Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 227: Ascension, New Missions
Outside the pocket dimension, the main world.
The seawater was calm, absent of the usual disturbance that it once had when that portal opened up.
The late afternoon sun hung high in the sky, casting a positive glow over the whole sea and the lands it encompassed.
Small and big birds soared through the sky, some flew above the clouds, and some flew beneath it.
This was the same place that had a swirling whirlpool a day ago, the same place where the gates to a treasure-filled dimension had opened up.
The rumors that the portal had opened had diffused into the societies of the sea, having already been modified multiple times to produce different versions of the real news.
The few creatures that had been able to escape from the pocket dimension before the portal closed spoke of a terrifying aura sweeping over the entire land of the false world; they said that a monster had been born and that the end was coming.
Sharks swam for their life, not stopping unless to share the news of what they saw with other sharks.
And that was not all, many of the patron sea creatures had discovered that the Paradise Beach settlement had experienced a devastating battle in this period.
An unknown force, a faction never seen before, had come forward to conquer the beach for themselves.
There were words of wolves, different species of birds, bears, and goats. The whole settlement had been conquered within a night, Harath and Stella of all people had submitted, many died, but many more submitted to a foreign power like them.
The change in the status of the Beach's settlement upset many aquatic creatures. That settlement had been their go-to spot to trade for fresh meat that couldn't be found in the sea. Many herbivores had discovered seaweed and many other aquatic vegetation and they were always trading for it with land-based plantations.
Now, that trading bridge had been burned down, leaving a gap for whoever had the guts to fill it up.
But even with all that, the creatures of the sea had other things to worry about other than the beach settlement.
The absence of so many high-level creatures who had gone missing after the portal closed had left this particular region of the sea with a massive power gap.
So many squids and octopuses had disappeared, the only ones left were the weaklings, most of whom had not even awakened their hearts and gained true power.
Overnight, the squids and octopuses went from the strongest factions in the sea to the absolute weakest.
A lot of opportunist predators had already set their eyes on the remaining squids and octopuses, having decided to use the latest group of weaklings as a staple source of food.
This was how things were going to be from now on, the beach settlement was lost and there would be a massive power struggle in the sea until a few new powerful factions or creatures rose up to dominate.
At least, this is what should have happened if not for the existence of a certain golden lion.
*PLOP PLUP PLOP PLUP!*
The waters stirred and turned, and bubbles rose and popped at the bottom of the sea.
At the sea floor, transparent lights flashed rapidly as spatial cracks appeared and spread out from one point in space.
It was from this spatial crack that bubbles ceaselessly spurted from.
A whirlpool began to form as the spatial forces in the environment reacted and spun around to form the portal gate.
Before the whirlpool had formed halfway, the spatial crack had widened enough for a tier 3 water lioness to rush out.
This water lioness did not swim out of the widening portal with haste as one would think, rather, she had an expression of relief on her face as well as a look of acceptance in her eyes.
Her webbed paws kicked against the water, propelling her forward and toward the surface. That fear that she had when she had been inside the pocket dimension a few minutes ago was completely gone.
In fact, she even had a bit of excitement in her heart, she was curious about what the future held for her.
In front of her face, a golden screen appeared, blending well with the surrounding water. The water lioness stared at the golden screen for a second, confirming that it indeed existed.
As she swam away, the spatial crack behind her kept on widening and more Water Lions and lionesses swam out with different expressions.
Some of them had fear, some had anxiety, and some were excited, but they also shared a common look of acceptance.
More than two hundred Water Lions swam out of the opening portal and the forming water vortex.
Each of them had a golden screen in front of their face that they checked with mixed feelings.

They had all joined the Lion System as that was the requirement Kael had given them if they wanted to get out of the pocket dimension.
As for Kael, the one responsible for so many powerful Water Lions and Lionesses joining the Lion System…
The portal opened to its fullest, getting wider than it had been before.
The water lions quickly swam away as they noticed the whirlpool getting extremely violent.
The edges of the portal cracked and shattered as it was stretched to its absolute limit. Space vibrated terribly as the portal forcefully stabilized so that the entity beyond could fully cross over.
First, it was a red tip, and then the rest of the body gradually ascended out of the portal.
Before the eyes of those Water Lions who had chosen to stay to watch as well as the other aquatic creatures nearby, the vessel rose out of the portal, bringing with it an immense pressure that caused the sea to churn and the water to boil.
The whirlpool struggled to maintain its stability and integrity as the magic runes, hover engines, and magic thrusters clashed with the moving water molecules of the sea.
This was none other than the Iron Blood Shuttle, swimming out of the lake within the pocket dimension and out into the main world in a vertical position.
Eventually, the whole one-kilometer-long red and black shuttle flew out of the portal, the waters of the lake dripping off its edges and giving the object a majestic sight.
Like an ancient beast rising out of its slumber, the Iron Blood Shuttle began to turn, attempting to set itself straight and face a certain direction.
The shuttle groaned, and the water below was pressed down as gravity began to act weirdly.
After what seemed like an eternity, yet an instant, the Iron Blood Shuttle finally assumed its horizontal flying stance and it now faced the direction of Paradise Beach.
The magic runes on different parts of its body, the eight hover engines that had been attached at optimal positions, and the thrusters, all burst with power.
The portal shrank and faded away, allowing the spinning water vortex to collapse on itself.
The shuttle moved, accelerating as it moved toward the direction of Paradise Beach.
Within the command bridge, Kael sat on the high cushion with a serious look on his face. His faintly glowing golden eyes stared at the dozen screens arranged above the control panels of the bridge.
His nose twitched slightly, his ears turned, and his senses picked up something.
'Conquering Essence?' Kael thought to himself as his eyes narrowed.
He could sense a very faint aura of Conquering Essence coming from that direction. It was so faint that it was almost imperceptible to him.
He only picked up the familiar signal after the Iron Blood Shuttle started moving in that direction.
'Eidel, Ruda, could it be…' Kael thought but he couldn't be sure.
His telepathy reached out into the systems of the shuttle, commanding it to increase its speed.
The Iron Blood Shuttle did as its master requested, pushing forward above the sea and releasing pressure upon all the creatures it flew over.
The birds in the sky rushed to fly away, some creatures could even recognize that his vessel was similar to another vessel that had been here not long ago.
Chloe stood behind the screens with her hazel eyes scanning the images with intense focus. This focus was required since they weren't the only ones with a combat-ready shuttle on this planet.
As the shuttle got closer to its destination, Kael's frown deepened. He could sense it clearly now, Conquering Essence.
Kael had been wondering how where he could absorb Conquering Essence from, the answer to his questions lay on the beach.
