Reincarnated To Evolve My Bee Empire-Chapter 278: It’s dangerous to go alone, take this!
The humans had a lot of problems on their hands with the onset of rapid evolution world-wide, and they didn't know it was only a start. The more time passed, the more creatures would evolve.
I could only guess that since the God of Humanity didn't give me extra points for helping humans (so far), he must've been spending them on humans directly. This meant that they would evolve as well.
Slowly. It would take years until this will be noticed at all.
…It was good to be a bee.
It was good for humans that I, their neighborhood benevolent Bee Emperor, decided to conquer them!
Things would've been *much* easier if the High King was easier to brainwash, but the plan "Rebellion of the Messiah" was also acceptable.
While Farini traveled to Hive Supremo, the Empire Council had time to discuss it in detail. Now I only had to tell Farini what to do.
'I will send a legion of my best warriors with you, Farini, to aid your military efforts,' I told him telepathically.
Farini looked at the Warriors that were standing at the ready near the hive entrance. Until now, they just acted as guards… But in reality, they really were an army ready to set off.
I messaged Bloodimina, who was leading them, to approach us a little.
Her forces were all made of Beemarines, many of them pretty young. They were an elite, and although their faces were stoic, their faces were gleaming with excitement at the idea of an anti-human campaign.
They flew out of the hive without a single drum needed, in perfect synchrony, and hovered in a cubical formation. Twenty thousand bees! And many more could be brought forth if necessary.
Farini let out a shocked jaw-click.
'Warriors like these? It would be an honor to fight side by side with them! They must be incredibly powerful, being holy guardians, after all!'
I chuckled.
'Your faith in us is pleasing, but don't be too hasty. Only a tiny part of these Warriors' true divine might can exist in the mortal realm. Individually, they are a hundred times weaker than a human… But their sting is still deadly, and they can act as unseen and unexpected assassins and scouts. They will be a great help for you.'
'Assassins… If I were to target the most loyal supporters of the High King, it would spare a lot of the soldiers and commoners who just couldn't help but to follow their masters.'
'Yes, we knew you possess wisdom that not every mortal does.' I nodded. 'I will also send others with you—those who carry the divine wisdom with them on parchment and in their memories. They will help you fight the illnesses that spread through the land, and to improve the lives of your people in other ways. Right now they aren't here, but you will meet them on your way back to other humans.'
This was a great opportunity to send Researcher Explanatory and her entire team on the grandest research expedition so far. She had gathered almost all the knowledge about humans that she could without leaving the surroundings of the Krisha village.
But next to Farini she will be able to explore human culture in-depth. Explanatory was already excited for this opportunity and boasted being able to speak a surprising amount of words in the human language.
She could speak like a toddler, perhaps—and of course, she taught many other bees, mostly Researchers and Beehounds in her team. I was sure that in a few more months Explanatory would speak with only a slight accent that came from the inability to open her jaw sideways.
And being a Researcher, Explanatory could share insight on a lot of technologies.
'Will the blessings brought to me never end?' Whisper transferred to me Farini's thoughts and added to it her own giggle. 'Father, you are spoiling him—he can barely believe his luck!'
'Oh, I know you can keep him humble, Whisper,' I told her while Farini bowed deeply to me. He thought so many elaborate words of thanks that after the first few I told Whisper she could just summarize them.
'In return to all of this, Farini, you must feed and transport the people I send to your aid, treat them with respect, and keep them secret from all but those whom we will deem worthy of this knowledge,' I told him after he was done expressing his gratitude. 'Don't worry, we eat the same mortal food as you do, and you will have no issue feeding your new army.'
'Of course, it will be done, Holy Emperor,' Farini replied, bowing again. Whisper had to hold on tight to not fall off his head.
'Also, you will arrange offerings to be brought to us regularly in show of your continued loyalty. Again, you will have no problem bringing enough to satisfy us, Farini.'
Farini agreed again, without hesitation. I was really pleased—not only was he devout, I bet he considered offerings to be something that goes without saying.
Whisper confirmed it a moment later.
'It's a good thing that you mentioned offerings, Father, or I'd bet he would want to make some to the nearest temple. Ha! It'd be much more useful for us if he instead brought us iron.'
This was absolutely true. In the last months, after Researchina developed a working model of a steam engine and a usable on a wide scale method to produce steel, we needed more iron and coal than ever!
While we mined coal on our own—not only in Hive Rich, but in several other mines dug near it—other metals were still a problem. People from Krisha traded a lot of metal to us, but the latest war made it hard for them to trade with bigger settlements—and on their own they were poor like church mice.
'Now go, Farini. Take the awaiting Warriors with you and spread the divine will! Whisper will stay your personal guardian and explain to you all the other things you might know.'
Farini nodded and made a step back.
'Didn't you hear us? Our Imperial Majesty told you to *take* the Warriors with you. Open your bag, Farini!'
