The Martial Master tightened at those words.

"Right now, the world is suffering from an unparalleled crisis the likes of which we have never seen before," the Emperor of Harmony continued. "Not even the Beast Incursion can compare to how fundamentally different our world has become in the past six hours since the anomaly was completed. We must divert all our power to tackling the issues of the anomalous event."

The Emperor of Harmony wasn't willing to divulge the existence of the true world.

Not even to the Martial Masters, it was too primitive to do so at the moment.

The last thing he needed was the Martial Masters to be even more stressed than they were after the anomalous event and the betrayal of Tokugawa Ieyasu. The more intense the pressure they faced, the more they were likely to act in a manner that was in defiance of what was most optimal.

"…I understand, Your Majesty," Master Mern heaved a resigned sigh of grief. "I know that it is not reasonable to expect the Kandrian Empire to forget about a world crisis and dedicate all of its resources to hunting Tokugawa Ieyasu. Especially when he's a Martial Sage now and we're all just Martial Masters."

It was truly frustrating for Master Mern to have watched the Chosen One break through after assaulting his clansmen, before escaping, and to be unable to do anything about it.

The Emperor of Harmony heaved a sigh of relief, grateful that the Martial Master was not irrational.

The fact of the matter was that it was precisely because the Chosen One knew exactly that the Kandrian Empire was at its weakest and vulnerable that he chose this moment to collect the Eye of Prophecy before running away from the Kandrian Empire.

Destroying his relationship with the Kandrian Empire couldn't have possibly been an easy choice for Tokugawa Ieyasu, but the fact of the matter was that he had already gotten everything he needed from the empire.

In which case, it was worth it to lose access to all the opportunities that the empire presented him to get his hands on the promised technique.

"Recover well, Master Mern," the Emperor of Harmony remarked. "Your clan needs you. Rest assured that I will compel the Divine Doctor to aid you as soon as possible."

Unfortunately, the Divine Doctor was also consumed with vital work alongside the Ecologer, with the fate of human civilization at stake. They needed to confirm that the phenomenon of the Beast Incursion was complete.

The Emperor of Harmony departed from the medical room with a grim expression.

Very rarely did he feel self-loathing, but on this particular occasion, he couldn't help but blame himself for what had happened.

Tokugawa Ieyasu had betrayed the Sekigahara Confederate.

And then later, the Britannian Empire.

The Emperor of Harmony had estimated that the prior was due to how the Sekigahara Confederate had treated him, and the latter was premeditated and planned, all for the sole sake of joining the Kandrian Empire.

He had had his suspicions of the Chosen One, but in hindsight, he should have known that something like this was bound to happen. Unfortunately, it was also true that the Kandrian Empire had desperately needed him in the absence of Rui, spreading breakthroughs across the entire empire at many levels.

It has been the fundamental reason that he had chosen to accept the risks associated with the Chosen One; the benefits were too juicy to ignore.

"Hear the Beggar Sect track him as best as possible," the Emperor of Harmony remarked with a cold expression. "Set up a meeting with the Esoterist. I will need to compel him not to upgrade his MECHA and to help us track him with his satellites. If we coordinate our satellite systems, we should be able to have them track him for us."

"Yes, Your Majesty," the Royal Secretary nodded.

The Emperor of Harmony was absolutely serious about punishing Tokugawa Ieyasu.

He had to.

Not just because the man absolutely deserved it, but also because it would threaten the security of the nation.

The people within the nation had always assumed that any attempt at betraying the Kandrian Empire would be met with a fierce response that would lead to their demise, which was why no one even considered acting with ill will against the Kandrian Empire.

However, if the Chosen One was allowed to get away with whatever he wanted, then people would come to regard the deterrence as being much weaker than they could have imagined.

It was why the Emperor of Harmony had not only decided to go all out in killing Tokugawa Ieyasu eventually, but also to make a big show of all the capital that the Kandrian Empire would dump into ensuring that he was killed.

"For now," the Emperor of Harmony continued. "We have lost our only chance at understanding what the state of the battle is. We have on choice but to wait for one of the Martial Sages to reach out and tell us everything that has happened. Until then, we work with the information we have. We identify problems and begin implementing immediate and long-term solutions to them."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

The Emperor of Harmony got to work immediately as he began tackling the most immediate problems that the Kandrian Empire was afflicted with, which was the impending melting of the ice in North Kandria.

"Thankfully, our Martial Masters are free ever since the Beast Incursion halted," the Emperor of Harmony heaved a relieved sigh. "We merely need to deploy their power to halt the melting of the ice until our Ministry of Environment and Ecology figures out a permanent solution to the environmental disasters that will soon afflict us."

There was also the fact that the increased sunlight that the Panama Continent received ever since night turned to day could also cause ice across the entire continent to permanently melt, causing the sea levels to rise, causing the Kandrian Empire to be swept with seawater.

His golden eyes flared with determination.

He had no intention of allowing harm of any kind to befall the Kandrian Empire.
