You are all bad women! Don't come over!-Chapter 435 - 420
Han Muxue suddenly lost her strength, but she smiled at the corner of her mouth.
Cai Yuncui looked at the two of them in shock, while Xia Qingrou staggered back two steps, nearly falling over.
"You, when did you two get together?" Xia Qingrou's voice trembled.
"I didn't mean anything by it, I just wanted to tell you."
Han Muxue held Shen Mochen's hand high, as if she were holding up a trophy of glory.
"Aren't you going to congratulate us?"
Han Muxue spoke again, not looking at anyone as she deliberately avoided everyone's gaze.
"Congra, congratulations..." Cai Yuncui mechanically responded, her eyes dazed.
Shen Mochen was very familiar with this expression; it was the look of a brain overloaded and giving up on thought.
"This is so sudden, truly catching one off guard," Liu Chaoyan said with a smile, though her smile was faint.
"We're just saying, we're... going back to our room first."
Han Muxue bowed her head deeply, pulling Shen Mochen's hand and leaving without looking back.
Liu Chaoyan looked indifferently at the two beside her, who were dispirited, and then glanced at the retreating figures of Han Muxue and Shen Mochen, the corners of her mouth involuntarily curving.
The victor, yet appearing to flee in disarray.
It's almost over now, I have to see whether you're really a good child or a bad child...
...
Shen Mochen followed Han Muxue back to his bedroom and gently closed the door. At this moment, his eyes were not filled with anger, but were unusually calm.
He couldn't believe he could be so calm at a time like this.
It had been previously agreed that the two of them would keep their relationship secret for a simple reason: both had needs they didn't want others to know about. Shen Mochen, needless to say, and Han Muxue didn't want Xia Qingrou and Cai Yuncui to know either.
But today, Han Muxue had actually spoken about it. She must have been very clear about the kind of impact it would cause Cai Yuncui and Xia Qingrou.
"Why did you tell others about this?" Shen Mochen asked quietly, "I'm not blaming you."
Han Muxue didn't speak, head bowed, and Shen Mochen didn't rush her, quietly waiting instead.
"I... I don't know." Han Muxue slowly lifted her head, clutching it as tears fell like rain, "I feel like I'm going crazy, I'm going to lose my mind!"
"It's alright, take your time..."
Shen Mochen wanted to comfort her, but before he could finish, an invisible weight pressed down on him, and he couldn't stand, falling to the ground.
Han Muxue fell out of the wheelchair, propped herself up on two arms, and moved on top of Shen Mochen, her eyes shooting out a look of angry despair.
"I don't know, it feels so awful... I know you only pity me, I've never dared to hope... Why do you give me hope... I can't breathe when I see you with another woman... Why are you so happy? I don't know... I don't know, you're clearly my boyfriend, why don't you love me! Whimper... Why do so many girls like you, I know you and Xia Qingrou are actually very close... but I can't stand it, I feel like I'm going crazy, do you understand! I know I'm not worthy, I know I'm not worthy!"
Han Muxue lay on top of Shen Mochen, her tears dropping pitter-patter, her expression almost mad, her words jumbled and confused.
Han Muxue's emotions, Shen Mochen had already felt them.
Her mouth was twisted into a smile, her eyes swimming with tears.
Shen Mochen's expression changed slightly, "Muxue, stop, calm down!"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." Han Muxue muttered.
"No way!"
Shen Mochen reached out to stop her, but his body felt as if it had been filled with lead; he could not even lift his hands, let alone muster the strength to speak.
He somewhat regretted letting Fuzi go; if she were here, she could have stopped all of this. Liu Chaoyan might have heard what was happening in his room, but Shen Mochen didn't expect her to come out and lend a hand at this time!
"Why... why am I not enough! Do you look down on me that much? Because I'm disabled, because I'm like a child! What do I have to do... for you to take another look at me!"
Han Muxue finally broke down, screaming sharply with tears spilling from the corners of her eyes again, her gaze filled with anger and despair as she cried miserably.
Her crying was so painful, her face contorted, her voice seeming to be squeezed out from her throat.
As if she had been abandoned.
At that moment, the restrictions pressing down on Shen Mochen vanished. Shen Mochen took a deep breath, "Muxue..."
But as soon as he began to speak, Han Muxue screamed angrily, "I don't want to hear!"
The heavy force pressed down on Shen Mochen again, leaving him dizzy and unable to utter a word.
"I was the first, I was the first!"
Han Muxue wept bitterly, pounding on Shen Mochen's chest as she cried. Suddenly, she grabbed the teddy bear on her chest and yanked hard; the platinum chain thread through the teddy broke after leaving a deep mark on her neck.
Holding the teddy, she furiously smashed it against the ground repeatedly. But as the teddy stayed in the palm of her hand, ultimately, she only wore her own fingers to a bloody pulp.
Shen Mochen stared blankly at Han Muxue's self-destructive behavior, and suddenly, enlightenment struck; the image of Han Muxue before him began to superimpose with that of a little girl from years past.
He remembered; as a child, he seemed to have indeed met Han Muxue.
It was when Yin Huailian's parents were still alive. Once, Yin Huailian caught pneumonia, so her parents gathered some money and sent her to a hospital in the district, and Shen Mochen went along to take care of her.
But the little girl in the bed next door was always noisy, cursing and throwing things around, spitting—her temper was awful and greatly disturbed Yin Huailian's rest. Yin's father tried to communicate to no avail, sighing in resignation. The little girl seemed to be disabled—Shen Mochen only overheard the nurses whispering that her life was ruined.
Actually, Shen Mochen didn't care about that little girl whose life was destroyed, but her frantic noise was affecting Yin Huailian's rest. So he took initiative and cozy up to the little girl.
Shen Mochen had always known he was good-looking from a young age; girls his age liked to play with him, and even the most ill-tempered people wouldn't be angry with him unless they were jealous.
Shen Mochen was also adept at using this to his advantage, so it took him less than half a day to quiet down the little girl. He had given her this purple teddy bear, but it wasn't anything valuable—it was something he found next to a trash can, initially intended to clean and give to Yin Huailian but ultimately handed to the little girl.
After all, even for Shen Mochen from the slums, a plastic teddy bear found next to a trash can was nothing rare—one could always find similar items if they looked hard enough.
The subsequent story wasn't anything special. Yin Huailian was discharged from the hospital after two days, and Shen Mochen never saw the little girl again.
As for what they had spoken about, Shen Mochen truly couldn't remember.
That should count as the entirety of their story.
