Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 191: Left To Fate
Kael looked back to see a tall, slim man standing not too far behind him. There were a few meters in between them but Kael had a feeling that this distance was still too close for comfort.
"Who are you?" Kael asked. He had just been ready to scroll through the memories he had extracted from the octopus. But now, that had to be put on hold as this person standing in front of him was exuding a very dangerous aura.
Tier 4.
This blonde-haired man was exuding the aura equivalent to a tier 4 wolf or lion, it was hard to tell.
Cheetahs had their own tier 4 rank that was less powerful than tier 4 lions but slightly more powerful than a tier 4 wolf.
"Tell me, how is it possible that I felt you use the power of electricity, but I can also sense spiritual energy from you?" The tall, slim man asked with genuine curiosity.
"And I have seen you with wings before, where are they now?" He said again.
Previously, at the beach, he had seen Kael and Chloe fly off with visible wings and he assumed Kael was an Air user, he didn't put it to heart.
Now, Kael had put away his wings and since he wasn't truly an Air Lion, the wings simply sank into his body, disappearing from sight.
"Who are you?" Kael asked again, with a frown slowly coming over his face.
"Oh, my name is Zed," Zed hurriedly put his hands up in an act of surrender, "I mean no harm, not yet," Zed said with a sly smile.
'Zed,' Kael thought to himself, this was one of the leaders of the Paradise Beach settlement. He had expected at least one of them to be here in this pocket dimension.
'But aren't they two? Doesn't he have a brother?' Kael asked himself as his expression became grim.
"That's a tier 4 cheetah, I suggest we transform to preserve our energy," Chloe said privately to Kael. Kael had not yet confirmed her words when Chloe had already fully changed into her humanoid form.
A grey long-sleeved shirt and tight black leather leggings appeared over her body to cover her nakedness.
Unfortunately, Chloe didn't think well about what she had just done. The appearance of her clothes got Zed's full attention now.
"You, you're from that metal flying thing," Zed said, not a question but a statement of fact.
Kael sighed, already knowing that things would get messy soon.
Within a second, his body shifted and he took in his humanoid form. Golden eyes, deep blonde hair, a long golden tail, and a set of metallic gold sharp fingernails and toenails.
"Impressive," Zed said, admiring the burly muscles on Kael's chest and arms. He himself had always tried to be buff and look like a tanky figure but he just couldn't.
His biology as a cheetah made it almost impossible for him to build muscle that wasn't contributing to his speed.
*CRACK CRACK BOOM!*
Kael was still thinking of how to get away from this Zed when something else broke the sound barrier while heading towards them.
A strong wind blew Kael and Chloe's hair backward and if they weren't so strong, they would have been blown away.
"Damn, I'll never get used to that," Aeon said as he stumbled forward by two steps after Zod came to a sudden halt beside his brother, Zod.
Aaron was not as strong as his father but his weight was immense, he only moved a single step forward before the ground cracked and gave way for his feet to sink in. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Zod removed his palm from the backs of the father and son duo.
Kael's expression darkened as he saw the three new arrivals. This was beyond bad, this was just bad luck.
Zed and Zod were both tier 4 cheetahs, the tall and large grey-skinned man also had a power level similar to the cheetahs.
The weakest was Aaron who one could say was similar to a tier 3 lion, but Kael could sense something familiar in this particular one.
It was something he also sensed in himself.
Aaron was not just at that power level, he seemed to be in-between. Just as Kael was now in between tier 3 and tier 4, so was Aaron.
Except, Kael did not know the power structure of the sharks, he could only feel that Aaron was of similar strength to him.
"Look Zod, another lion," Zed said as he folded his arms to his chest, confidence oozing from every part of his body.
"Hmm," Zod looked at the fallen octopus close to Kael and Chloe, it was the only octopus that was still alive among the rest.
Currently, the octopus was twitching and its two eyes gazed at the sky, empty and lacking awareness.
"He looks like he just had his memories extracted, brother, don't you think?" Zed said, his eyes brightened and his smile widened. He seemed to be intentionally trying to cause a fight.
"It indeed looks like such, one of Harath's siblings had suffered the same fate at the hands of those spiders," Zod nodded while maintaining his serious expression.
"Little lion, why don't you tell us what you found out, and we'll let you go," Aeon said. He was probably the most reasonable among the group, maybe more reasonable than Zod.
"No father, all these lions have been acting strange. They were the only ones to receive a signal from this place, we have to…" Aaron was saying but was forced to shut up after his father gave him a nasty side-eye.
Aaron grumbled but didn't say anything more than that.
Kael and Chloe could already perceive the strong stench of lion blood coming from them, Aaron in particular seemed to have bathed in lion blood before showing up here.
There was still a bit of dried-up lion blood caked around his shoulders that hadn't come off from moving at such speed.
"You," Zod said as he turned to Chloe, the only clothes humanoid with black wings behind her, "You're from that flying vessel, you must know what is going on here,"
Chloe frowned, it seemed her group had already been spotted at some point. Xu Ying and the rest had not exactly cared much about being stealthy, so what if the savage beasts saw them, they didn't care.
"Look at his nails, you're a metal user like me?" Aaron asked as he took a step forward. He could see the golden fingernails on Kael's fingers and was intrigued.
"No, he's not," Zed said, "I saw him use spirit energy. Previously, we saw him with wings. What are those two vines doing around here? They have the same aura he has…"
Zed didn't need to finish his words before the implications settled into their minds.
Chloe's frown deepened.
Kael now relaxed his face into one of indifference, what was meant to be would be. He guessed that this was a side effect of no longer having the power of luck and fortune on his side.
Fate now did whatever it wanted with him.
There was silence between the six of them as they stared down at each other.
Aaron could no longer help it, "You have more than one power?" He asked, taking more steps closer until he was dangerously close to Kael.
Now, he stood right in front of Kael. Kael was close to seven feet or two meters in height and Aaron was taller than him by a few inches.
Kael looked up to gaze into the eyes of this man. Aaron wasn't smiling, not at all, but his upper and lower row of silvery metal teeth could be seen clearly.
"What a strange coincidence, we were just talking about strange creatures who could use different powers at the same time.
It's been a hot debate, I believe that it's possible, we just don't know how to do it,"
Aaron spoke with a calmness that made it look like he was struggling not to overreact.
"So, it turns out that you are one of those strange creatures that can use more than one power l.
Tell me, how do you do it?"
Aaron leaned down slightly so that Kael could feel his erratic breathing on his face. Kael narrowed his eyes in response, not responding.
"Listen to me, I have killed many lions on my way here, you're not much different from them.
You guys are quite defiant, that's a compliment. But that doesn't stop me from killing them.
However, if you tell me what I need to know, we'll let you and your consort go, I promise you that,"
Kael still didn't respond, he waited. He knew that even if he said anything, these guys would still kill him while trying to extract the information he got from the octopus.
*Sigh*
Aaron sighed.
He reached up to place his large hand on Kael's shoulder.
However,
just as his palm touched Kael's shoulder, a flaming fist shot up from Kael's right arm and connected directly with Aaron's face.
