The Omega Is Pregnant-Chapter 108
“Hey, Mirae.”
Tae-seo beamed as he grabbed Han Mirae’s attention.
“Want to go on a blind date?”
The moment the words left Tae-seo’s mouth, his arm was grabbed. Kang Se-heon narrowed his eyes at Park Han-soo, who was holding on to Tae-seo, clearly displeased—but Park Han-soo didn’t even notice.
“A blind date? You just—”
In the middle of his sentence, Park Han-soo glanced at Han Mirae and clamped his mouth shut. Instead, he shot Tae-seo a look that screamed betrayal, which Tae-seo ignored.
Well, who told him to keep putting it off?
Tae-seo coldly shook off Park Han-soo’s hand. All of this could’ve been avoided if Park Han-soo had just confessed instead of acting all helpless and asking him for advice.
This was the plan all along.
He’d simply borrowed from the time he called Park Han-soo in front of Kang In-hyuk and mentioned setting him up on a blind date.
“It’s someone who’s known about you for a while. Says he likes you. If you’re open to it, I can set it up.”
“A blind date? Hmm, I don’t know.”
Han Mirae didn’t sound too interested, and Park Han-soo’s face lit up immediately.
“Come on, give it a real thought. He’s actually pretty great. The kind of guy who would pull every string he has to set up a surprise for someone he likes.”
“There’s really a guy like that?”
“Totally. If he’s head over heels, he’d probably give up his liver and gallbladder for her. If she were going somewhere, he’d borrow a car, bring blankets and coffee, and even pack a tablet so she wouldn’t get bored.”
Han Mirae, listening to Tae-seo, glanced at Park Han-soo like something had just clicked.
“Being that thoughtful isn’t easy... sounds like he’s got a good personality, too.”
“He can be a little annoying when he butts in everywhere, but as a person? Not bad.”
“That part’s kind of a turnoff.”
When Han Mirae showed obvious dislike, Park Han-soo’s face immediately fell.
“He’s got a big mouth, too. Always telling my parents all kinds of stuff about me.”
“Tae-seo.”
Unable to take it anymore, Park Han-soo stepped in and tried to stop him. A blind date? Really? His look said it all—why was Tae-seo trying to set up someone who crashes conversations and spills secrets?
“But if you think about it, maybe he’s like that because he doesn’t have a girlfriend. If he had someone, you think he’d have time to meddle? He’d be too busy looking after her.”
Tae-seo smoothly shifted the conversation, and both Park Han-soo and Han Mirae’s expressions changed. Park Han-soo looked completely lost, while Han Mirae looked like she was about to laugh.
Having done his part, Tae-seo turned away. The rest was up to those two now.
He looked up at Kang Se-heon, who had come to stand beside him.
“Did I do well?”
Instead of answering, Kang Se-heon gently patted his head.
“Then what do you say we put our bet on hold for now?”
Since those two were still stuck at the rest stop, they could decide later who won.

Ever since he’d started carrying Blessing, Tae-seo had been sleeping a lot more—day or night, it didn’t matter. They said it was the baby’s way of letting him rest in advance, because once the child was born, sleep would be a luxury. Maybe that’s why he didn’t even know when he’d fallen asleep. When he woke up, still not fully opening his eyes, he started moving little by little to loosen up his stiff body. That’s when Kang Se-heon’s voice reached him.
“You’re awake?”
Tae-seo just nodded and slowly opened his eyes. His eyelids still felt heavy, but he figured they’d adjust if he blinked a few times. Just as his vision was coming into focus, something seized his full attention.
The sea—so blue and vast it blurred the horizon where it met the sky.
When Tae-seo sat up, Kang Se-heon pressed a button to raise his seat for him. He meant for Tae-seo to lean back and enjoy the view comfortably, but Tae-seo was too taken by the ocean to notice.
“It’s so beautiful.”
He knew winter seas were supposed to be beautiful, but seeing it in person was something else entirely. It was so blue, so full of crashing waves—it was impossible to look away.
“Let’s get out.”
Kang Se-heon got out first and opened the passenger door. Tae-seo took his hand and stepped down. A moment ago, it had only been the sight of the sea—but now he could hear the waves clearly, too.
As they walked toward the water, Kang Se-heon draped a thick blanket over Tae-seo’s head. He didn’t want his ears to get cold, so he covered him from the top down—and next to Tae-seo, another figure was walking with a blanket thrown over their head in the same way.
“I was worried this might be too much for me physically, but I’m really glad we came.”
Gathering the blanket in one hand, Tae-seo walked a little closer to the ocean. The waves, endlessly moving, held his attention like nothing else.
“Yeah, this was a good idea.”
Seeing how happy Tae-seo looked, Kang Se-heon also stood back and admired the sea, satisfied.
After that, neither of them said a word. Just staring out at the ocean, their shoulders touching, was enough.
“When Blessing is born, we have to come again.”
They couldn’t do it too soon—maybe when the baby was about a year old?
He wasn’t sure if the baby would like it, but Tae-seo wanted to show them this same view. Or maybe... since the baby was kicking right now, they already liked it?
“The wind’s getting cold. Let’s head back. We can still see the sea from the hotel.”
“Just a little closer.”
Tae-seo clutched the blanket and stepped forward again. His feet sank deep into the sand, but he didn’t stop. He made it to the edge, where the waves crept up the shore.
Watching the rolling water and white foam, he felt himself calm down.
“This feels like a gift.”
Like a reward for all the days he’d spent struggling to stay alive as Yoon Tae-seo. A gift paired with praise for surviving.
He spoke without thinking—but the moment the words left his mouth, his face flushed. It sounded way too sentimental. But Kang Se-heon just silently wrapped an arm around his shoulders and looked out at the ocean with him. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
That alone felt like an answer, and Tae-seo smiled softly.
“I’m so happy these days, it scares me.”
At the word scared, he could feel Kang Se-heon turn to look at him.
“I don’t know if it’s because every day is flowing by so peacefully, or because I’m just so happy it makes my chest feel tight.”
Lately, it was getting harder to ignore the waves of anxiety that sometimes surged up inside him—mostly because they were starting to happen more and more often.
He didn’t know why. That’s why, for the first time, Tae-seo spoke his feelings aloud to Kang Se-heon.
“It’s not strange.”
Kang Se-heon shook his head. He rubbed Tae-seo’s arm, trying to comfort him.
“They say people can’t always fully enjoy happiness when they’re at their happiest. That fear that it might all come crashing down—that’s what turns into anxiety.”
“Do you ever feel that way?”
“No.”
“...”
He said all that as if he completely understood, and then admitted he’d never felt it himself. Tae-seo’s brow twitched.
“That confidence of yours is kind of enviable sometimes.”
“But when it comes to things related to you, my emotions get all over the place. I get anxious. Even desperate, sometimes.”
Hearing that it was him who could move Kang Se-heon’s emotions left Tae-seo speechless. It wasn’t the first time he’d heard a confession delivered in that quiet way, but every time, it made his heart tremble.
“You’re really something else, hyung.”
In every sense of the word. The way he just swooped in like that was unbelievable. And the way he confessed so naturally—honestly, it was amazing.
“Is that why you’re good at your job?”
Because you know how to time things so well?
Kang Se-heon didn’t deny Tae-seo’s perfectly valid suspicion.
“Let’s go back inside.”
They’d had enough fresh air for now. Tae-seo knew that if he kept pushing it out here, he’d just be # Nоvеlight # hurting himself. Better to come out in short bursts rather than staying out too long.
That way he wouldn’t catch a cold, right?
Tae-seo followed Kang Se-heon obediently, walking quietly, though he couldn’t help but look back at the sea one more time.
“...Huh?”
That’s when he noticed it. Among the people admiring the ocean like they were, one group was standing quite close to the water. He couldn’t make out the words, but there was shouting—it didn’t sound like a happy situation.
Looking more closely, one person had run into the water, and another seemed to be trying to stop them.
“Don’t look.”
Kang Se-heon covered Tae-seo’s eyes with his hand and pulled him into his arms.
“But...”
“You don’t need to worry about it.”
Just like Se-heon said, there wasn’t anything Tae-seo could do by watching. Someone was already on the phone, and the person who had gone into the ocean hadn’t gone in too deep. So really—what could he do, especially when he was carrying Blessing?
Still, he couldn’t tear his eyes away. It was that voice, crying out, that sounded so familiar—it made his chest tighten.
“Let’s go.”
Why did Seo Da-rae suddenly come to mind? Tae-seo stepped out of Kang Se-heon’s arms and spoke.
****
He was lying in bed, freshly washed with warm water, watching the sea. That’s when his phone, resting by his pillow, vibrated. Tae-seo reached out and grabbed it. When he saw Park Han-soo’s name at the top of the screen, curiosity about the rest stop made him open the chat right away.
“I confessed to Mirae.”
“She said... it still feels more like friendship right now.”
“She turned him down?”
“But she said she’d accept the confession.”
Almost like he’d heard Tae-seo talking to himself, another message came in right after.
“Oh.”
So Park Han-soo finally got himself a girlfriend.
“Guess he won’t be bothering me anymore.”
Just this morning, he was so busy fussing over Han Mirae that he barely even looked at Tae-seo.
“Good for him.”
Tae-seo casually sent back a congratulations message and was just about to put down the phone when—
“But...”
That ominous follow-up caught his eye, and Tae-seo looked up from under his brows to check the chat window again.
“Was there nothing that happened over there?”
“Nothing?”
What was he trying to say? Tae-seo frowned and thought hard. They’d just arrived safely, saw the ocean, came back in.
“...At the beach?”
There had been a commotion—someone tried to run into the sea—but that wasn’t really his business.
“I don’t know.”
Scratching his head a bit, Tae-seo finally typed a reply.
“What do you mean?”
“If nothing happened, that’s fine.”
“What kind of answer is that after making me all curious?”
Tae-seo threw the phone aside with a displeased look.
