The Beautiful Boss's Personal Bodyguard-Chapter 330
Chapter 330: 330
"Zhou family, you think you’re so tough? Come out then!"
Inside the house, Zhou Aiguo and White Hair Girl kept silent. They had anticipated being blocked and insulted at their door but were helpless, huddling inside the house and letting the insults fly.
In the big, messy yard, gossips and trivial family matters were never scarce. Old Liu, the landlord, sat comfortably in front of the stove warming his hands, understanding the people here all too well. Let them quarrel, let off some steam, it’s better than getting worked up.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
A man and a woman entered the door; the man wore five-point star-shaped frog-eye glasses and had a ponytail, dyed yellow no less, clad in a black leather jacket, arm-in-arm with a heavily made-up woman, black stockings, thigh-high boots, leopard print shawl, with a face and dress quite the worse for wear.
Ye Tian stepped forward and asked, "What are you here for?"
The man with the frog-eye glasses, unfazed by someone addressing him while holding a stick, replied, "This is my house, this is my wife, and the people inside are my parents. What do you think I’m here for?"
Ye Tian was taken aback, this couple has a son?
While he was still stunned, White Hair Girl came out, "Jiang, you’re back. Lili, come in and have a seat."
The woman named Lili saw White Hair Girl in her loud floral padded jacket, scowled, and turned her head to the side in disdain.
"Ah, Mom, how many times have I told you, I’m now called Jack, stop calling me Jiang."
White Hair Girl nodded repeatedly, "Jack... come in, your father has been stewing chicken soup, waiting just for you guys."
"What chicken soup, it’s horribly tasteless." The little fairy Lili shook Gang’s arm, frowning, and Gang got the hint, waving his hand, "We won’t be coming in. Mom, just take care of yourselves, I’m about to leave on a business trip, have to catch the plane to the United States, if I don’t go now I’ll miss it."
"Ah? Going to the United States? Where’s that, why take a plane? Gang, planes aren’t safe, I’ve read in the newspapers, planes keep flying off and getting lost, we should take a train, trains are safe, they follow the rails and can’t get lost..."
"Alright, enough, just hand over the money, if we don’t leave now we’ll miss our flight."
Facing her impatient son, White Hair Girl hurriedly nodded and then rushed into the house, with those outside clearly hearing her complaining about Zhou Aiguo being slow to give money.
"Gang is going abroad, just give him that little bit more."
"He’s not going abroad for crap!"
"Just give him that little bit more."
"Here, take this. Is it enough? Take these as well. Tell him not to mistreat himself."
"Ah, come on, keep these two bucks for your cigarettes."
A commotion ensued, and White Hair Girl hurriedly walked out from inside the house, one hand holding a small cloth bundle wrapped in a red handkerchief, and the other holding a white rice pot, probably filled with chicken soup.
"Gang, take this, it’s chicken soup, drink it while it’s hot..."
"Ah, let’s just go, what’s with the chicken soup. We’re leaving."
A man and a woman walked out the door. The woman named Lili sashayed her large hips seductively, truly resembling a sow in heat.
Ye Tian didn’t know what to do. White Hair Girl glanced at Ye Tian, reluctantly offering the rice pot to him, "We slaughtered the chicken, so by right we should have our share. How about this, you take the chicken soup, and we’ll keep the chicken meat."
If it were Zhou Aiguo standing opposite him, Ye Tian would have definitely smacked him with a big slap, but now it was a woman standing there, and not just any woman, but one who had just shown a deep maternal love in front of him. This made it impossible for him to raise a hand, or say a single word.
Seeing that Ye Tian remained silent, White Hair Girl assumed he agreed, but as his hands did not reach out, she set the rice pot on the ground, took a few steps, then turned back and added, "The pot is from my home, return it after you’ve used it." With a bang, the door closed.
The whole yard was silent, no one spoke another word; just staring at each other. The big locust tree in the yard was bare, its branches covered with snow that was already melting and dripping to the ground, creating small pits all over.
The local dog tied to the rear wheel of the bicycle grunted, probably smelling the chicken soup, occasionally stretching its neck out, only to be kicked over by Ye Tian.
"Alright, let’s find a place to eat first."
Ye Tian handed the chicken soup to He Ku, said a word, and went towards the gate by himself.
Chuanzi went after him first, then Mo Yan, pulling He Ku along, followed suit, and finally He Biandan, who glanced at his own house, figured it wouldn’t be tidied up anytime soon, and joined the others.
Ye Tian felt quite uncomfortable inside. His feelings towards Zhou Aiguo and White Hair Girl started to change. If it weren’t for Zhou family’s son who had intervened rashly, he might have already kicked down the Zhou family’s door by now. He never used to hand out sympathy carelessly, except for matters of kinship. It was clear that their concern for their son was genuine. Furthermore, there was Zhou Aiguo’s gesture of "Take these too, is it enough." He didn’t hate himself; he just felt a blockage in his heart. He Biandan was doing it for his son, as was the Zhou family, and from this point of view, both families were acting for the same purpose, but he was clearly biased towards the He family.
The weak always elicited sympathy. But those who are pitiable often have faults that are detestable. Speaking of faults, the Zhou family’s lifestyle of scamming is all the more despicable.
Thinking this, Ye Tian suddenly found his answer. A person should never spread their personal pain onto others. This, fundamentally, is not worthy of sympathy.
Mo Yan was deeply distressed by Ye Tian’s actions and hinted several times at the dinner table, basically telling him to stay put and not cause trouble, and also warning him that this time was a fluke, the next time wouldn’t be so lucky, maybe even being abused in the detention center was possible. But Ye Tian simply didn’t want to hear any of it, and kept serving He Ku food. He did drink quite a lot of the chicken soup, while Mo Yan didn’t get a taste, which annoyed her enough to kick Ye Tian under the table.
He Biandan continued to work, with the year end approaching, there was an increase in water demand due to various activities; the last surge of water delivery had arrived. For temporary workers like He Biandan, it also meant becoming busier - in another sense, their spring had come. Meanwhile, Ye Tian patted his chest, taking it upon himself to rebuild the homeland, no matter what, this was caused by him. Even though he was acting under the guise of chivalry, the consequences let the father and son of the He family bear them on his behalf, and he felt extremely guilty about it.
