The car dealership had also suffered from the aftermath of the meteorite shower. The roof was partly collapsed, there was debris everywhere, and some of the vehicles could be seen deformed under the weight.

Broken glass decorated the floor and outside of the building as shattered windows offered easier access into the show room.

Unfortunately, about a dozen zombies could also be seen roaming around inside the collapsed mess of a building while others moved towards them attracted by the scent and the noise created by the fired shots.

Observing this situation, the two knew that they had to fight these zombies so as to gain access inside. However, Leng Pan also thought that splitting up might yield better results. So, she made the suggestion to split.

"Let’s split up and move separately, it will be better." However, as expected, her suggestion was met with rejection from Lu Zhen.

"Absolutely not. I will not let you out of my sight."

The man was way too protective and in a situation with an unknown risk, he wasn’t willing to let his wife out of his sight. Protecting her was his mission and having her separate from him, even for a moment introduced uncertain factors that he couldn’t control.

"Baby, it’s too dangerous. What if I don’t manage to lure all the zombies away and some attack you while I am far away and can’t protect you?" Lu Zhen argued while at the same time throwing a small fireball at an approaching zombie.

His fire was indeed mutated and powerful. A small ball of fire could burn an entire zombie without extinguishing until it turns to ashes. Moreover, any other zombie that comes into contact with it while still burning also catches fire and burns the same way. It was more like causing a chain reaction.

This method could be very useful if a large horde of zombies appear.

"I am not some kind of a green house flower that needs constant protection. I also need to grow and test my ability. Even though it’s a little risky, I will be careful and use my superpower to fight as soon as any threat presents itself.

Hubby, it’s not just you who wants to get stronger to protect me and the others, I also want to improve my strength so that I can protect you too. I don’t want to be your burden, I want to be your equal. To fight side-by-side with you and help you protect those dear to us.

She could have asserted her position aggressively, but she chose a soft method to convince him because she knew that all his decisions were because he cared too much about her.

If she didn’t use logic to convince him, he might agree to let her go inside alone, but because of his excessive worry, he could become careless and get hurt while worrying about her.

While they were talking, many zombies had almost surrounded them and were advancing in their direction. Even the zombies that had been roaming inside the show room had left through the shattered doors and gaps in the fallen walls.

Seeing over hundred zombies coming their way, the two didn’t panic, their expressions got serious and the weapons in their hands were put away.

Lu Zhen put the water bottle in his jacket and started dispatching fire needles in the direction of the dealership building. He wanted to create a path for Leng Pan first before luring the rest of the zombies away.
