The Strongest Master Venturing Urban-Chapter 224 Holy Shit, Could It Be Money?
Chapter 224: Chapter 224 Holy Shit, Could It Be Money?
Over the next month, Chen Bin quickly organized a variety of vocational training classes.
The villagers were delighted with such a beneficial initiative.
Before Chen Bin’s arrival in Qinghe Town, many people didn’t even know who the town’s Party Committee Secretary was.
Now, after less than half a year, everyone knew Chen Bin’s name.
At the start of registration, the turnout was incredibly enthusiastic.
The tally even exceeded ten thousand people.
However, Chen Bin knew it was impossible for all of them to attend.
As long as half of them stuck with it, he considered it a success.
He merely hoped that half of the participants would persevere, which would leave him content.
Still, Chen Bin felt that these efforts were nothing more than stopgap measures, incapable of genuinely solving Qinghe Town’s poverty issues.
But no matter how hard he thought, there was no quick and lasting solution.
As the temperature gradually dropped, Chen Bin made a visit to Sun Village, accompanied by Jia Fugui.
Looking at the mountains covered with orchards, he felt an unusual sense of contentment.
Next, he asked the technicians about wintertime management of the fruit trees.
Assured that nothing could go wrong, he finally returned to the town government.
However, he had barely sat down when the phone rang.
Xue Baoguang asked him to come to the county seat.
When he stepped into the office, Chen Bin noticed not only Xue Baoguang but also the city’s Disciplinary Committee Secretary, Deng Jiabao.
"Secretary Xue, Secretary Deng."
Faced with Chen Bin’s polite greeting, Xue Baoguang’s expression was visibly grim.
"Do you know why I called you here?"
"I don’t know."
Though he said so aloud, Chen Bin understood in his heart. Deng Jiabao’s presence meant the matter involved the Disciplinary Committee!
Without mincing words, Deng Jiabao spoke sternly.
"Over the past month, the city’s Disciplinary Committee has received numerous letters of accusation against you."
The statement left Chen Bin momentarily stunned. "Accusations about what?"
From his perspective, since arriving in Qinghe Town, he had been diligent in his work and hadn’t accepted gifts or embezzled funds.
Who could possibly have something to accuse him of?
Without responding verbally, Deng Jiabao simply pulled a few accusation letters from a plastic bag and handed them to Chen Bin.
When Chen Bin read their contents, he couldn’t help but laugh.
But Xue Baoguang frowned and asked, "Quickly explain—what’s going on here?"
"This is pure nonsense!"
Chen Bin said firmly, "My relationships with Cai Lixia and Ding Zi are purely professional—how could I be romantically involved with both of them? These accusations are clearly an attempt to smear me!"
"Then who do you think is trying to frame you?"
"Of course, it’s Lu Huisheng! Ever since I took over his position, he’s held a grudge and wants to use this to bring me down."
Secretary Deng seemed relatively satisfied with this answer.
After all, with Chen Bin’s abilities and his bright future in politics, it was unlikely he would falter over something as trivial as personal conduct.
At this point, Chen Bin continued speaking.
"Don’t even mention that I wasn’t involved with Cai Lixia or Ding Zi—even if I was, all three of us are single. How could that be considered an improper relationship? Does working for the government mean we’re banned from dating?"
Nodding slightly, Deng Jiabao replied.
"You’re the youngest town leader in the city; your abilities are recognized by everyone. It’s precisely because I trust you that I called you here to discuss this. But remember, being irreproachable in personal conduct is non-negotiable."
"Thank you, Secretary Deng. I understand."
"Alright, if there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave then."
Watching Deng Jiabao’s departing figure, Chen Bin was seething with rage.
"Secretary Xue, it seems like my accomplishments in Qinghe Town have made certain people envious, and they’re resorting to underhanded schemes."
Patting him on the shoulder, Xue Baoguang offered reassurance.
"It’s clear to me that the organization trusts you. But just as Secretary Deng said, maintaining a spotless personal life will prevent baseless accusations in the future."
"Thank you for your advice, Secretary Xue. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be off."
As soon as Chen Bin got up to leave, Xue Baoguang quickly made a phone call.
Speaking with great respect, he said, "I’ve already spoken with Chen Bin. There won’t be any problems moving forward. All right, understood."
On his way back to Qinghe Town, Chen Bin ran into Du Minli’s husband, Tian Rangping.
Since the latter didn’t recognize him, the two only brushed past each other without exchanging words.
However, Chen Bin noticed Tian Rangping’s face was bruised and swollen, as if he’d just been beaten up.
After some thought, Chen Bin immediately called Cheng Zhuang and instructed him to look into the matter.
Later that evening, after finishing dinner at the guesthouse, Cheng Zhuang came straight to Chen Bin’s room.
Closing the door behind him, he spoke in a hushed tone.
"Tian Rangping owes 150,000 yuan in gambling debts. Since he couldn’t repay it on time, he got beaten up earlier today."
Raising an eyebrow in surprise, Chen Bin asked, "How did it get so high?"
"It didn’t start out that much, but the interest kept piling up. Now it’s reached 150,000 yuan."
Cheng Zhuang then added, "While investigating, I also heard rumors that his job at the seed station was secured by ’selling his wife.’ On the surface, Du Minli is his wife, but behind closed doors, she’s already become Lu Huisheng’s woman."
Could there really be such a thing?
Hearing this, Chen Bin quickly hatched a plan.
"Brother, keep a close eye on Lu Huisheng and Du Minli for me. If they’re really involved, snap some photos with your phone—I’ve got big plans for those!"
For someone like Cheng Zhuang, who had once dealt with Sun Cheng and Dong Lili, this type of task was second nature.
Nodding in agreement, he left immediately.
After about a week, Cheng Zhuang handed over a stack of developed photos to Chen Bin.
Looking through them, Chen Bin’s face finally lit up with satisfaction.
"Brother, you’d make a great photographer—these shots are incredible!"
Scratching his head with an awkward smile, Cheng Zhuang replied earnestly.
"Thanks, but I’d rather stick with working for you—it’s got a brighter future!"
Smirking, Chen Bin found the sentiment quite agreeable.
After all, having someone like Cheng Zhuang eliminated many headaches for him.
Then, Cheng Zhuang asked, "What are you planning to do with these photos? Send them to the Disciplinary Committee or use them to blackmail them?"
"Neither! Deliver them to Tian Rangping."
Ever since accruing his gambling debts, Tian Rangping had been consumed with anxiety.
That day, while brooding in the seed station office, he suddenly received an envelope.
The envelope bore no address or name, nor did it contain any message.
But it felt thick and heavy to the touch.
"Damn, could it be money?"
With this thought, Tian Rangping hurried into his office with the envelope in hand.
When he opened it, he was completely stunned.
Inside were explicit photos of Du Minli and Lu Huisheng tangled together.
The content was beyond imagination!
Bam!
Slamming his fist on the desk, Tian Rangping muttered to himself, "Screw it. I’ll pay the gambling debts first, then worry about the rest."
With this resolve, he picked a few photos where their faces were clearly visible and slipped them into his pocket, locking the rest in his drawer.
Leaving the seed station, he headed straight to Lu Huisheng’s office at the town government building...
