The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss-Chapter 232: Agreement with Akari
Chapter 232: Agreement with Akari
"Aight, let me make a few things clear for ya, Akari," I say as I arrogantly plop my legs up on her desk like a delinquent. She’s clearly not comfortable with my feet on her papers.
Of course, I’m just purposefully flaunting arrogance because I can do it and she won’t say or do anything, so it’s fun.
"First off, your master can’t be brought back to life in this world, only in a little parallel world I’ve got with me," I say "parallel world" because they’re relatively simple.
That makes it more convincing for Akari to accept, since if I said I have an entire universe, it’s something she wouldn’t believe, since pocket dimensions already have pre-set laws.
Parallel worlds also already have pre-set laws and are easier to do, but universes don’t have any rules or laws applied to them, and that’s done manually, which is impossible for someone who doesn’t have all the necessary knowledge.
So Akari wouldn’t believe that I have the ability to create a universe from scratch and define its laws, which would just mess things up for now. She just needs to accept it and there’s no need to complicate it.
"Whatever, I don’t mind as long as I can be with her again..." I use my eyes to see her feelings and choose the best approach.
’Is that guilt?’ I think she feels guilty, probably for not having helped her master in the fight against the heroes more than 800 years ago, since if she had helped, things could have been different.
"Second thing, you won’t have much power in that place," My universe is relatively simple, and besides me, nothing there has large reserves of power or anything like that.
Even the inhabitants I created barely know how to use any magic, although they know complex magical formulas that I’ve passed through books to that place.
So in there, I’m the only one with power and the ability to do incredible things with my magic and mana.
"How much power won’t I have?" Akari asks as I calculate how much power she’ll lose, since my world doesn’t have a system to provide her with support and only has general or basic magic.
"I think you’ll lose about 95% of your total power," Maybe she’ll lose even more, I’m not sure exactly how strong Akari is, this is just an estimate based on the power I’m feeling from her at the moment, but she could be much weaker in my universe.
"!!!" She’s shocked, that’s a lot of power to lose all at once, but in my view, it’s worth it for her to be able to live happily with her master.
"Don’t worry, the place is safe as long as you don’t break the laws or disrespect the residents, there are no crimes there," The inhabitants of my universe are like little avatars of myself, but different in their own way.
So there’s no reason for them to argue with each other, and even the discussions are purposeful to give some life to the place and liven up everyone in their own way.
"...How can I know you’re not trying to deceive me maliciously?" She questions with distrust, after all, without proof I could just be lying to her.
"I’m someone who keeps my promises, if you want, I can swear by the name of the primordial goddess that I’m telling the truth," There’s nothing more valuable than that, no one would dare break a promise in the name of the primordial goddess.
I don’t care about Akari, whether she’s alive or dead doesn’t make a difference to me as long as she doesn’t get in my way, keeping her in my universe is just a method to remove her from the equation.
"...Pandora...you reek of blood, a really strong and even unpleasant smell, did you choose to betray humanity to side with the demons?" Akari briefly questions.
"...No, I didn’t betray humanity, because I was never on their side to begin with," I have no reason to fear Akari, I’m stronger than her and if we fight, I can win or escape easily.
"..."
"Why are you hesitating, Akari? Know that I’m not someone who makes repeated offers, if you don’t accept, I’ll never offer to bring your master back to life again," I don’t care about that.
Even with Akari in the war, it won’t make a difference, I’ll still win because in the end, she’s just a human. The biggest problem in the war would be Mikael with Mesumari, but since I’ll fight Mikael before the war, he won’t be fighting on humanity’s side.
"Do you think clinging to the humanity that killed your master is good? I’m sure your master would be disappointed by your lack of loyalty, you disgust me," I say with a look of disgust.
I’m really disgusted with Akari, she has the option to choose between a bunch of strangers and the one she loves, and yet she’s hesitating. I, with my great family values, find Akari’s indecision repulsive.
"T-That’s not so easy," She says, seeing my expression, but to me it seems very easy. It’s not a choice between two important things, it’s a choice between something important and something that’s not important.
"What’s not easy, Akari? Is it really that hard to choose the one you love? Then I guess you don’t really love her after all. Is it because she’s a demon? I bet you secretly hate her."
"I don’t hate her! I love my master!..." She says, all agitated.
"Then prove it, why are you hesitating in this choice? Incompetent," I insult her for her indecision, as someone smart, she should be able to decide easily.
"You know what happened to the dead body of your beloved master?" I’m going to incite her to accept this, and of course the subject catches her attention.
"It was used as a sex object even after death," I say without any filter to the truth, since Grimm really did that, Akari’s face quickly distorts in anger.
"WHAT!" She gets very upset at what she heard.
"Why are you so upset? It’s just a corpse, of course you shouldn’t care since you have so much trouble choosing your master over the humans, or is it that you wanted her body for yourself?" I say with pure sarcasm.
"If you choose your master, obviously a body doesn’t mean anything when she’ll be alive again."
"Alright, you win, I’ll go where my master is...but make sure my master’s body doesn’t go through that," She adds a condition that’s already been met, after all, I’ve already devoured that body.
"Great, so how about you leave just a clone here that obeys my orders while you go to the place where your master will be?" The universe I created is with me.
Or rather, it’s a part of me now. During those months I’ve been in the castle, I’ve tried various things with the universe I created, and one of them was to merge part of it into my own body.
So both the core in the castle and my own body serve as an entrance to this universe.
"You...will take full control of the academy...Pandora, what do you really want to achieve?" Akari questions intrigued.
"What I want is none of your business, all you need to know is what I’ve already told you, will you do what I said or not?" I already want to finish this long and boring conversation.
"...Alright, I’ll leave a clone that follows your orders, but swear in the name of the primordial goddess that this is not a trap to kill me and that my master will truly come back to life."
"That’s easy, I swear in the name of the primordial goddess that I, Pandora, am not lying to Akari and I’m not just sending her to a trap, and I also swear that I will bring her master back to life."
"..." She seems more at ease now, since such an oath cannot be broken in any way.
"...And Pandora, tell me why you have the exact same name as the Demon King that was announced to the whole world? Many nobles are questioning this and have asked me for an explanation since you are a student here."
’...oh...that’s right...’ I had forgotten about this fact, I need to come up with some excuse for my name, my brain works quickly to find a coherent answer with what they know about me.
"The reason is actually quite simple, my father hired someone with a prediction ability before I was born, and it was predicted that I would be killed by a curse involving my name, so there was a lot of secrecy in revealing my current name."
"And the recommendation for a name that couldn’t be used to kill me was what I have now, but my father didn’t know that this was the Demon King’s name."
"And now that I have a name similar to the Demon King, I’m kind of immune to that curse."
’What a strange excuse I had to invent...but I think it works’ It’s not a bad excuse, and it serves to explain why the Grand Duke has always kept the daughter’s name a secret until recently.
"I see, I’ll send that as a response then, you can go now and come back tomorrow to teach as a professor, and I’ll have a clone ready."
"Alright." I get up from the chair to leave, I think 1 day is enough for me to create a body based on what I saw in Grimm’s castle, it’s also good for me to personally visit the universe and see how the torture of the heroine is going.
