Chapter 945: Great Fool

A few minutes had gone by, and ViciouSorc no longer suspected Xu Feng’s identity as they continued to travel along.

Throughout the journey, ViciouSorc would constantly throw random questions known only to the Malefic Order Guild and Drifcore. Yet without any hesitation, Xu Feng would answer them in an instant.

In fact, Xu Feng even reprimanded and scolded ViciouSorc for being so ignorant.

“Are you really an elite of Driftcore?” Xu Feng raised an eyebrow and twitched his mouth. “How do you not know about our upcoming development? Or could it be that you’re very low ranked and Driftcore isn’t treating you well?”

“That’s not it, Brother Reckonizer.” ViciouSorc had already assumed lower seniority and shook his head. “I have been undergoing strict training, so I haven’t been able to interact much.” ƒrēenovelkiss.com

“Mhmm, we’ve done so many simulations of a major boss siege, but it was all for naught.” Mentos chimed in and sighed softly.

They didn’t have many utilities stored in their inventory because they didn’t anticipate a prolonged trial—much less one that required them to eliminate other players.

If it wasn’t for their luck to be quite close to each other, then they would have already been eliminated from the start.

Nodding, Xu Feng pretended to sympathize with them on the surface. But deep down, he was sneering because they were still extremely cautious and vigilant.

Till now, they had yet to inform him about the hidden Assassin that was following them closely behind. This alone goes to show that even though they somewhat believed his identity already, they were still clever enough to hold back their cards.

“Hmm, the player count dwindled down to 87 already.” ViciouSorc suddenly said. Previously, it was 119, but in the blink of an eye, another 32 players were eliminated.

Xu Feng exhaled softly and shook his head.

“I only hope that I can group with Malefic Order Guild soon and that we haven’t lost too many people.” He clenched his fist and immersed himself in his role as a member of the Malefic Order Guild.

“Same here for our Driftcore.”

“It would be nice if we could encounter either one, but if we encounter those external force players. Then we’re going to be filled with trouble.” Xu Feng then reminded them of the possible threat.

Thanks to the representatives’ arrogance and breaking off their facade before even starting the trial, they had now managed to shoot themselves in the foot.

The external force players who were practically threatened would definitely take full advantage of the chaos to get some payback.

ViciouSorc frowned and understood the more time they spent without grouping, the higher their danger would become.

“Anyway, Brother Reckonizer, are you sure you could sense your fellow guildmates?” ViciouSorc suddenly inquired. “We have been traveling for a while now but haven’t encountered anyone.”

“Of course,” Xu Feng chuckled. “It’s just that their location is a bit far. You wouldn’t think I would dare to travel this far without any concern if I wasn’t certain, right?”

His words were reasonable and they failed to find anything wrong with it.

But little did they know, Xu Feng was purposely guiding them to a death zone.

The trial was battle royale—this part was long established. However, the System never stated that only players were within the battle royale.

Those who remained unaware only thought players were being eliminated because they got caught and killed by fellow players.

But Xu Feng knew that when a large number of players were killed simultaneously, they didn’t stumble across another group of players. Instead, it was a ferocious monster who was lurking in the vast field.

Of course, there wouldn’t be just one ferocious monster within such a large field. There had got to be many more in hiding, and one of them happened to be an area that Xu Feng knew about.

‘The Swamp Alligator could drop juicy rewards. These three idiots will be my bait to lure it out of the swamp water.’ Xu Feng sneered inwardly.

With that in mind, Xu Feng continued to deceive and guide the idiots toward the swamp region.

Suddenly, Xu Feng halted his steps and raised his hand.

“Who’s there?” He shouted.

Both ViciouSorc and Mentos narrowed their eyes upon hearing that. They went to battle stance and were ready to strike.

Sure enough, amidst the misty-like atmosphere, four people emerged with a cold expression.

“Crap, it’s one of those external force players!” ViciouSorc hissed and realized the situation went from neutral to terrible.

These external force players were also the ones reprimanded heavily from the beginning.

Xu Feng also recognized one of them to be Robin, who hailed from the Lazy Horizon Guild.

Robin glanced at the people in front and quickly identified them to be from Driftcore.

However, when his eyes lay on Xu Feng, he tilted his head slightly.

“Oy, you’re not from the representative guilds, right?” He pointed at Xu Feng and questioned.

His meaning of representative guilds was naturally not the ones NPC recognized, but the 6 major guilds who were organizing the trial.

Xu Feng shook his head. “No, I’m not.”

“If you’re not, then what are you doing with Driftcore’s people?” Robin pressed on.

“They threatened me to support them.” Xu Feng spread his arms. “I’m a lonely healer out in this crazy battle royale. If I don’t support them, then they will kill me.”

“Is that so?” Robin narrowed his eyes slightly. Although the words were very logical and reasonable, it was hard to eliminate all suspicion.

“Since you’re not part of them, then come over here and help us kill them. As long as you attack them, then I shall believe you are innocent. We only want to target the representative guilds.”

Upon hearing that, Xu Feng nearly wanted to curse the latter.

What did this Robin take him for?

A great fool?

Robin’s instruction might have seemed as if he had really wanted to give Xu Feng a chance to prove himself to be innocent. However, any veteran would know Robin would eliminate him as soon as he entered the lethal zone.
