Chapter 272: Beginning of the Fight against Mikael

I decided to prepare in some extra ways, so I left the saint giving the lessons to the heroes and decided to go to the desert to wait for Mikael. I made it clear to Akari that it would take some time, but I would soon return to continue my work as a temporary teacher.

So the Saint is currently taking care of the classes in my place, and the rest of the classes are given by the normal teachers assigned by the academy itself.

Of course, I’m prepared to face Delphina’s rage, since I had Akari put her in the same room as the heroes, but I didn’t teach after that, so I’m sure she’ll be extremely annoyed.

But fighting against Mikael is something complicated, and I’m too active thinking about it, so I’ve already come to the desert well in advance to wait for him. During the days I stayed here to give the 1 week time I had warned, I did some things.

First, I killed all the monsters in the area and bathed in their blood, not just to eat them, but because I have passives that activate when I’m dirty with blood.

Although I have the weakness of sharpening my instincts even more, which makes me have less control over my actions, but since I’ll be getting a little stronger, I think it’s worth it.

Blood Beast - At the sight of the slightest amount of blood, your abilities evolve by 20%, in exchange your thirst for blood and deaths increases by 50%. In case of sexual relations, your lust increases by 70% when seeing blood.

It’s a very large increase in loss of control, but I think since I have good instincts I won’t make bad decisions, and at some point Mikael would bleed in the battle and this passive would activate anyway.

So after that, I ended up killing and eating all the monsters in the area I was in, the smell and blood stains on my body ended up drying, but the passives remained active, so I don’t think it’s a problem.

The second thing I did was obviously recite the enchantment of my magic with an extra mouth. It was murmuring the enchantment for about two days, which shows how my true form helps with this.

Since if I were in full form, I could recite the enchantment in a few minutes by having hundreds to thousands of mouths reciting each part quickly and in sync.

But it finished before Mikael arrived, so I think it was something that served its purpose, and I’ll be able to start the fight with everything against Mikael.

And the third thing was talking to Violet. We had long preparatory conversations for this fight, we adjusted several things and rethought our strategies one last time.

We decided to do some things the same as planned, but change others that could have deadly flaws that I wasn’t willing to take the risk.

Like the fact of relying too much on the shadows I have, which could be bad, so we decided to use my shadows only for distractions or surprise attacks, which is where they can shine the most.

We also decided to take more advantage of the abilities and spells I have, using more than one to combine both and create more unique and complex moves and attacks, since the more complex, the harder it will be for Mikael to understand and try to counterattack.

And of course, we will leave the defense and attack evenly distributed between us, with me focusing on the attack, Violet focusing on the defense against large-scale attacks, and the Pandora monster in my consciousness being responsible for managing mana consumption.

Thanks to her in my sea of consciousness, I can reduce consumption and use mana more efficiently, taking advantage of our high mana regeneration so that I never run out.

As long as I use mana responsibly, I won’t get exhausted quickly and will be able to continue our battle for a long time. I should use mana wisely because Violet should never run out.

If Violet’s mana runs out, I must supply the mana she needs, because without her I have no way to fight Mesumari, so we have 4 mana reserves in total: my tail, my angelic halo, my normal mana, and Violet’s mana.

Although since I’m going to spend the halo mana completely to use a spell, we have 3 in total, each of us two has our own reserve and has mine to use if necessary.

So I’ll use the mana in my tail only in case of real necessity, and I’ll try to leave it to give to Violet if needed, of course having in mind that Mikael also has two mana reserves.

His and Mesumari’s, the one who runs out of mana first will probably end up losing the fight, but if we both run out of mana at the same time or almost at the same time, we can still maintain a fight.

With all this, all that was left was to wait for Mikael. As the days passed and I didn’t take the medicine, my monstrous aura leaked out and my non-human characteristics appeared.

Since I have my tail, it’s like having an extra perfect limb to fight with, so I’m confident I have some advantage in hand-to-hand combat, I just hope Mikael isn’t too superior to me in fencing.

Around 6 o’clock in the morning, he appeared, following the exact deadline of days he came to look for me for our fight. My heightened instincts quickly found him, and I almost attacked him.

I was just sitting on the ground meditating while waiting when I felt his monstrous and anxious aura ready to fight. This also whets my desire to fight.

We are like two wild animals ready to jump at each other and see who will last until the end. The only thing holding us back right now is a little mutual respect and the responsibility of knowing that the current location is not suitable for us to fight.

We both know we need a proper location where we can fight with everything without worrying about destroying more than we should or causing permanent damage to an important place.

"Mikael, you arrived early, I thought you would take longer to come," I say to him as he walks closer, without provocation in my voice, it’s just a genuine statement of interest.

"Yes, I couldn’t leave you waiting too long, after all I’m sure you were also looking forward to our fight," he says sarcastically, but it’s obvious he could barely contain his desire to come fight right away.

"I see you’re not very patient, you smell of blood, not the normal kind, but a still fresh one. I deduce you’ve been waiting here for a few days," Mikael says, as if the blood on my body weren’t obvious.

"I was just waiting for you and ended up having a little fun with the monsters in the area, but before we start fighting, could you tell me if there’s a special space for that?" I question to see if he can take care of the environment.

I know letting him choose where we’ll fight can be an advantage for him, but I don’t care about that. I just want to start fighting so I can finally get him for myself.

"Yes, I do. It wouldn’t be fun if I couldn’t use my full power, would it?" He says as a purple "door" opens. I can’t see anything inside and it reminds me a lot of a portal or dungeon entrance.

"Ladies first," he says with false chivalry as I enter there with confidence, because I know he wouldn’t set a trap and ruin our fight.

After all, what would be the point of him setting a trap that would weaken me when he wants to fight with everything against me? That’s not his style, he’s more direct and brutal. He wants to fight with everything against an opponent who will also go all out against him.

As soon as I pass through the door, I see a familiar place, a stone terrain being a plain that seems to extend infinitely, while having extremely thick and tall pillars, although it looks different in some ways.

Now there are smaller pillars and some larger ones, as well as some very thin and others much thicker. The sky also has a strange purple and black tone that seems to match the entrance I used to come to this place.

’So this place really exists.’ It was the place where we fought for the first time, but I thought it was a spiritual plane or something like that since it was our souls that were here and not our bodies.

"Nice place," I compliment as Mikael appears out of nowhere as well, probably having entered the portal he opened.

"Yes, it was made by Mesumari and meets her tastes for an aesthetic environment for a direct fight," Mikael says, taking some distance from me, probably to start the fight.

"Of course, the environment also pleases me for a fight, since there are no real places to flee or hide, forcing whoever is inside to fight in any case if they don’t want to be killed," Mikael says with a malicious smile.

’Oh, so this is like the seal house where Violet lives, but the difference is that it’s much larger.’ It’s a big difference, although I don’t know what it’s like inside since Violet has never invited me.

"Ready for this, Demon King?" He asks, seeing how my tail is moving excitedly. I didn’t take the medicine while I was in the desert, so my non-human characteristics have returned.

"Of course, I’m always ready," I say as I prepare for this. Violet also prepares to fight.

"Then let’s begin," Mikael says, and I decide to start using the magic I had previously recited.

"[Gate of Hell]" I say, using the magic that soon begins its effect.
