Chapter 275: Competition between forces

"..." I and Mikael clash with a sword strike, I hold my sword with my tail striking in a vertical cut while he holds the Mesumari with his remaining arm.

"That hammer attack was impressive, but it lacked enough magic to kill me," Mikael says as he starts to win the strength competition. I jump back, distancing myself and forming a shield to defend against another of his frontal attacks.

Mikael realized quite quickly that in that attack I used more of an existing physical concept to deliver a powerful blow, and only used magic to move the hammer at extreme speed.

So the blow was actually about 97% purely physical and 3% magical, which was the magic I spent to move it and the small magical wave released by Violet on impact.

"You weren’t really holding back, I thought you wanted to marry me, not kill me," Mikael says as he makes a large purple cut with the Mesumari that I evade, entering the shadows and coming out behind him, managing to make a cut with the sword.

Fighting using only the tail is difficult, but my regeneration will soon repair all the damage I took from the impact of my own blow.

"My life is worth more than a marriage, you’re fighting to kill me and I’m returning the favor, if you had died I would have been very angry that you failed me," I respond to him as I feel my arms returning.

"Being a monster is really a great advantage," He murmurs because of my returned arms as he rushes super-fast against me, using mana in the sword for a powerful blow.

"[Passage of Light]" I use the light magic I have, it’s not an attack, but by increasing the power to the maximum I can basically form a light grenade.

[Passage of Light] creates a magical sphere of the light element that follows you, remaining active for a few hours, illuminating the environment.

Taking advantage of this, I dodge the blow and approach Mikael, striking with the martial art I worked so hard to learn, and as it steals mana from the target with each punch, I start to hit extremely fast to drain Mikael’s mana.

Mikael kicks, but I dodge, entering a sword stance without using a sword to make the spatial cut and destroy his internal organs with the blow.

"[Fallen Sun Echo]" Mikael murmurs a spell, and at the same moment, white flames circle the two of us, forming a not-so-large dome that soon begins to close so fast that I don’t have time to react.

"Aarg" I groan in pain as my body is burned on the side that was against the dome, my back received a very serious burn and even my mana armor was burned, destroying the remaining clothing that protected the area.

"..." Mikael takes the opportunity to strike with his sword, cutting off the arm that took me so long to regenerate and almost splitting me in two in the process.

"I-I see the lack of 1 arm made no difference," I say to him, taking distance to regenerate the damage.

"Yes, and I see my white flames are not capable of killing you in one blow."

"[Armageddon Spark]" He uses another fire spell, forming a sphere of white flames that he shoots at me, and I dodge, but it suddenly curves, forcing me to dodge again.

However, it continues to curve, coming straight at me like a homing attack, and its flames seem strong enough to burn me, being a real threat to me at the moment.

"[Kamino Sora]" I use destruction element magic, forming a sphere twice the size and launching it at Mikael. If he wants to play this game, I can too.

I control the movement of the sphere, then start making dozens of them that I launch at Mikael, who thinks of defending himself until I start forming dozens of them that are launched at him.

He also forms dozens of the white flame spheres and launches them at me, while we dodge and are pursued by each other’s attacks, but even so, we still advance against each other.

I have a large bastard sword to compete, we advance, strike hard, and move away to avoid being hit by the other’s magic.

However, with each small sword confrontation, we are striking harder, and the shock waves begin to destroy more and more of the scenery. None of us were hit by the slow-moving magics compared to our speed.

"Hey Pandora, not bad at all, but I want to see if you survive this," He says, taking a lot of distance and raising the Mesumari for a top-down cut.

’T-This is!!’ That attack that completely disappeared over the horizon, and in this position, it’s obvious he wants to prevent me from escaping. If he took distance even knowing I can teleport through the shadows, then he has a trump card.

Dodging may not be the best choice, so I decide to use another of Violet’s abilities to compete. Violet can cut destiny, and I’ve already seen her cutting the threads.

However, she can also cut destiny from the outside, which would be externally here with me, so I wonder which cut is stronger, the giant cut of the Mesumari or Violet’s precise cut of destiny.

I take a stance with the sword pointed down at a 59-degree angle, preparing to cut at the same moment he cuts. The distance between us would logically make a sword clash impossible.

But fuck logic when the two swords are so strong that distance becomes irrelevant. We both know they will hit each other, and what will win in this confrontation is something we are both curious about.

"..." All of this happens extremely fast, the magics chasing us don’t have time to reach us before the attack. I move my sword with extreme force, using Violet’s ability, while Mikael does the same with the Mesumari.

When our two swords meet in the middle, they lock as if colliding with something that doesn’t exist. I force it up even further, while Mikael forces his down even more.

I notice that from a certain height upwards, the pillars have completely disappeared, as if they had been erased, while Violet competes with this powerful cut of the Mesumari.

My hands tremble due to the ridiculously high weight, while the mana wave released spreads throughout the environment, creating cracks that go beyond the visible horizon and destroy the magics we had made before.

The cracks glow in a dark purple and light purple tone, as they are made by the mana of the two swords that have this general purple coloration. Mikael is not much better, his single arm also trembles in this competition of forces.

But since I’m on the bottom of the blow, the force breaks my legs, which is not as painful, but hinders my base, forcing me to recover it using even more mana.

Purple lightning bolts are launched in all directions, like a materialization of the shockwave released by the mana of the two swords.

This shock that seems to happen extremely fast lasts almost 5 minutes until I gain the advantage. Mikael is a bit shocked as his sword is pushed upwards rapidly.

Because unlike him, throughout the fight I was adapting quickly. Every move he made, and our sword clashes were the most common thing that happened in the fight.

Each of his movement patterns was quickly memorized and even replicated in my brain, which fully processed the information.

The sword clash ends with the Mesumari being thrown upwards, but Mikael, as a good swordsman, doesn’t even let go of his sword, being thrown along with it.

I advance against him as he quickly recovers and charges at me. He is not a good mage, so he focuses more on close combat, and now that I’m adapting to things, he will probably go for a direct offensive with fencing, which I accept.

"...Let’s see who will win, Mikael, just fencing without magic, I’ll show you why I, the Demon King, am above any human!" I say arrogantly, advancing head-on.

"We’ll see then, Demon King, show me why you hold that position," He responds arrogantly with a smile, advancing head-on against me while we exchange simple and fast blows.

Without using magic for big impacts, just pure fencing against pure fencing, my freer and faster movements against his brute and heavy movements.

"..."

"..."

We continue this exchange of blows without magic for days. At some point, Mikael said that the time here is extremely slow compared to the world, so I didn’t worry about ending the fight quickly and decided to enjoy it as much as he did.

We fought without using magic precisely for the pure emotion of the battle, each blow, each cut, and each defense made with the sole purpose of defeating the opponent while enjoying the fight.

Without using mana, the fight would obviously last an absurd amount of time due to the fact that we both wouldn’t get tired as long as we had mana, and so the fight stretched on.

Every time I adapted to one of his fighting patterns, he changed the pattern to a new one, this was repeated non-stop. We both inflicted thousands of severe injuries on each other that were always regenerated.

We never let a single injury affect us, because the fun and euphoria of the fight kept us happy with it. It’s like an intimate relationship we’re making as we try our best to kill each other.

Of course, after so much time passing, he regenerated his arm, but the after-effects of our fight are inevitable, and we’ve been fighting for so long that we decided to go for a more brutal confrontation.

We decided to use mana again, and with that, make this last clash the definitive one, because as soon as we start using mana, even if we can’t defeat the other quickly, we’ll still get tired.

"Ready for this, Mikael?"

"Sure, come at me with everything, Pandora," He says with a smile, covering his entire body with mana, not the mana of the Mesumari, but his own, which is raw and full of murderous intent.

"Perfect!" I also cover my entire body with my mana. Just as I imagined, avoiding using mana to reinforce the body extended the fight time to the maximum.

Our two auras collide, which completely changes the ambient atmosphere. Both full of murderous intent, his raw and powerful aura against my violent and wild aura, as if they’re fighting for space.

I and him advance towards what will be the end of this duel. One of us can die here, and we know it, but we don’t care.
