Chapter 296: Chapter 242: Ksitigarbha Transforms into a Demon, Master and Disciple Turn Against Each Other

Gloomy and desolate, the Earthly Palace was ornamented by the cascading silver radiance, rendering the vast land more silent than ever.

"For over a thousand years, as a disciple, I’ve learned much by the side of my Master! Immortal Law, Array Dao, Alchemy Dao... but..." Ksitigarbha fell into reminiscence. Suddenly, his pitch-black face twisted into a ferocious sneer: "But you deliberately didn’t teach me the art of divination! Did you think that I would forever be your pawn, forever at your beck and call?"

Zhunti’s face flushed with rage as he berated, "Ksitigarbha, is this the way you speak to your Master?"

With a snort, Ksitigarbha retorted, "Hmph! Master? I have called you ’Master’ out of respect for the guidance you’ve provided over the years! Over these years, I, Ksitigarbha, have given so much for the Western Teachings and the Buddhist Sect—I trust my Master Uncle Zhunti is well aware. Yet now you’ve deceived me into making an oath to the Heavenly Dao, condemning me to eternal damnation in Hell, blocking my path to enlightenment. I might as well take this opportunity to permanently sever ties with your Western Teachings!"

"You, you, you ungrateful disciple! Today, I shall purify the ranks of my Buddhist Sect!" Zhunti, unable to contain his fury, transformed into a Ten-foot Golden Body. The terrifying aura of a Saint spread out instantaneously.

With one step, Cangqiong trembled, countless Evil Qi and turbid energies forming vast stars abruptly erupted. Innumerable fissures appeared, and amid the roaring, the turbid energy star domain plunged into chaos at that moment.

Stars twinkled, Divine Light twisted, endless ripples scattered in all directions, bringing turmoil across several miles in front of the Six Paths of Reincarnation.

Li Qingming slightly frowned and said to Ping Xin, who stood next to Houtu, "Fellow Daoist, the Six Paths are the stronghold of the Earthly Palace. If we allow these master and disciple to fight heavily here, I fear it might interfere with the operation of the Heavenly Dao. Fellow Daoist, it’s best if you use your Divine Skills to move these two to a remote area."

As Li Qingming spoke, he suddenly paused, his voice taking on a mocking tone, "If you can, Fellow Daoist, why not suppress Zhunti’s cultivation to the Early Quasi-Saint level? When the two sides contend, it’s always better for them to be evenly matched!"

Netherworld River’s mouth twitched, inwardly sighing, "Alas, it looks like Zhunti is in for a misfortune!"

Standing to the side, the always watchful Zhunti, upon hearing Li Qingming’s words, was quite puzzled: "Forcing someone to another domain is not difficult for a Saint. However, if it involves sealing a Saint’s cultivation, probably only the great Taoist Ancestor Hong Jun is capable. Does Ping Xin possess power comparable to the Taoist Ancestor? This must be a joke!"

However, Ping Xin’s actions soon overturned Zhunti’s conjecture.

Ping Xin’s pair of fair hands fluttered like butterflies, and the mysterious power of Tao Rules emanated from her, fiercely spreading in all directions.

"Om!"

The shocking fluctuations directly pressed towards everyone, the earthy yellow brilliance flickering incessantly, forcing all the Saints to close their eyes. When the Saints opened their eyes again, the landscape before them had drastically changed.

They now found themselves in a profound openness, with low-lying hills spread out for dozens of miles. Miles away there were eight mountain ranges stretching horizontally, dragons prancing as if yearning to soar into the Nine Heavens, both majestic and mysterious!

At this moment, Zhunti suddenly exclaimed in panic: "Damnation, what is this? How can I, a Buddha, fall from the Saint Realm! And my mana, my cultivation is now only Quasi-Saint level! What in the world is going on?"

"Sss!"

The Three Pure Ones and Zhunti were shocked, thinking that with Ping Xin’s formidable power, besides the Taoist Ancestor Hong Jun, it seemed they would now have to acknowledge another supreme Emperor above them.

"Hahaha, Master Zhunti! Now our cultivations are alike, it’s the perfect opportunity to let Master test how much your disciple’s cultivation has progressed!" Ksitigarbha laughed heartily, his ten-foot tall figure suddenly surged forth, swinging his large hand directly at Zhunti.

"Boom!"

His hand soared, spreading across Cangqiong, colliding intensely with the spatial dimensions of this world. It was as if a million armies clashed, breaking gold and splitting stones, whirling through the skies as if an untamed tsunami sweeping the heavens.

Zhunti, still wailing in grief and fury, utterly failed to notice the deadly threat emanating from Ksitigarbha and with his Ten-foot Golden Body, he took Ksitigarbha’s blow head-on.

"Pfft!"

Ksitigarbha’s strike was ruthlessly unforgiving, causing Zhunti to spit out blood and be hurled dozens of feet away.

"Cough!" Woken by the intense pain, Zhunti touched the blood at the corner of his mouth and glared viciously at Ksitigarbha.

"Ts ts, Master! Where’s your usual dignity? Your distinguished cultivation? Do you really want to be beaten to death by me alive?" Ksitigarbha stepped down from the void, his tone laced with endless mockery.

"Evil creature!" Zhunti’s eyes shone with blood, standing firm in the void, evolving a small world, with the Nine Heavens hanging low. Above his head, thousands of Buddha lights cascaded down, as he created another version of himself, sitting high in the Nine Layers of Heaven, with three heads and six arms, a majestic aura, like a divine being.

"Oh? Buddha Transformation?" sneered Ksitigarbha, "I can do that too!"

At the fall of his words, black clouds overtook the skies, and the terrifying Demonic Qi eclipsed the sun. A colossal deity image arose, pitch black like ink, rolling forward, which if unleashed to the outside world would undoubtedly wreak bloodshed and catastrophe upon all living beings.

"My Buddha is merciful!" Zhunti chanted somewhat falsely compassionate, lifting his right palm and pressing down in the void.

The huge golden Zhunti, likewise, followed the real Zhunti’s lead, pressing towards the Ksitigarbha’s statue in the air.

"Boom!"

A loud noise ensued, Ksitigarbha landed, and Zhunti’s feet sunk deeply into the solid ground, leaving two terrifying deep pits. The incredibly frightening power directly shattered the fragile vault of heaven. Endless evil qi and murky meteoric qi rained down like a storm, smashing onto the two golden bodies, only to be deflected by them one by one.

Zhunti’s expression changed, clearly not expecting Ksitigarbha to be so powerful; to clash directly with Zhunti and emerge completely unscathed.

"Great Destruction Seal!" Zhunti shouted with a solemn face, and as his voice fell, his Seven Treasures Miao Tree swiftly traced a shimmering character. A stream of Buddha Light with the aura of annihilation surged from Zhunti’s body, merging into the mysterious character.

"An!" Zhunti struck again with a Buddha’s name, the shimmering golden character directly imprinting towards Ksitigarbha’s black demonic body.

"Boom!" Ksitigarbha laughed coldly, reaching one hand towards the sky and grabbing, an endless blaze of light gleaming. A massive planet of murky qi pierced through the layers of space, pulled directly by Ksitigarbha.

"Rumble" The planet smashed into the Buddhist character, the splashing energy waves surged, and space underwent violent turmoil.

Ksitigarbha seemed to enjoy provoking Zhunti in this struggle, speaking again, "Master, our cultivation is now equal! But after this disciple’s transformation into a demon, my strength has doubled manifold, fearing that I now possess the cultivation of a Quasi-Saint Middle Stage. If you don’t use your true abilities, unfortunate it would be should you perish at your disciple’s hand—you can’t blame me then!"

Hearing this, Zhunti was filled with rage and yelled furiously, "Disobedient brute, out of the kindness from years past, I intended to spare your life, yet you refuse to recognize what’s good for you. Then I must cleanse my doorstep!"

As these words concluded, Zhunti once again took out the Inverted Five Elements Pearl from his robe sleeve and threw it out with a flick of his hand.

Li Qingming had long set his sights on this Spiritual Treasure capable of returning Primordial to Chaos. With a wave of his hand, he forcefully snatched it over, holding it in his hand and playfully saying, "Master Uncle, this poor Daoist senses a certain affinity with this item. Perhaps it should be your nephew who keeps it safe on your behalf!"

"Yah yah yah, Qingmingzi, I shall not rest until I deal with you!" Zhunti erupted in rage with the loss of the Spiritual Treasure. Ignoring Ksitigarbha who was eyeing him fiercely, he flew directly towards Li Qingming.

And at this moment, a colossal iron rod smashed toward Zhunti, its pressure threatening to burst the surrounding space for miles around, the ground cracked, mountains collapsed, with endless evil qi and murky qi wildly venting in all directions.

The sight was far too terrifying; the huge iron rod spanned several miles across, Ksitigarbha’s physical power surely comparable to that of an Ancestor Witch!

"Master, don’t you know that you should be fully focused during a fight?" Ksitigarbha’s roar shook heaven and earth. Li Qingming and the others felt their blood surge and their ears ringing.

Hearing this roar, Zhunti finally came to a realization. Yet facing the iron rod strong as a Heavenly Pillar, he had neither place to hide nor means to evade. Should the rod truly hit him, the injury would be minor, but for a Saint to lose face, that would be the true calamity!

"Ksitigarbha, Zhunti is still your Master no matter what! Do you truly have no compassion?" Jieyin’s face turned pale, witnessing the turning of master against disciple, the teacher beaten by the student. If this were to spread, the image of the Western Teachings would be utterly tarnished.

Ksitigarbha eyed Zhunti bloodthirstily, not bothering to deal with Jieyin. A torrent of black fog surged, engulfing miles around.

"Screech!" The grating sound of heavy objects rubbing together resounded, sending shivers down Jieyin’s spine. Even from tens of miles away, he could hear it clearly—as if a massive rock was grinding against the iron rod, the agitation unsettling his heart.

"Boom" fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

The mountains within a twenty-mile radius were shrouded, fierce demonic qi shot upwards, spreading far and wide!

"Ah!" A mournful scream instantly pierced the sky. The covering of black qi made the source of the voice—embodied with both Ksitigarbha’s roughness and Zhunti’s rancor—indistinguishable.

The Three Pure Ones and Li Qingming exchanged glances, and Tongtian said with a bit of jest, "Qingming nephew, can you tell who won?"

Li Qingming rolled his eyes and responded, "What do their affairs have to do with me! Whether they both fall here, the Earthly Palace will just have two more ghosts!"

"Phew!"

The black demonic qi slowly converged, a blurred figure inhaled the qi, arrogantly looking down with a pair of eyes turning into green light, flickering incessantly in the darkness, chilling to the bone.

"It seems the victor is clear. With such a robust figure appearing, it is undoubtedly Ksitigarbha!" Primordial uttered a breath of essence energy, which turned into a gentle breeze amidst the blurry demonic qi, clearing the sky of black fog.

Ksitigarbha stood arrogantly with the gleaming iron rod in his right hand. His body exhibited scars of conflict; his bloodthirsty fierce eyes gleamed with an unusual cold light.

Next to him was a vast pit whose depth was unknown. The faint Buddha Power emanating from within, made it clear that Zhunti’s situation was far from optimistic. (To be continued.
