Shadows of the Deep Space-Chapter 120 Dead (First Update)
Chapter 120: Chapter 120 Dead (First Update)
Mia no longer paid any attention to Rhein and the others, she looked down at the timer in her hand, which displayed 29 minutes and 12 seconds.
When the timer reached 30 minutes.
Su Ming had stopped struggling in the training pool and lay motionless, soaking in the water.
"The squad leader isn’t moving? Did he die?"
Angel shouted in horror.
Rhein and the others were also stunned, not knowing what to say.
"Shut up, die what death, he can’t die!"
Mia said irritably to everyone, while simultaneously pressing the timer, restarting the countdown!
In fact, this training pool was specifically designed for training in Super Neural Connection State; the liquid inside was specially blended and wouldn’t drown a person.
After soaking for thirty minutes, the body would reach its limit and enter the Super Neural Connection State. Of course, it didn’t rule out the possibility that instead of entering that state, they would pass out from drowning.
At this moment, Su Ming’s consciousness was in a pitch-black abyss, sinking continuously.
"Where is this?"
"Doesn’t this feeling seem familiar?"
"Have I died?"
...
Su Ming was very confused, his mind kept reflecting on these questions.
At this time, the timer in Mia’s hand jumped to 30 seconds, and she immediately crouched down and pulled Su Ming out of the training pool.
The reason Mia had to pull Su Ming out within 30 seconds was simple; she couldn’t tell whether Su Ming had entered the Super Neural Connection State or had passed out from drowning.
To prevent brain death, she pulled him out.
Mia then placed her hands on Su Ming’s abdomen and pressed down hard twice.
"Pfft~"
Su Ming immediately spat out a thick green liquid, coughing violently with a pained expression on his face.
"Squad leader, are you okay?"
Angel and others stepped forward, concerned.
"I’m fine, what happened to me?"
Su Ming asked, his voice somewhat dazed.
Rhein and the others suddenly fell silent, unsure how to answer Su Ming, especially since the culprit was still present.
At that moment, Mia pulled Su Ming to his feet and then asked eagerly.
"Su Ming, when you passed out, was your mind still conscious?"
"Uh? Yes, very much so?"
Su Ming paused, then responded truthfully.
When Mia heard Su Ming’s answer, she became ecstatic, and slapped him on the back.
"Fantastic!"
Su Ming stumbled and fell back into the training pool.
"Squad leader!"
Rhein and the others were startled and rushed to help Su Ming out.
"Teacher, you’re not going to do it again, are you?"
Angel and the others asked nervously.
"No, it was a mistake! Haha!"
Mia said, extremely excited; it really wasn’t her fault for being so overwhelmed. Su Ming was the second student since the founding of the Imperial Court Academy to enter the Super Neural Connection State on his first training.
As for the first student who managed to do that, he was now a great general of the Federation, Sigurd, known as ’Hell’s Regular.’
She really had struck gold this time!
"Teacher, what are you doing?"
Su Ming climbed out of the training pool helplessly and looked at Mia in confusion.
At that moment, Mia coughed and, trying to suppress the elation in her heart, said lazily to Su Ming.
"Nothing, just slipped my hand!"
"Really?"
Rhein and the others looked dubious.
"What real or not real, shouldn’t you be hurrying back to continue your training?"
Mia scolded impatiently.
Hearing Mia’s words, Rhein and the others could only return to their own training pools to continue holding their breath and training.
Su Ming caught his breath for a while, just as he was about to get out of the training pool.
Mia said to him.
"Take a twenty-minute break, then continue training!"
"Okay."
Su Ming nodded his head.
Several hours later, Mia glanced at the time, saw it was almost dawn, and then clapped her hands, calling out to everyone.
"Training ends here for today. Head to the changing room, change your clothes, and remember to wash up thoroughly and fold them neatly!"
"Oh!"
After hearing Mia’s words, everyone showed a slightly odd expression on their faces.
However, they didn’t say much, just climbed out of the training pool one by one and silently headed toward the changing room.
Before long, Mia and Su Ming, along with others, left the training room, closing the door behind them.
At that moment, a secret door on the smooth wall inside the training room was pushed open, and an old man wearing Imperial Court Academy’s managerial uniform, white-haired and wrinkled-faced, stepped out with his hands behind his back.
He looked at the damaged training pool, sighed helplessly, and shook his head.
"Sigh!"
Outside the training building, Mia, guiding Su Ming and the rest, walked out, yawning and waving her hand as she spoke.
"There’s no class during the day, so you’re free to do as you please. Those who want to catch up on sleep can go back and do so. Dismissed!"
"Okay."
Angel and the others responded.
After giving her instructions, Mia turned and left.
Once Mia was gone, Rhein and the others huddled close to Su Ming and spoke softly.
"Class leader, you need to be extra careful lately!"
"Why?"
Su Ming looked at them, puzzled.
"Mia’s teacher has been targeting you. It must be because of the last fight, when you collided with her and made her lose face. During training just now, she kept pressing on you, not allowing you to come up!"
Rhein explained in a low voice.
"That’s right. We tried to stop her, but she wouldn’t allow it!"
Zhang Yi said to Su Ming, visibly shaken.
Su Ming pondered for a moment and replied.
"I understand."
Seven days later, in the dead of night.
Su Ming and the others, wearing soft shoes, gathered in a secluded corner of the school, waiting for Teacher Mia.
Over these seven days, under Teacher Mia’s lead, they sneaked into the training room in the middle of the night for special training.
"Class leader, have you noticed anything odd about your body?"
Rhein asked Su Ming, his voice low.
"Odd? What do you mean odd?"
Su Ming looked at Rhein, slightly surprised.
"I mean your head! Lately, I clearly feel more alert, my memory is off the charts, and I feel rejuvenated!"
Rhein replied, somewhat unsure.
Hearing that, Zhang Yi came over to join in the conversation.
"Me too! I feel like I’ve gotten smarter."
"Yeah, my spirits have been really high!"
"Could it be those training liquids?"
Su Ming replied thoughtfully, as he too had noticed his mental state had improved but hadn’t paid it much attention before.
"It seems likely."
Zhang Yi and the others agreed.
After a moment of hesitation, Rhein spoke up.
"Actually, I’ve been asking around about that training room lately."
"And?"
Su Ming and the others looked at Rhein, curious.
"That’s no ordinary training room. It’s specifically for use by senior students, and it’s even fee-based, with notoriously high costs!"
Rhein explained to Su Ming and the group.
"No way, does that mean if the school finds out we’ve been sneaking in to use it, we’re dead meat?"
Zhang Yi struggled to swallow his saliva.
"Right, and we’ve been sneaking in every day?"
Shi Wushan and others were also in a panic.
