Ultimate Cash System-Chapter 97: Monster!!
Chapter 97: Monster!!
The crowd in the stadium was still in a hysteria; they couldn’t believe that Lukas was out. Now they felt sad; they wanted to complain, but seeing him again with the ball in hand, returning just after getting out, was shocking.
*Is he a two-way player?*
*I believe so, otherwise, why would he be in the top batting lineup?*
@No way he’s a two-way player.@ - Stadium Commentator 1.
@No, he is Not, and apparently he is a pitcher. @ - Stadium Commentator 2.
The stadium was getting crazy discussing Lukas’s every move. Mike came running behind Lukas and tapped on his shoulder.
" See there? The people from Guinness World Records are here, so try your best to throw your hardest pitch ever. Mike said with a smile then, smacking lightly on Lukas’s chest with his backhand, he ran to the catcher’s position.
Lukas looked at the people who were wearing black suits, and every one of them was holding a speed gun to measure Lukas’s pitching speed.
Lukas just smiled, then cracking his neck, he walked forward. He then looked at the stand where the cop was seated, and seeing her still there, he smiled and stood in the mound.
He then looked around, seeing his teammates were in position. He looked at the batter, who smiled cockily at Lukas. After getting him out, they believed this rookie was nothing much.
*IT’S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME.**
*TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!!*
As Lukas was about to pitch, the theme played loudly in the background, but he wanted to control the emotion of the mass now; as a pitcher, he had to else his pitching would be kind of glamorous.
So Lukas didn’t care about the batter; instead, he just put up his hands in the air to gather the attention of people who were playing music, and with a circled motion, he put his right hand’s index finger in front of his lips to shush the whole stadium.
It took a second, but everyone in the stadium just calmed down and looked at Lukas. Lukas nodded his head in satisfaction. He then looked at the batter, who was looking at him as if he was seeing a monster staring at him.
" Are you ready?" Lukas asked as the batsman was looking at him with his eyes wide open.
" Y...Yeah!!" Eric replied; he was momentarily shocked at how good Lukas was at controlling the crowd.
Lukas nodded, then glanced at the crowd so that they would be quiet, and then he made a serious face, as this was his first time pitching for his MLB debut, and as a pitcher, he should do his best.
Lukas’s left leg came forward and made an arc motion; he then used his whole waist, and every part of his body felt connected to his right arm. The right arm went back like a whip, and with lightning speed it came back. He didn’t hide his four-seam grip, as he was that confident.
*Zwwwwom*
129 MPH
Mike looked at his hand, which felt like it had gripped a meteor. If he could, he would avoid this catch, but it was aimed at his hand, and he had to catch it. He was also wearing extra padding underneath, but it didn’t help at all. fгeewebnovёl.com
@What the fuck was that? @ Stadium Commentator 1.
@ I did not see that, can you believe @ Stadium Commentator 2.
*Whoaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!*
The crowd immediately erupted with a thunderous cheer. As they were instructed, they did not make a ruckus, but the clap was so loud that the background music was not audible at all.
" S...Strike," the umpire called out. He also took his time to announce the strike. Eric, on the other hand, was so shocked that he laughed while looking at the sky. He felt he was being cheated by God himself.
The world record was recorded, and everyone on their speed gun confirmed it with the same results.
Mike, the catcher of the team, felt his hand was hurting, so he went to the doctor immediately, and sure enough, his hand got a little cracked by the sheer impact.
He was then replaced by Samwell, a young man who was also a rookie this year. He was scared, but this was his chance to shine. He instantly wore foam gloves, then batting gloves, and then catcher’s gloves. He looked like he was prepared for this outcome.
" Nice going, Lukas." He even said that while going to his position, Lukas felt weird, but he nodded nonetheless.
" Be ready," the umpire said to Eric, who was still laughing at the sky. Eric returned to his senses and calmed down; he was a professional, so he had to concentrate.
Eric was actually scared; even the Cubs’ dugout was nearly boiling with such delivery. Their coaches were sweating bullets as nothing came to their minds when they thought about how to stop this madness.
Eric did not even see the ball that came his way. He always prided himself on facing the speed-fueled ball, but this thing almost tore his face open. He felt the wind the ball tore while passing by his face, but his eyes did not see it.
Even that was not enough to scare Eric, an MLB player. What scared him most was the person who threw that ball was still standing on the mound, and he looked like he did nothing. The boy was not even sweaty.
Lukas, who was holding his ball, looked at Eric to see if he was ready. Samwell, from behind, nodded his head as a gesture that he was ready. Eric, on the other hand, took his batting position but did not nod his head; instead, he asked for water.
