Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure-Chapter 1501: Magic ruins (1)
It wasn't as if I could explain this since I didn't understand why they were like this as well.
No, it wasn't that I didn't understand, it was just that I had no way of explaining it.
This was just the fervor that these people seemed to have towards the pure and dense mana that I had.
In a sense, I was a specimen that caught their attention and they gathered around me.
So even if I did explain it, it wasn't as if it was that easy to explain.
At least they didn't do anything that was considered overboard.
…
"It's time for a class trip." The Azure Sage said after we arrived at the magic academy. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
It had already been a week since we enrolled in the magic academy.
During this time, we had gone to our classes as per usual and had learned quite a bit of magic knowledge from the Sorcery Empire.
It even felt like we were reaching the end of this exchange program.
After all, it didn't seem like there was anything else that was left for us to learn.
The things that we could learn after this was all a bunch of magic knowledge that was too complicated to pick up simply. It was the research that even confused the magicians of the Sorcery Empire.
This was the kind of research that would take a lifetime to come up with some kind of breakthrough.
So it definitely was not something that we could get ourselves involved in long term.
Since that was the case, it seemed like we had reached the limit of this magic exchange and it should have been time to head back.
But that was when the Azure Sage suddenly came to announce this.
It was as if he recognized that we would be leaving soon, so he was doing this one thing to stop us from leaving.
However, even if it did seem tempting, it wasn't as if I would be moved that easily.
At the same time, it wasn't as if there was anything to gain from going on this school trip.
Or that was what I thought until I heard what the Azure Sage had to say.
"The trip will be taking place in these ruins that were left behind by an ancient society."
I couldn't help looking at the Azure Sage with a strange look when he finished saying this, but he just looked back at me with a smile on his face as if he wasn't bothered at all by the way that I was looking at him.
In fact, it even seemed like he was a bit smug as he looked at me with this smile.
It was as if he had expected this reaction from me.
I was a bit annoyed seeing him like this, but I had to admit that what he said did move me a bit.
Especially since it was a set of ruins that had been left behind by an ancient society.
I had never heard of this ancient society before, but it wasn't as if the Azure Sage would lie about something like this. There was even a part of me that was wondering something about this ancient society.
As if he could see the look of thought that was on my face, the Azure Sage said, "That's right. The founders of the Sorcery Empire found some notes from the ancient society in those ruins and that was what allowed them to reach the level of sages. In a sense, this is where our Sorcery Empire came from."
I couldn't help looking at the Azure Sage with a very strange look when he said this.
Though I had my doubts, I didn't think that he would actually confirm it like this.
In fact, the fact that he had admitted this basically guaranteed that this was the case.
After all, this kind of thing was very easy to verify and going to the ruins would expose everything. So it wasn't as if he would tell this kind of lie that would be that easy to expose just to trick us into going to the ruins.
So far, nothing had ruined the relationship between us and we had gotten closer because of what happened in the magic academy.
It wouldn't be worth it for him to lie just to trick us to go to these ruins.
But that also meant that there was something else that was the problem.
This should clearly be a secret for the Sorcery Empire since this was something that was related to the very foundation of the Sorcery Empire. For him to reveal something like this, it was almost as if he was going against the Sorcery Empire itself.
That meant that he should have some kind of ulterior motive for doing this.
Did this mean that he was trying to lure me into some kind of trap?
Or did it mean that the Sorcery Empire had already gotten everything that they wanted out of these ruins, which was why they were allowing us to enter these ruins?
There were just too many things that didn't seem to make sense with the Azure Sage proposing something like this. At the same time, it wasn't as if I would be able to figure anything out by standing here.
Looking at the way that the Azure Sage looked at me with that same smile on his face annoyed me, but…
"Alright, we'll go on this school trip."
The Azure Sage gave a nod with that same smile as if he had already expected this before saying, "We'll arrange for your groups according to your classes."
"No, we'll be going together with no one else."
"This…is a bit inappropriate." The smile disappeared from the Azure Sage's face when he heard this.
Only I said, "Well, then I guess we won't be going on this trip."
The Azure Sage didn't say anything in response as I looked at him with a smile this time.
In the end, he slowly gave a nod as if he was agreeing to my conditions.
It wasn't as if there was anything else that he could do at this point.
