Star Gate-Chapter 1102: Shearing Sheep (I)
Chapter 1102: Shearing Sheep (I)
In the starry expanse, an angry yell sounded in Li Hao's ears.
“Li Hao!”
The young man jerked awake, his body feeling heavy. His teacher’s voice still echoed in his ears. What a terrifying situation! The enemy was able to entrance him even with the Sword Sovereign’s shadow continuously on the offensive and attacking him.
The Red Moon powerhouse had simply spoken a few words to influence Li Hao. His impact was impossible to resist!
What a horrifying existence. Was this what was meant to be an exalted emperor?
The young man’s ‘dao’ character operated once more, sending out waves of aura. The young man closed his eyes, reopening them to display sword light. He didn’t want to listen to his teacher’s voice, he just wanted to watch the Sword Sovereign’s shadow fight!
Each stroke was a natural product of the world, as if present since the beginning of time.
Li Hao forgot everything about the task at hand as he watched the figure fight. He ignored the influence from the Red Moon exalted emperor and stared raptly at his ancestor. Numerous swords appeared in his eyes, each of them a work of perfection and formidable beyond belief.
Sword intent brewed in the young man’s mind. He thought of something; the firmament cracked open in the cosmos and another world appeared—the dao universe.
“Hmm?” The Red Moon exalted emperor sensed the new addition and sent a surge of power to the crack.
Boom!
A massive collision rang through the void.
“Oof!” grunted the surprised exalted emperor. “The core origin dao universe? No... that doesn’t seem to be it. The new dao universe? But how can a minor world give birth to a new dao?”
It was only now that he learned there was a new dao in this world. That was incredible! This world was so weak that such an occurrence seemed impossible!
When dao universes were born, they were usually situated in premier worlds with a powerful heavenly will. The world itself had to be mature. How could a new dao arise in a minor world??
The Red Moon exalted emperor wanted to barge into this dao universe—this was an ultimate treasure in the eyes of all premier powerhouses. If an exalted emperor could not become the master of a world, then further cultivation progress was out of reach.
Anything was possible if they held sway over a new dao, however!
Li Hao’s shadow hovered in the void. He could see a billow of scarlet energy wanting to pollute the Hao Cosmos, but it was immediately destroyed by the dao universe.
Even the newest of dao universes was nothing to take lightly of. Any strength that was not of the dao universe would be exterminated without hesitation. Li Hao had only been able to bring Deputy Zhou into the Hao Cosmos because he’d done so through the supernatural characters.
The young man heaved a sigh of relief upon seeing the reaction from the Hao Cosmos and put the incursion out of mind. His supernatural characters surged into the dao universe.
A sword had appeared in the unattributed region of the Hao Cosmos. It delineated the universe, separated the world, and forged a distinct area for sword dao.
The sword captured sword intent!
The Sword Sovereign’s sword intent was quite marvelous. Just its presence made the heart palpitate.
The sword dao sector of the Hao Cosmos was gradually clarified. 360 dao meridians slowly manifested on Li Hao’s body. They weren’t all present as it required endless energy to materialize meridians.
Some of the newly appeared meridians swiftly cleared an acupoint—one acupoint was cleared in each of them.
Observing the battle of an exalted emperor and comprehending the true meaning of sword dao was not an opportunity available to anyone. Li Hao immersed himself in the opportunity and could also feel that his mental strength and auras were being ripped apart at the same time. But what did that matter?
Surges of immense sword intent surrounded Li Hao. They were accompanied by scarlet energy that sought to invade the young man. At times, his teacher’s angry roars sounded by his ears. Noise after noise rang his ear drums!
The ‘dao’ character overhead encompassed the myriad of daos. Tendrils of Hao Cosmos power surged out of it and rained down on Li Hao, enveloping him so that he was a divine entity bathed in starlight.
When he next opened his eyes, he no longer gazed upon the battle. Instead, a light erupted from his eyes as he looked around. The starry expansive was magnificent and expansive!
He saw a lot of things in this moment, such as the moon over the Red Moon exalted emperor. It should have been silver—the silver of the world’s name. But now it was tinged with red, like it was contaminated with the other’s power.
The young man could further see a doorway standing within the moon, one as resplendent as the stars.
The Star Gate!
This was the door that led to other worlds. It was Li Hao’s first time seeing it so clearly. There seemed to be something imprinted on the doorframe; great dao rose and fell within it.
Li Hao changed the direction of his gaze after contemplating it for a while. The Sword City should be nearby as well, within the world barrier. Where was it?
Light intensified in his eyes as he looked further into the depths.
After an indeterminate period of time, he saw a tiny city hovering in the starry deep. It was shaped like a sword and swayed amid the celestial radiance, but seemed completely dead to the senses.
It was a city that had completely fallen silent.
Is that Sword City? Li Hao’s eyes widened. He’d finally located the city!
It was said that the city had chosen to activate the seal and subdue this exalted emperor. Had the city suffered a complete demise in return?
The center of his forehead pulsed with pain before he could take a deeper look. The young man knew that too much pressure was present between a fight of two powerhouses. It was cutting into his mental strength, making it impossible for him to maintain his form.
He frowned at the spot where two people still fought each other. The other shadows standing in the area seemed unmoved. Logically speaking, powerhouses from all eight main families should be taking a stand to maintain their formation.
Only the Sword Sovereign had moved from beginning to end. The others seemed to have sunk into silence.
Ying Hongyue!
It must something have to do with the man. He’d seized the bloodlines of seven families, which in turn could possibly restrict the bloodline formation of the eight.
Li Hao disappeared as soon as his thoughts traveled here. The Red Moon exalted emperor’s voice rang in his mind as soon as he vanished, “You will become an existence second to only me if you break the seal...”
......
Li Hao returned to his spot in front of the stone door. Red light sparkled over his body and Yuan Shuo flared his own presence in response.
“Li Hao!” His voice was hoarse.
The young man opened his eyes to look at his teacher. Yuan Shuo watched gravely, looking at his student covered in red light and uncertain if he was still himself.
“Wake up!” Yuan Shuo shouted again. A ferocious tiger roared and auras trembled! The power of the five elements exploded, as if to awaken Li Hao. The young man chuckled, having some thoughts of his own. Stellaris appeared to rip through the void.
The Hao Cosmos manifested and Li Hao darted promptly within.
Rumble!!
An immense force traveled from the Hao Cosmos and sought to tear Li Hao apart. Or rather, it sought to tear the scarlet energy within him apart. This was strength from the outside world and did not match the Hao Cosmos. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Thunder roared by his ear! Energy roiled in his body! Countless types of strength descended upon him when Li Hao entered the dao universe. It filled his body and forced out a surge of scarlet energy with a loud crash.
It seemed to collect into a figure and was promptly destroyed by the boundless energy within the Hao Cosmos. A muffled grunt sounded in the uninhabited dao universe—it didn’t belong to Li Hao!
“It... really did contaminate me!” The look in Li Hao’s eyes filled with fear and shock. He felt that he hadn’t been overly influenced and remained awake all this time.
The Sword Sovereign’s sword intent, his own sword intent, his master’s roars, and the existence of auras had enabled him to avoid the other’s taint. But in reality, vestiges of it remained. Its lurking power infected his mind and body.
It took the Hao Cosmos abhorring external power to shatter it; not even exalted emperors were permitted! A strand of strength from an exalted emperor was hard pressed to withstand an entire dao universe.
“That was terrifying!” Li Hao rocked back on his heels, then smiled. He swallowed all of the converging energy and infused his body with different types of dao strength.
Dao meridians consecutively popped into existence—this energy was so much more useful than Water of Life. This was the true strength of dao. It’d collected together to annihilate Red Moon power and happened to benefit Li Hao in the end.
“This... is the strength of the dao universe... which counters their strength...” His eyes were so bright that they were blinding.
If I am repeatedly contaminated, then enter the Hao Cosmos to have the dao universe destroy that strength... Won’t I be able to devour this power of a myriad daos?
But I’ll trigger the seal each time I go. Will that end up weakening the seal? And will that cause the Red Moon exalted emperor to sense something?
He should’ve left something within his body, but had forgotten this detail. The other might be able to sense the state of his body.
Earthflare!
He suddenly recalled the information that Deputy Zhou had just shared with him. Earthflare, Director General Zhao!
The director general might be contaminated.
The young man’s eyes lit up. Earthflare... should be a Saint. He might be a New Martial citizen, but was infected by the Red Moon exalted powerhouse or outright from Red Moon major world.
That didn’t matter! What did was that this power drew a reaction from the dao universe. Core origin energy seemed to be targeted as well...
But Li Hao quickly shook his head to deny that course of action. There was very little core origin strength among the powerhouses these days as that great dao had vanished from the world. It was very difficult for those of New Martial to gather core origin energy, he should not experiment on them.
Director General Zhao seemed to be under Red Moon influence and wholly unaware of it, like he had been moments ago. Therefore, he didn’t think there was anything wrong with him. The director general was weaker than Li Hao and... would probably react the same way as the young man, finding it impossible that he had been infected because he didn’t sense anything.
I should be able to take care of some problems if I can shove Director General Zhao in here, and not just him...
A new thought occurred to Li Hao. Perhaps the Red Moon energy had infected more than one person—the New Martial traitors! Hao Cosmos energy happened to counter this strength! As for who precisely was under the influence, all he needed to do was to pull them into the dao universe for a look.
That might be the best detection method because he himself wasn’t certain how far these people’s grasp extended.
Li Hao started to view his recent happenings with fear. This strength was very frightening. If a large sum of people had been contaminated, they would mutiny at a critical moment and come under the other’s control.
