Chapter 748: Chapter 748: He is Song Yu

"Back then, I was filled with hope, wanting to work hard and live a good life with you, wanting to make sure you have a comfortable life, and not have to suffer. I thought that this would make you change your heart. But little did I know, you’re a heartless snake, and it’s okay if you didn’t want to, but to collude with your uncle to sell me off."

He vented the anger that had built up over the years from all the hardships he had suffered. "Si Xiaohui, even if I, Song Yu, am worthless, I never did you wrong, did I? Without you, I could have spent my life calmly and respectfully teaching in the countryside. You’ve ruined me, and yet you live without remorse. Do you know how I got through these years? I could only sleep for four to five hours a day, ate worse than a pig or a dog, was tortured until I was no longer human. I was sold to several black factories, and in the end, when they saw I was of no use, they wanted to kill me. If I hadn’t found a way to escape, my family wouldn’t even have found my ashes. Si Xiaohui, you’ve made my life miserable."

During these years of working in the black factory, he wished for death every moment. It was hatred that kept him going until now.

All he wanted was to take revenge on Si Xiaohui and Si Weimin. Now, with Si Weimin in jail, but Si Xiaohui still free, he had to get back at Si Xiaohui to vent his hatred.

Si Xiaohui was terrified, tears streaming down her face. "Wu... Song Yu, I know I was wrong. But, I didn’t mean to harm you back then. I thought Si Weimin was trying to find you a job, at most he would beat you up a bit. I never imagined he would sell you off. If anyone’s to blame, it’s him. He’s always been a big villain, he’s been involved in human trafficking before, and sold off many people."

Song Yu growled, grinding his teeth: "No wonder you’re so heartless and cold-hearted. You inherited Si Weimin’s evil from his bones. Don’t think I don’t know. You’re the illegitimate child of your mother and Si Weimin."

Upon hearing this, both Yu Shiya and Tong Yue were shocked, their eyes wide open. They finally understood Song Yu’s identity, but what surprised them more was that Si Xiaohui and Si Chen were not siblings. No wonder the two had nothing in common.

The thing Si Xiaohui hated to be reminded of was laid bare by Song Yu. She felt shame that she couldn’t bear, but was too furious to reply, crying out: "This is all the fault of the previous generation, it has nothing to do with me. I didn’t want it to be like this. Their dirty deeds brought me into this world, what has it got to do with me?"

"Your birth has nothing to do with you, but what about all the bad things you’ve done over the years? Does that have nothing to do with you too? Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been up to all these years, you’re nothing more than a whore..."

Song Yu did not spare Si Xiaohui any dignity, his mouth spitting out obscenities. Yu Shiya and Tong Yue were shocked, their eyes growing wider, afraid that Song Yu would go crazy and kill everyone.

Meanwhile, Si Jun, having received the news, was standing solemnly in the milk tea shop. He had initially intended to visit Yu Shiya, but upon arrival, he received a blackmail letter. After a moment’s hesitation, he decided to call the police.

As it happened, at the police station, he ran into Si Chen and Tong Yao. After exchanging a few words and learning that Yu Shiya had gone looking for Si Xiaohui before her disappearance, everyone redirected their focus to Si Xiaohui. After tracking down Si Xiaohui’s address, everyone followed the police there.

When the police broke down the door, they were stunned by the scene before them. They had guessed that this might be Si Xiaohui’s doing, but they had not expected to find another man inside, and that Si Xiaohui was now a hostage.

What surprised them even more was that the man seemed to have anticipated the police’s arrival. He sat calmly on a chair, a knife in his hand against Si Xiaohui’s neck, with Yu Shiya and Tong Yue lying on their sides.

Upon seeing that Tong Yue was unharmed, both Si Chen and Tong Yao breathed a sigh of relief. No matter what, as long as they found Yueyue, they would find a way to protect her.

Si Jun, however, was deeply worried. Seeing the blood on Yu Shiya’s clothes, her eyes met with Si Jun’s. In that exchange, she saw the distress in his eyes and felt a long-lost feeling stirring within her.

"Put down the knife and don’t harm the hostages. Whatever your demands are, you can state them." One of the officers said.

Song Yu kept quiet. He turned his gaze to Tong Yao. Their eyes met. Tong Yao spoke to Si Chen, "He’s the beggar I told you about."

At this moment, Tong Yao regretted not being more cautious. If she had been, Tong Yue would not have been kidnapped. She also had no idea what the man wanted. If it was money he was after, why kidnap Si Xiaohui?

Si Chen studied the man for a brief moment, his dangerous gaze narrowing as he said in a low voice, "He’s Song Yu."

Tong Yao’s eyes widened in surprise, her gaze locked incredulously on the man. Song Yu, however, had not expected the first person to recognize him would be Si Chen, and he gave a cold laugh.

"I never thought we would recognize each other in such a situation."

Under the dim light, Song Yu’s expression was eerie and terrifying.

Tong Yao couldn’t figure out Song Yu’s intentions, and her heart was in her throat. "Song Yu, if you have a problem, take it out on me. Don’t harm Yueyue. She’s just a child. When you disappeared, she wasn’t even born yet. The disputes between adults have nothing to do with children."

Si Chen added, "Release my daughter. If you want money, you can have it. If you want a hostage, I’ll be your hostage."

Song Yu glanced at Tong Yue, and there was a touch of softness in his cold eyes. "You don’t have to worry, I won’t harm Yueyue. I never intended to. In fact, I should thank you. Before I was sold, it was Tong Yao who offered me a bit of warmth. When I was escaping, it was you and your son who gave me the last bit of warmth. I can’t thank you enough yet."

With that, he even smiled. But this smile didn’t reach his eyes, making it unclear what he was actually thinking.

Despite his words of gratitude, he seemed like a madman to outsiders, showing no signs of being grateful.

As he laughed, he moved his hand slightly and Si Xiaohui felt a pain in her neck. She cried out, "Big brother, save me. He’s gone mad. He wants revenge, he wants to kill me."

Si Chen coldly ignored her, and instead asked Song Yu, "Since you have no intention of harming Yueyue, why did you kidnap her? She’s just a child. Your actions will traumatize her."

Song Yu retorted, "You’re wrong about that, the ones who kidnapped them were not me, but your dear sister, Si Xiaohui."

At this, Si Chen and Tong Yao immediately understood what he meant. Si Jun also breathed a sigh of relief; if this was the case, then Yu Shiya wouldn’t be in danger. However, seeing the blood on Yu Shiya’s clothes, his eyes filled with worry again.
