Chapter 65: Running into his arms

In a few minutes, Asli was driving out of her Villa. She knew her nanny would do a great job exaggerating her illness. She did it when she was twelve.

’Asli isn’t feeling well, sir.’ Ruth told her adoptive father when he stormed into her suite. She had been staying there since she was nine, away from the men.

’What do you mean she is sick? No child of mine falls sick.’ the man boomed back and for a quick second, Asli had thought that was a loving father speaking... until he continued. ’Arh, I forgot she isn’t my flesh and blood. Tell her if she wants to be recognized, she better hide her pain even when a tree passes through her lungs.’

’The doctor just left. He said Asli needs rest or else it could get serious. The little girl has been training and...’ her nanny’s tone had become more serious and young Asli hid underneath her blankets as if it could save her.

’She better be able to fight Gardner’s son during their next battle or else, I’ll make sure she remains in that room forever.’ he threatened and left without any more words.

Since then, Asli had never fallen sick. Even if she did, she hid it, knowing her father could make her feel worse than any illness.

But this was going to be different. He had never gotten angry ever since she grew up because she always made sure to make him proud. She tried fighting for his love and when she realized she wasn’t ever going to get it, she just decided she was satisfied with a few thumbs up from him.

Before she knew it, she was parking in front of Ahmet’s apartment. Had she intended to come here along? Maybe it did cross her mind to crash here for a while since he was responsible for her limping.

Maybe she had planned to come to him all along.

However, was it not risky to come here? Anyone could spot her car. Unlike the first and second time, Ahmet could not be home today.

Or he could. He could be there with one of his numerous women doing the same thing they did in the same bed.

This was a bad idea. What if he thought she was clingy? What if he read too much into her coming back?

Just then, the electric doors opened and a quick frown plastered on her face. This could mean two things only. Either her car was now registered in the system or Ahmet was home.

Why would he register her in the system?

She drove into the compound and straight to one of the garages.

She took the inner door and walked till she reached the door she had come out from this morning.

She opened it while she had touched her gun lightly. She was never going to get rid of that habit, was she?

She looked around and her eyes fell on Ahmet who was busily looking through some documents, his bare back facing her.

He did not pass her a glance. She knew he was aware of her arrival. She did not know why she felt disappointed that he had not acknowledged her yet.

She had left the room this morning. Her eyes went to the bed and she noticed he had already changed the sheets.

This was stupid of her to come here. She turned to leave, embarrassment clouding her mind.

"The food is in the fridge." He blurted out of nowhere and she wondered why he was obsessed about her eating.

"I have already eaten." She quickly replied, not wanting him to force food down her throat. She had eaten before setting off.

"Hmm," only came his reply. Then the room went silent again. She did not know why the silence hurt her but it did.

She awkwardly stood there for a while, staring behind him. This was the man who broke her virginity... just last night and he was acting so cold towards her.

She was strong enough for this. She would not let him affect her.

"Are you going to stand there forever?" He finally spoke.

"Screw you." She murmured before turning to her heels. He was never going to see her again. This was a bad idea even.

He did not even try to stop her. The cold heartless idiot. She was cold and heartless too but why did it hurt that he was that towards her?

She tried to open the garage but it wouldn’t open. What was his problem?

She stormed back in and this time, he met him on his feet. His abs greeted her even when he did not want to do it himself.

Her eyes fell just on it and she stared for a while. Her hand had explored it. This man was gorgeous. She began to feel excited and he didn’t seem to want to move away either. At this point, she was well aware he was watching her eye fck him.

"What do you want?" He finally asked. His voice was detached from any form of emotion... not even distaste. No concern, no curiosity, nothing.

"You caused this so you have to take care of it!" That was all she got out and now he was watching her fully. Again, even his eyes didn’t hold any emotions.

Was he angry she was here? Was she ruining his plans? Was one of his women coming over? But she tried to leave and he had stopped her.

"You want to get out of here in a wheelchair... I can do that for you." He informed her.

"You want us to fight?" That sounded like a question more than a statement. That was clearly the only thing that would make her leave this place in a wheelchair. She had fought with him before and he was lenient with her. He could not possibly shoot her in the legs, would he?

"Fight? It depends on your mood." He responded.

"I don’t have mood swings." She defended.

"Yes, you do." He pointed out.

"No, I don’t." she defended.

"Yes, you do." he again mentioned.

"No, I don’t." This time around, she was walking towards him without realizing it.

She was not him. He had mood swings and not her.

"You do have them." This time around, her finger was poking him in the chest. A smile finally broke on his face. Who the hell had mood swings?
