The massive training field outside Lumina Academy had been transformed into a ceremonial ground. Students from across the continent stood in rows, uniforms gleaming, mana crackling faintly around the stronger ones.

Zane stood among the group representing his academy, shoulder to shoulder with Sera and Adrien. Valerie stood across the field with her own cohort, her gaze a cool storm whenever it brushed past him. But Zane ignored it, keeping his eyes ahead as the crowd quieted.
