Reincarnated With a SSS-Rank Hypnosis Skill in Another World-Chapter 17 - Overwhelming Talent
Chapter 17 - 17 - Overwhelming Talent
"Make sure to keep your eyes on me, understood?" Seraphina said as she looked away from me and placed herself in a running position. However, she didn't move yet.
I looked at her quickly as she was about to demonstrate how to use the spell, [Blink], a spell that the past Jake had over 91% in comprehension of, which meant that he was even able to use it while fighting.
However, compared to him, my comprehension was zero. Most of the things written on my status regarding spell comprehension were all lies based on memories that I could not access.
At least I had a chance to "learn" things very fast with the help of [Arcana Assimilation], which had truly been a heavenly gift for me, allowing me to copy others.
Nevertheless, I removed those useless thoughts from my mind as I gave all of my attention to Seraphina.
It was a sight to behold as I looked at her from the side. She was just as pretty, if not more. She was slightly frowning with a focused gaze, her body once more a sight to behold.
She was slightly leaned forward, her white dress barely able to contain her as it jiggled with each breath she took; even I could see it from a distance, and I had to admit that it was one sight to behold.
It was unfortunate that her loyalty to me was so low and her hypnosis resistance was so high. There was basically no chance of me hypnotizing her anytime soon.
Then, in the blink of an eye, she disappeared from her position, a weak pulse of mana emitting from her body. The next second, she found herself three meters in front of her past position.
'Blink. This is completely overpowered.'
I instantly understood just how powerful a skill this could be.
It could be useful if I were to learn how to use a close-ranged weapon. A sword, a dagger, a spear—it didn't matter. Being able to basically teleport in front of your opponent without them being able to even react was overpowered.
The same could be said about dodging. If I were able to use this skill naturally without having to think, dodging spells aimed at me would be as easy as breathing.
I only had one worry: the mana output necessary to execute this spell.
[You have observed a highly talented mage perform the [Blink] spell. Your understanding of the spell has very slightly increased.]
Everything had happened so fast that I had barely been able to see anything, especially since I had been a little distracted by her beautiful and voluptuous figure.
[Theoretical Comprehension of the Blink Spell: 91%]
[However, since you have no access to the past memories of this body, the comprehensions of all your skills have been reset to zero.]
I didn't have much of a reaction since that was simply normal. The previous status that had been shown had been a little false because of it. But now, it made a lot more sense.
[Updated Theoretical Comprehension of the Blink Spell: 0% -> 4%]
My eyes widened.
It had increased by a whole 4% by only looking at it once. I already knew from earlier that the spell was completely overpowered. But this was on a completely other level than what I could have ever imagined.
"So, did you understand something?" Seraphina asked as I had been staring at her with my mouth wide open for the past few seconds. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"I think so... but I still have the problem of transforming my Neutral Mana into Space Mana. Do you have any tips on how I could do that?"
She smirked. "There's not much that can be said about that. Space, Time, Darkness, and those kinds of affinities are quite rare among individuals, and a long time ago it was deemed impossible to find a general emotion to use those affinities. All I can say is that when I use the Space Affinity Mana, I close my eyes, slowly breathe in and out until I feel as if the world around me begins to slow down. Only then do I activate it."
'The world slows down...' I slightly frowned as this seemed a little more oriented toward the Time Affinity. However, I kept my mouth shut since she was the Eight Mana Circle Mage and I was a complete newbie.
I decided to try it out. I took a few deep breaths until my heartbeat became very regular, then I slowly closed my eyes and tried to find myself in a state of quasi-meditation. Once I felt my body, I focused solely on [Blink]. I opened my eyes and noticed a bead of sweat on Seraphina's forehead going down slower than before.
'I think I did it...' I thought momentarily.
But then the moment I got distracted, everything started moving fast again, and I fell face-first against the ground.
However, something unexpected happened.
[Seraphina Calis's Loyalty has increased: 5 -> 13]
I looked up and saw her jaw wide open.

[Seraphina Calis's POV]
I didn't know what to say.
The way in which he learned things was unlike anything I had seen before in my life.
He didn't know a single thing about magic. But the moment he stared at me doing something, it's as if his mind instantly clicked and he was able to replicate a part of it.
It's almost scary. The scariest thing about all this is that he's doing this to me, an Eight Mana Circle Mage. He's able to partially copy me.
I had not felt the slightest presence of mana affinities apart from the Fire one, and here he was, using the Space and Time Affinities at the same time after looking at me using Blink.
I looked at him, falling on the ground, mind-blown by his talent.
It was at this very moment that I knew Jake Vale would become one of the strongest mages in the future.
It was only the beginning.
He would even surpass me, given enough time.
