Chapter 70 - Pulls

"...What the hell are you doing?" Tiamat asked bluntly, staring at the room around me as an increasing pile of junk appeared out of thin air.

"Gambling," I explained casually, "You wouldn't get it, so don't think about it too hard."

"...Fair enough, I don't really care anyway," Tiamat huffed, turning around and promptly walking out of the room.

I was inside a large, very open room that I had ordered Chippy and his Chipmunk Plattoon to build recently. It was like a storage container of sorts, and that was mainly because of the huge amount of quest rewards that had built up.

My reputation-based gacha quests hadn't just disappeared, but I'd put them on the back burner for a while. The [Low] gacha pulls weren't that good anyway, and I couldn't just get the rewards casually because I actually had to put all the items I got somewhere, so I had mostly been ignoring the pulls as they built up.

And built up they had! The only positive reputation tier I didn't get a reward from was reaching [Slightly-Liked] with someone, but I got [Low] pulls for [Liked] and [Strongly-Liked], then [Medium] pulls for [Slightly-Loved], [Loved], and [Strongly-Loved].

Beyond that, the next tier was called [Cherished], which gave me [High] pulls for each quest. It was split into three, just like the other tiers were, with [Slightly-Cherished], [Cherished], and [Strongly-Cherished].

I personally felt like 'Loved' should've been above 'Cherished,' but I was also never read dictionaries for fun, so I assumed the system knew better than I did.

But [High] pulls weren't where it ended. The tier above it was simply named [EPIC], and the reputation needed to get them was [Slightly-Devoted], [Devoted], and [Strongly-Devoted]

[Devoted] was the highest tier I had with any woman at the moment, belonging solely to Raya. After her, my longest-running mates of Shera, Runa, and Layna, sat in varying levels of the [Cherished] tier.

Below them, it was actually Rias, which was a bit surprising considering I'd know her much shorter than the other two women sharing the [Strongly-Loved] tier with her - that being Momo and Kyon.

After that, all four of Velrissa, Tiffana, Tiamat, and Iris shared the middle [Loved] tier. The first three were pretty expected, as they were usuals in my palace and my bedroom, but Iris had surprised me.

I didn't interact with the towering and sexy succubus much, as Velrissa was teaching her to manage the succubus part of my army most of the time, but she'd reached [Loved] pretty soon after becoming an evolved succubus.

Not that I was complaining - she was insanely sexy, and her insane growth rate meant I was glad she was loyal to me. In just a few months after evolving, she was already nearing level 150.

After those four, both of the Nekoshou, Kuroka and Koneko, sat at [Slightly-Loved]. Just below them were Akeno, Sona, Ravel, and Serafall at [Strongly-Liked] - which they shared with most of the Succubus Princesses.

Finally, Yubelluna, Tsubaki, Latia, and a lot of my female subordinates that I didn't interact with as much were sitting at [Liked].

All of this meant that I had a lot of gacha pulls to get through. I had been spamming the literal dozens of [Low] pulls I had for a while, and most of the stuff was pretty useless.

There were a lot of gear-based items, like various swords and armor, that were pretty much useless to the current me. There was a [Scout Sword] from AOT, a [Forehead Protector] from Naruto, and even a [Den-Den Mushi] - which I couldn't use because there was no other Den-Den Mushi to connect it to, so it was sitting in a fish tank now.

From one of the pulls I'd even gotten a literal piece of meat on a bone, so that goes to tell you how useful the [Low] pulls were. Of the bunch, there were only a couple that could be useful.

The first kind of useful one was a [Scouter]. I could already see everyone's levels above their head, but their level didn't account for any special combat abilities they had - like Rias' Power of Destruction.

The scouter's power level could give me a more accurate reading of their actual power, but I'd have to test it out and compare it to the level system for a while.

The next one was admittedly not all that useful, but I liked it anyway. Sitting in the fish tank with the Den-Den Mushi was a dumb-looking red fish, with scales covering its body, its mouth perpetually stupidly open, and yellow whiskers along with a yellow crown-shaped fin on its head.

[Pokemon] [Magikarp] - Level 2

I didn't know how to level up the fish, and I had no intention to find out, but he looked funny swimming around in the tank, so I would use him to decorate the palace a bit.

The next useful item was also not combat-oriented, but it was actually one I was pretty excited about. It was a simple thick book, with a lot of pages but a blank front and back cover. The official name for it was [Cook Book].

At first, I thought it was just a simple cookbook, but from looking through the recipes and names of the dishes - as well as the chefs listed as the authors of each recipe - I quickly realized it was from Food Wars.

Y'know, the series where the food's so good that people orgasm and rip their clothes off from just a bite? I was excited to try the foods listed in the book, and I was even more excited to abuse the recipes and gain a ton of negotiation power.

That was where the decent [Low] pulls ended, and I turned to the [Medium] ones. I had a whopping nine of them from my quests, and I was hyped to see if they were significantly better than the low ones or not.

I quickly pulled up the higher-tier completed quests, tapping on the gacha pull.

[Meito] [Skillful Grade] [Yubashiri] obtained!

In front of me, a sword appeared out of thin air. It looked relatively normal, with a long silver blade that tipped at the end, and a black hilt with golden accents.

Despite the sword not looking like anything special, it was definitely something at least a bit exciting.

[You have equipped [RARE] [Meito] [Skillful Grade] [Yubashiri]

[RARE] [Meito] [Skillful Grade] [Yubashiri] - One of the 50 existing Skillful Grade Meito's

You have been granted buffs by [Yubashiri]!

Your AGI has been temporarily increased by 1%!

You have temporarily borrowed a skill!

[Strong Grip] - Lightly increase your grip strength when holding a weapon, allowing you to wield heavier weapons easily.

The sword was from the One Piece world, and was the one Zoro had used for a large portion of the series before it was damaged beyond repair on Thriller Bark. Compared to my [Beast King's Blade] it was rather disappointing, but that didn't mean it was useless.

While I personally wasn't going to use it, I could give it to one of my subordinates in the future. The skill was decent, as it just seemed like a much inferior version of my [Titanic Grip] skill, and the percentage boost to AGI was nice too.

I carefully leaned the sword against a wall, turning to the next gacha pull.

[Teigu] [Erastone] obtained!

I blinked as a golden ring appeared out of thin air, dropping into my palm. It looked like a large golden ring and had a purple stone in the middle.

When I saw the word 'teigu,' I was excited. They were essentially the Sacred Gear of the Akame Ga Kiru world, but my excitement died as I realized which one it was.

Compared to all the overpowered Teigu's in the series, this one was definitely one of the worst. Its only power was to instantly destroy another Teigu with a weekly cooldown.

That didn't sound all that bad, but considering I was in a world with no Teigu's, it was useless at the moment. Considering it was a [Medium] pull, I assumed it wouldn't work on Sacred Gears either. I'd have to keep it around for potential use in the future.

The next couple of pulls were pretty disappointing as well, at least for the [Medium] tier. If I'd gotten these while opening the low ones, then I'd be rather happy.

The first looked like a simple fishing rod, but the blunt name of [Gon's Fishing Rod] told me who it belonged to. It was a tougher-than-usual fishing rod that could maybe be used for mid-range attacks, but it wasn't my style.

The next two were different types of weapons, with one being a long spear and the other being a mace. They didn't have names that stood out to me, or buffs even close to as good as the Meito's, so I just tossed them aside and moved on.

The next one was a bit more interesting, and I didn't recognize where it came from.

[MP Refill Pill] obtained!

I wasn't sure if this was a game-specific item, or if it really did come from another world - or if it even came from this one.

But where it came from didn't matter - it was a one-time use pill, but it could save me in a pinch if I needed it to. The name was pretty self-explanatory, as it seemed that taking the pill would refill my MP, hopefully completely. Overall, I was happy with the reward.

The next pull resulted in a very similar one-time item as well, which I was also satisfied with.

[Energy Steroid Pill] obtained!

This one's name was less self-explanatory, but I assumed it boosted my MP reserves. Granted, it said 'energy' and not MP, so I couldn't be sure. Either way, I could use it if I were up against a tough opponent and find out exactly what it did.

The next one was one I'd consider genuinely useful, and not for combat purposes.

[Vivre Card] obtained!

The Vivre Card was essentially just a piece of paper, but its use came from its 'magical' or perhaps 'supernatural' properties. It would constantly point towards its owner, moving in their direction, and would start to crumble or grow depending on the health status of the owner.

It could also be ripped up, meaning I could give a portion of it to all the important people in my life, such as Raya, Rias, Vargan, Velrissa, etc. It would allow them to come to my aid if I were ever really nearing death, and would just overall be useful in the future.

The final [Medium] pull was rather disappointing compared to the previous few, as it was just aptly named the [Smoke Bomb Belt]. Just as the name described, it was a belt with a bunch of smoke bombs tied to it.

I assumed the smoke bombs were at least stronger than usual, considering they came from a [Medium], or at least I hoped so. It would suck if it was just a larger number of the smoke bombs I'd gotten from one of my first [Low] pulls.

As I turned to the four [High] pulls I had available, I hoped I wouldn't be disappointed. And, as I used the first one, I definitely wasn't.

[Twice Critical] obtained!

Bond [Twice Critical] to your soul?

Y/N

A red gauntlet appeared in front of me, and I was glad it didn't instantly attach to my soul.

The Sacred Gear was a common one, being the one Raynare had mistaken Issei's Boosted Gear for in the series, but that didn't make it bad. It wasn't overpowered like the Boosted Gear - which could double one's power countless times - but it could still double my power one time in a fight.

That one time was pretty major considering how strong I already was. I wasn't someone like Issei, who was relatively weak in his base form for most of the series, who needed to constantly double his power.

I was already in the playing field of the top-tier beings in this world, and doubling my power meant I was doubling a lot of power.

The one downside was that it was a dragon-type Sacred Gear, meaning I'd be weak to dragon-slaying magic. I also didn't know if I'd be able to tie another Sacred Gear to my soul in the future, so for the moment I tapped 'N.'

I didn't need it at this exact moment, and I could attach it at any time, so I set it aside for now. I turned to the gacha again, pulling the next one.

[Gravity Chamber Capsule] obtained!

I blinked in surprise as another small capsule landed in my hand, reading the name. I didn't know one of these even existed!

If the name was to be believed, there was a Gravity Chamber within the capsule. Considering the capsules from Dragon Ball could fit vehicles and entire houses, it wasn't a crazy concept, but the Gravity Chamber itself was the good part.

Training in higher gravity meant I'd be working my body harder, which meant I'd be able to gain stats quicker. In the same way as the weighted clothing I had gotten from a [Low] pull, it would be a much slower way to train than using [Devour], but it was still a nice option to have.

The next item was also a Dragon Ball one, and one I was satisfied with.

[High] Gacha Pull activated!

[Senzu Bean] obtained!

The magical bean that healed all wounds and refilled your energy. I assumed it would just completely recharge my HP - something that I didn't need all that much with my [Phenex Immortality] - but mainly it would recharge my MP.

MP was the basis of all my skills, and since I had multiple skills to recharge my HP already, it was essentially making me as good as new in the middle of a fight. It was only a one-time use item, but I was happy with it.

The final [High] pull item was once again a One Piece one, and once again a sword.

[Meito] [Great Grade] [Wado Ichimonji] obtained!

[You have equipped [EPIC] [Meito] [Great Grade] [Wado Ichimonji]

[EPIC] [Meito] [Great Grade] [Wado Ichimonji] - One of the 50 existing Great Grade Meito's

You have been granted buffs by [Wado Ichimonji]!

Your STR has been temporarily increased by 10%!

Your END has been temporarily increased by 10%!

You have temporarily borrowed two skills!

[Powerful Slash] - Increase the power of your next attack by a percentage.

[Powerful Block] - Hold your blade steady, increasing the END of your blade temporarily.

It was another sword that Zoro had used, but it was essentially a step up from the previous Meito I had gotten. It still wasn't anywhere near as good as my [Beast King's Blade], a testament to just how good of a smith Vargan was, but I could give it to one of my subordinates.

The two percentage stat boosts were good, and the skills were pretty good as well. I'd have to find a good swordsman to use it.

Finally, I came to the best gacha pull I had available - the [EPIC] one. Its name was capitilized, so I was definitely going to get something good, right?

[Greed Island Card] [Origin] obtained!

I blinked as the card appeared in the air, falling into my hand. A card from Greed Island?

I read the text on the card, which had a picture of a man walking away from a pile of armor and a sword on it. It simply read 'Make target player fly to the game starting point.'

At first glance, the card seemed pretty useless to me. Greed Island's cards worked inside the Greed Island game in Hunter x Hunter because the players could use Nen, which the entire game had been made with.

I couldn't use Nen, and I didn't have the first idea of how to, so it was useless to me. However, if I could use Nen, then whoever I used this card on would be sent to the 'game starting point.'

Meaning: they'd be sent to Greed Island.

A large grin slowly formed on my face. I already had a plan in motion, but this was a good backup.

I'd spam the hell out of my reputation quests and try to get an item that could help me learn to use Nen, and if I got one, then a certain someone was in for a very rude awakening.

After all, you can't get in my way if you're on Greed Island - in a whole different world, right?
