was truly delicious.

"Let’s go. I just contacted Hengchuang Law Firm. Their lawyer, Tang Yu, happens to be in the office today. If we hurry, we might catch him."

Lawyers are incredibly busy; one moment of delay and they could already be out of Dijing.

The trip from the dessert shop to the Dingsi Building took less than an hour. Yun Zijin led Sheng Yang to the executive elevator and took them directly to the floor where Hengchuang Law Firm was located.

"Miss Yun, welcome! Lawyer Tang is still in his office. If you and this gentleman would please wait in the conference room for a moment."

The law firm’s receptionist immediately put on a welcoming smile when she saw Yun Zijin.

She remembered that Mr. Xu himself had brought Yun Zijin here last time. Regardless of who Yun Zijin was, Xu Yuanfu was the sole representative for the owner of the Dingsi Building, and they had to treat him with the utmost respect. By extension, the same courtesy applied to any client he brought with him.

Sheng Yang was thinking of the Lawyer Tang he’d heard about, wondering if it could really be such a coincidence.

"What do you mean?"

Yun Zijin wasn’t very familiar with the legal world, so she didn’t understand the significance of the "Lawyer Tang" Sheng Yang was referring to.

"You know, the ’ace attorney’ who never loses a case! I only know people call him Lawyer Tang, though. I don’t know his full name or which firm he’s with.

"Only in videos. Never in person."
