The Protagonist's Sister Is Actually The Strongest-Chapter 317: Zero Two
Listen while reading: Metal Strike
-----
Zero Two.
Unexpectedly, we were not greeted by the Heavenly Machines I once fought.
I was actually expecting to fight them again, those containing Heaven Fragments.
However, what greeted us was something—no, someone else.
It was a similar model to Zero One, if not the same.
Except her hair was longer, black colored, and she had big, menacing crimson eyes.
Her clothes were a skin-tight bodysuit of black latex, covered by neon red lines.
Her height was... slightly taller than Zero One.
And she had the power to materialize weapons out of nanobots she summoned out of thin air.
This was a technique Zero One had been practicing for a while and struggling to get done.
Yet Zero Two did it within seconds; she didn’t even struggle to use it.
But above all else, this was…
Insane!
I always imagined Zero One was one of a kind, that there wouldn’t be more of her made.
After all, she told me that her creation was very complex and extensive.
She even said there wouldn’t be more like her, as her “Mother” told her.
Yet…
Zero Two was here.
And her words were harsh, full of coldness.
She was completely different than Zero One.
Perhaps a more “perfect” design that doesn’t let her emotions spill out everywhere like Zero One.
But that made her even more robotic than her design was supposed to make her.
“Let me tell you something… Zero One.”
“You’re only the first model of a series of machine lifeforms.”
“You’re not unique, and I’m better than you.”
“I’m Zero Two.”
“Nice to meet you, my older sister. Please die.”
As she reached the shocked Zero One, I turned into lightning and…
SLAAASH!
A huge wave of crimson plasma reached me. I quickly swung my blades, unleashing my powerful Aura as gigantic white snakes opened their jaws and clashed against Zero Two’s attack.
BOOOM!
“Anna?!”
Zero One panicked, glancing at me in disbelief as smoke covered my body.
“I’m fine, don’t worry.”
However, I was able to successfully block her deadly attack, albeit it was insanely strong.
More than I could have ever expected.
“Hmph…”
Zero Two glanced at me with annoyance.
“Why are you protecting that inferior? As a human, you should join the one that will offer you more protection. You’re a precious relic of the past. Anna, was your name? Stay with us. Our purpose remains. We will protect you as part of humanity.”
“What nonsense are you talking about?! I’m not the same humanity that you failed to protect! And no, I won’t abandon Zero One; she’s my friend!”
“Anna…”
“Zero One, the plan is the same! I know you’re shocked right now, but this means nothing anyway." I said, trying to calm her down. “You go and hack the tree! I’ll take care of your evil sister!”
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
“R-Right… Yeah!” Zero One ran away, as Zero Two quickly rushed towards her.
Like a blur of red and black color, she attempted to slash Zero One into two halves.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
She swung her blade against her own sister; a wave of crimson plasma was unleashed.
Zero One's eyes widened as the rainbow Aura I granted her fluctuated, rapidly forming into a draconic armor over her body.
The Buff I had granted her was now a technique she could imitate; she’s really amazing.
But that wasn’t all; she held a shield with her.
BOOOM!
“Huh?!”
Zero Two’s crimson eyes were surprised to see her big sister alive; the heavenly golden dragon shield in Zero One’s hands protected her.
In that last minute, I gave the shield to her, knowing she could make better use of it.
“You’re fighting me, Zero Two!”
I rushed towards her as Zero Two tried to avoid my attacks and kill Zero One. But Zero One evaded another sword attack, a wave of crimson plasma leaving a huge hole in the ground.
BOOOM!
“Sister! Why are you trying to kill me?! We can solve things peacefully! Nobody has to die!”
Zero One was trying to calm her down, to make her reason, even if a little bit.
And she wasn’t wrong though; what she said held tremendous truth.
Why was she fighting? Why were machines trying to not become allies?
They lost so much as well; why fight?
We could solve things peacefully…
Yet her response was obvious.
“It is within our mission, our protocol, our orders,” Zero Two said. “You would never understand, sister. You were born imperfect; your mind was modified to not follow protocols.”
“However, I’m perfect,” Zero Two smiled. “I am the better you, my sister. I am superior.”
"No, you are not!”
I roared, rushing towards Zero Two, who intercepted me with her blade. I swung my swords against her, trying to stop her as much as I could.
She glared at me furiously as Zero One ran away; she said she wanted to protect humanity, but she clearly didn’t hold her punches.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
Her sword was swung at rapid speed, leaving waves of red plasma that shattered, burned, and exploded everything within our surroundings.
I intercepted her with my many weapons; explosions of elemental attacks reached her. Frost, fire, and other elements, such as winds, didn’t have any effect on her.
I tried aiming at her legs, but they were incredibly tough, and she was super-fast, easily evading or tanking the blows as she pleased.
It was annoying though; she was constantly trying to free herself from my attacks; she didn’t want to confront me as an opponent.
“Come here, traitor.”
Zero Two rushed towards Zero One, who had begun to hack the Mechanical Tree, injecting several cables that came from her head into many wires and cables.
“As long as I’m here, you won’t land a single hit on her anymore!”
With all my might, I turned to lightning and reached her; a rain of thunderbolts hit her entire body, shocking her and making her fall to her knees.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
“Ungh! Why are you opposing my orders, human?! Stop this!”
“I won’t! I already told you, if you don’t take me seriously, you’ll die!”
“Y-YOU!”
She grew furious, suddenly rushing towards me and ignoring Zero One entirely, enraged. She wasn’t perfect; if anything, she was just as emotional as Zero One, but her spectrum of emotions was much darker; she was temperamental.
“Then I’ll follow my protocol and incapacitate you, human!”
FLUOSH!
Suddenly, she materialized a second katana-like sword from her left-hand nanobots, swinging both at the same time against me, releasing x-shaped waves of red plasma.
“Strong, but not enough.”
I infused my blades with Celestial Energy, especially using the sword master gifted me plus the blade of Solomon!
And of course, Gram’s Light Dragon Aura.
“{Heavenly Thousand Blades}: {Celestial Dragon’s Uprising}”
“ROOOAARR!”
The roar of a dragon reverberated across the entire Mechanical Tree interior, and as I swung all three blades upwards, a massive slash of celestial light emerged, resembling a Chinese dragon flying into the skies.
SLAAAASH!
Zero Two’s attacks were immediately destroyed; the dragon reached her, grabbing her body with its jaws and then exploding in the skies above.
The entire interior of the Mechanical Tree had no ceiling; its long body went all the way up into the sky!
BOOOM!
“Ugh!”
Zero Two started falling, looking annoyed.
In that moment, I leaped towards her.
And unleashed a Martial Arts and Skill Combination through Myriad Self Arts…
{Cloud Step} + {Thunder Body} = {One Step From Heaven}!
FLASH!
Within a split second, I reached her body as she fell.
Her eyes widened, panicking.
“Cut if off already!”
With a furious roar, her two blades combined together into a long black spear, swinging it against me.
Her movements were so fast and precise, which, when combined with her red electromagnetic aura, generated the illusion she was many people at once.
In just a couple of seconds, dozens of blows reached me, rapidly reaching one hundred.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
My armor rapidly absorbed the damage as I was pushed back down; her attacks electrified my body as she tried to weaken me by frying my insides.
Yet that was fine with me, all of this pain and damage…
It accumulated, fusing together through the Demonic Stigmas of my weapons and armor.
A giant Blood Blade emerged from my axe-sword as I smiled and swung it against her.
“{Demonic Thousand Blade}: {Descending Black Dragon of Demise}”
I swung my Blade down against her; she used her spear to block, which ended on her weapon being split apart. At the same time as my aura exploded, combined with the attack, a giant black dragon emerged.
And ate her.
CLAAASH!
“Ungh?! What the… Aaagh!”
While grinding through her armored exterior with its teeth, the black dragon reached the floor beneath and then exploded into black flames.
BOOOMMM!!!
I glanced down; the smoke dissipated, revealing Zero Two; her armor had broken down, and there were cracks and bruises over her skin.
“Hahh… Haha.”
However, she smiled.
“While you were busy with me, my imperfect sister is being dealt with at this very moment.”
I glanced towards Zero One.
And then I noticed.
Dozens of Heavenly Machines rushed towards her.
So that’s where the Heaven Fragment Machines were!
“Zero One!”
As I tried to reach her, suddenly…
CLAAASH!
Like a crimson thunderbolt, Zero Two reached me and quickly swung her blades against me.
"Please don’t ignore me. I’ve begun to enjoy the art of battle!”
