After the mecha warriors left, Ramslin asked in a quizzical voice, "Is it just me or did we all hold our breath in because it seemed as if he could see or sense us?"

That man had looked directly at him, there was no mistaking it. He could also swear that he saw a flash of white in Esong’s eyes when he looking at him. It had scared the shit out of him that he actually took one step backwards.

Very disturbed, Severus whose legs were trembling replied, "It’s unnatural. There is something not right about that human."

Scarlet too felt uneasy and even though her legs were not trembling like Severus’s, her heart was pounding. He could tell, every time when she came close to him as a grim reaper he could sense her. Severus was right when he said it was unnatural.

"Should we report this back to the Lord of the realm?" Ramslin asked them.

Scarlet turned her head around so fast and shouted, "He checked, Esong is human, okay, very human. Maybe he just has sharper senses because he trains his mental strength more than most humans. Or it could be that he is sensitive to our presence because he is married and sleeping with a grim reaper. Let’s just hunt this damn escapee and leave."

Could a human really sleep with a grim reaper without it having any effect on them? And Esong constantly stole the snacks which were meant for her underworld shop. He could always tell the difference between them and the normal snacks. He preferred spiritual honey to ordinary sugar and even took baths with her in deity spring infused water. Sometimes Severus added herbs for her to soak her human body in to purify it constantly and he would join her. He never seemed to be affected by all this. Or maybe she didn’t want to admit that he was abnormal in a way.

Her worry was what the old deity intended to do if the question of Esong’s humanity was brought up again. What if she was told to end the relationship? What if her emotions were forcefully shut off to cut her separate her from him?

"What if he is the inconspicuously missing deity of your world and he is commiting the greatest crime among the Gods by sleeping with a human?" A sultry voice of a woman asked in her mind.

She frowned and looked around. Then she asked, "Who are you?"

"Just a friendly goddess who has a few questions of her own." The voice said, "You can call me the Goddess of flames. I have been watching you darling and I must say, you are quite the woman. Having your soul reaped by a god, becoming a soul reaper and leveling up so quickly in a few months. Having a hound as a partner, sharing a bath and a bed with Lythia, drinking tea with my grouchy brother. My oh my, you get around don’t you? You are like a toy, their favorite toy that they have agreed to share but left me out. I must say that I am jealous because as one of the three main Gods of the underworld you have not come around to see me and I am the only one who can’t play with you. But don’t worry, I have come to play with you and my visit will be hot, you can look forward to it Scarlet."

Scarlet was so lost in the hypnotizing voice that she did not notice the escaped evil soul coming through the red mist and trying to escape. It almost flew into her when Ramslin sent it flying with a wave of his energy.

"Hey, snap out of it." he shouted at her loudly, barking in a commanding voice.

Scarlet spun around at the last second and kicked the evil soul with her foot. It had already possessed a human body and the physical kick sent it flying like a ball back in Ramslin’s direction.

He chuckled and said, "Football, cool, I am in."

He raised one of his legs as well, the right one and he kicked it back. Before it reached Scarlet, Severus poured his flames on it and they heard it wail.

Scarlet trapped it in her mist cage with a green flame, further causing it pain while Ramslin looked on, extremely fascinated.

"What is that?" he asked.

"A special gadget created from a stone gifted by the gods." Severus answered.

Ramslin did not dwell on that, he shrugged and said, "Hey, have you ever played football, don’t hog the ball and send it back to your teammate."

Scarlet laughed and sent the evil soul flying back to Ramslin, kicking it with a strong wave of energy that made everything around rise as if a small tornado was about to pass through the area.

Ramslin turned his scythe upside down and hit the evil soul hard. The game had suddenly turned from football to baseball. He was laughing and screaming joyfully, having a good time.

Sitting by the side and watching, Severus could not help thinking about why he hated warrior reapers. They enjoyed the hunt, thrilled in all the ways that they could cause maximum pain to the escaped soul that they were sent to capture. They rarely cared about the vessel which the escaped soul inhabited after all, you had to be evil to be possessed by evil.

What confused him however was that his own partner seemed to be having a great time as she matched Ramslin, hit for hit. This was really not what guardian reapers did. He wanted to capture, deliver and go about his other affairs.

He sighed and held one of his paws up, increasing the length of his claws and he swiped at the evil soul when it came close, within scratching distance. Then, he caught it in his massive paw and threw it down to the ground, and stepped on it.

"Let me go." it begged pathetically.

"You should have stayed in hell." Severus told it.

"I just wanted..." It started to say.

"Shut it." Ramslin approached Severus and said unhappily, sealing the mouth of the evil soul with a wave of his hand. Then, he places a red stone over it’s heart and opened his soul guard.

To Scarlet’s dismay, the human body disappeared along with the evil soul, leaving nothing but black smoke behind. She thought that Ramslin would do an exorcism or retrieve the evil soul itself while leaving the human behind.

"Wait, what have you done with the body?" she asked.

Ramslin sprinkled purifying water on the area with the black smoke and he lit up some incense. Then, he stood up and said to her, "The human is already dead, once an evil soul takes full possession of a human body the human’s soul dies. The body is nothing more than a husk that is a hub for bad energy. I don’t know what is done with it and I don’t care, my job is done. See you around hound."

He blinked and disappeared from their sight.

"Oh, what a bastard, he did not even say thank you." Severus complained.

"I never expected him to." Scarlet said and she blinked, teleporting herself back to the castle and directly into bed to think about the things which had been said to her by that deity.
