Everyone over there was dumbfounded. The disciples from the great families, in particular, stood with their mouths agape, their minds still struggling to process what had just happened. ’Where did that terrifyingly ferocious Spirit Beast come from? And how could this young man, who’s only at the Celestial Shattering Realm, possess such miraculous and frightening combat techniques and a Heart Method?’

"Young man, leave her alive!" Xu Gui roared from a distance. He unleashed a massive wave of power, sending four Elders from the Four Seasons Sect flying.

He then shot toward the gray-robed old crone like a bolt of lightning.

Qin Li had already raised his Blood-Drinking Divine Sword. Hearing Xu Gui’s words and recalling his earlier request, he gently lowered it. Then, he lifted his foot and kicked the gray-robed old crone through the air toward Xu Gui.

"This old bitch is all yours!"

The vicious strike from Qin Li’s knee had completely destroyed the old crone’s Dantian. Now, her vast Primordial Power flooded her meridians, causing her once-withered body to swell up instantly. Her face had already been slapped by Qin Li until it resembled a pig’s head.

Even the other Elders from the Four Seasons Sect wouldn’t have believed this person was their Senior Sister if they hadn’t witnessed the process with their own eyes.

Just then, Xu Gui’s voice, filled with grief and fury, rang out in a desperate roar, "You old hag, do you remember him? The young man you severely injured all those years ago, the one you almost killed? And for what reason? For supposedly seducing a disciple of your Four Seasons Sect! You’re just an unwanted bitch yourself, taking your anger out on others! Back then, did you ever imagine you’d end up like this today?"

The gray-robed old crone lay on the ground, blood continuously pouring from her mouth. Her face was so swollen it looked like a pig’s head, squeezing her already small, triangular eyes into thin slits.

A wheezing sound, like a broken bellows, escaped her throat. Upon hearing his words, the old crone began to cackle. She spoke in fits and starts, "Remember? How could I forget you? Back then, you fell for Ye Qianyu... that little slut. The two of you, so sickeningly sweet, acting like a perfect immortal couple. That shameless... little slut, Ye Qianyu... actually wanted... to leave with you. How could I... ever let you have your way? HA HA! I ruined her! I made her spend her entire life just like me! It makes me so happy, so very happy!"

The disciples from the great families and sects exchanged glances. They never could have imagined that the Grand Elder of the Four Seasons Sect, who had been chatting and laughing with them just moments before, was such a twisted person to the core.

"You’re happy? I’m happy too!" Xu Gui stood before the gray-robed crone, a smile on his face. "At least today, I can reunite with her. I can still take her away from this place! But you? You can only lie here and wait for death! Tell me, shouldn’t I be happy?"

The old crone’s voice was filled with resentment. "Hmph, who do you think you are? If it weren’t for that little bastard Qin Li, how could this old woman possibly have lost? So what if you get your revenge? You can only kill a helpless me! This old woman is already a cripple. Kill me, cut me up, do whatever you want. But even in death, this old woman will curse Ye Qianyu and Shangguan Shiyu, those two—"

Before the old crone could finish, a large foot stomped viciously onto her face, mashing her mouth to a pulp and forcing the words back down her throat.

Xu Gui lifted his foot and sneered, "Don’t think an old man like me can’t do something rash. You old bitch, I’m much younger than you! Did you think saying that would make me spare your worthless life? In your dreams! I came here today for the sole purpose of killing you!"

With that, he stomped on the old crone’s Dantian. She let out a bloodcurdling scream. The four Elders from the Four Seasons Sect wanted to step forward and stop him, but after exchanging a look, they all halted.

Their strongest Grand Elder had been beaten to this state. Even if they went up there, what could they change? They might just end up getting themselves killed, too.

The hatred in Xu Gui’s chest had been building for a hundred years. Its release today was utterly cathartic. With stomp after stomp, he crushed every bone in the old crone’s body. Finally, he unleashed all his strength and kicked her body far into the distance.

Only then did he let out a long breath and roar at the sky.

From beginning to end, Ye Qianyu just stood there quietly, not saying a single word to stop him. The icy coldness that used to be on her face was gone, replaced by a blissful, happy smile.

Seeing this, the four Elders of the Four Seasons Sect could only sigh deeply. If the Grand Elder hadn’t forcibly separated the lovers back then, Ye Qianyu would have left with Xu Gui a hundred years ago. Why else would she have wasted a century of her life? And back then, they had all been accomplices. Now, seeing that the once-average young man had become so powerful, they all felt a deep sense of unease.

Ye Qianyu glanced impassively at the other Elders and said, "You should go back. What happened here has nothing to do with you. The only one I hated was the Grand Elder! If the Sect Leader returns, please pass on a message for me. Tell her that Ye Qianyu has exiled herself from the Sect! She is going into seclusion from now on!"

The Elders’ faces showed a mixture of gratitude and guilt. They could only nod in agreement.

Ye Qianyu then turned her head toward Qin Li. She bowed slightly, giving him a formal salute, and said softly, "Qin Li, I apologize for my past actions. I’m sorry. I hope you can forgive me."

Shangguan Shiyu said gently, "Master..."

Ye Qianyu reached out and gently caressed Shangguan Shiyu’s flawless face twice. She smiled. "Shiyu, your master has wronged you. I brought you here from the secular world with the intention of using you. Now, I apologize. You’re free. Go with Qin Li, he’s a good man!"

Qin Li glanced at Ye Qianyu. Having lived two lives, he could understand her current state of mind. Now that she could be with the one she loved, she had let go of everything else. In the words of cultivators, this was an epiphany. She had suddenly seen through everything and achieved a great enlightenment.

Qin Li was not a petty person. He followed the principle of ’if you respect me an inch, I’ll respect you a foot’. Although this woman had been quite annoying in the past—self-righteous, with a cold and strange temper—she was, after all, Shiyu’s master. Moreover, she was the woman of his good friend Xu, a man from a different generation.

He smiled slightly and looked at Ye Qianyu. "Elder Ye, since you’ve been able to let it go, what’s there for me to hold onto? It’s a joyous occasion that you and Xu have been able to mend your broken mirror. Congratulations!"

Ye Qianyu’s face flushed red. She glanced at Xu Gui, who was gazing at her with deep affection, and nodded lightly. She walked to his side and said softly, "Let’s go. I don’t want to stay here a moment longer!"

"Me neither. We should have left this place together a hundred years ago," Xu Gui said in a low voice.

"Yes. In that respect, I’m far inferior to my own disciple," Ye Qianyu murmured to herself. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Xu Gui cupped his fist toward Qin Li in a salute, then left gracefully with Ye Qianyu.

Qin Li pulled Shangguan Shiyu over to him, a gentle smile on his face. "Shiyu, let’s go home."

Shangguan Shiyu gazed at Qin Li, entranced. In her eyes and in her heart, there was only him. No matter how the handsome young prodigies from the super-factions of Profound Island tried to display their charm, she never once spared them a glance.

’If you had seen me at my ugliest, would you still be giving me those charming smiles?’

Qin Li took Shangguan Shiyu’s delicate, boneless-feeling hand. Without so much as a glance at the young disciples from the great families and sects, who all wore complicated expressions, he prepared to leave.

The Qin Family in Fengsha City was under immense pressure. That family had treated him well. His mother and that so-called father of his were there, and he would never want to see any harm come to them.

So, with matters here concluded, it was time to leave. Bing Mengyun had not appeared from beginning to end, which was a relief to Qin Li. Even he found that terrifyingly powerful woman to be a thorny problem. A direct confrontation was out of the question. Although she didn’t seem to dare to kill him, he had severely damaged the Four Seasons Sect today. Who knew what she was thinking?

So, the sooner they left, the better. Qin Li turned around and smiled at the two Mountain Guard Disciples of the Four Seasons Sect, who were standing there dumbfounded. "Ladies, would you like to leave with us?"

Shangguan Shiyu, holding Qin Li’s hand, gave it a light pinch. In a perfectly calm voice, she said softly, "They are both nice girls. You can consider it."

"Er..." Qin Li was rendered speechless. He waved awkwardly at the two girls. "Goodbye!"

The four young men from the Cold Sword Cui Family, the Sword Killing Lin Family, the Thousand Mechanism Sect, and the Sword Concealment Manor, along with their retinues, were mostly glaring at Qin Li with anger.

Superiority, condescension, pride... these were words that had always been reserved for them. But today, right here, someone else was embodying them.

And this person was a disciple from a minor family they wouldn’t even deign to notice!

Thus, feeling ignored, a nameless rage ignited in their hearts.

’That’s right, you’re powerful, and you have a mysterious Spirit Beast helping you, but so what? Do you think things would have gone so smoothly today if we had interfered? If even one of us had expressed a desire to protect this Sect, would you have dared to act against her?’

What they found even harder to accept was that the girl who had captivated all of them had eyes only for that one young man!

The disciple from Sword Concealment Manor was quite handsome, but his eyes were somewhat gloomy. He looked at Qin Li and said in a sardonic tone, "Friend, aren’t you being a bit too arrogant? Do you really think you can just ignore our presence and leave so calmly?"

Qin Li turned and looked calmly at the young man, a hint of exasperation deep in his eyes. It seemed these disciples from prominent families were all born with a sense of superiority that left one speechless.

"Do I know you? What I do is none of your business," Qin Li said indifferently. He continued, "And another thing, would it kill you to have less of that condescending sense of superiority?"
