Reborn as Mr.CEO's Fat Wife-Chapter 809: How about I start supporting you from today?
Chapter 809: Chapter 809: How about I start supporting you from today?
Brandon Piers asked without urgency, simply looking at Abigail as he waited for her answer.
It took a while before Abigail felt her mind clear, "Can I not answer today?"
"What? Are you really considering those four men?" Brandon immediately became alert upon hearing this, his mood particularly sour when he thought of the neighbor.
Abigail thought seriously for a moment, "Not really."
Her answer itself was not a problem, but the fact that she took it so seriously made Brandon very dissatisfied.
He looked into Abigail’s eyes, "Do you still have him in your heart?"
Abigail was taken aback by the question, "Who?"
Brandon choked on the question, outraged that she could still ask "who," remembering how he had been guarding against Jeffrey Foster like guarding against wolves, which made him feel very suffocated.
Seeing Brandon suddenly fall silent, Abigail, slightly stunned, guessed who he was talking about, her feelings complicated as she looked sideways at Brandon, "Did you know he was here early on?"
That time she thought she was mistaken, but it wasn’t so; the man she saw that day was indeed Jeffrey Foster.
Brandon reluctantly nodded, not wanting to lie to Abigail.
Abigail was no fool, from Jeffrey’s situation it seemed he must have moved to Rose Valley a while ago; otherwise, how would a blind man be so familiar with the neighborhood, and despite being here for so long, she had never met him face-to-face, indicating someone was intentionally preventing it.
And such a thankless, exhausting task was probably only something Brandon could do, and why he did it, Abigail could naturally guess.
Because she could guess, she looked at Brandon with a mix of helplessness and tenderness, tiptoed up to rub his head, "He’s not in my heart, don’t think too much."
Brandon brightened up, "Really?"
"Why would I lie to you." Abigail said with a smile, from the moment she recovered her memory in Durin, she was very clear that there was no longer any possibility between her and Jeffrey Foster, and her heart had long been filled by the man before her, and it still was.
Abigail didn’t know what other people’s relationships were like, she seemed to fall in love slower than others, but once she did, she would not change easily.
Brandon felt reassured, reached out to embrace Abigail’s waist, and lifted her up a bit so he could look more clearly into Abigail’s eyes.
Abigail did not resist, letting Brandon stare at her unabashedly, her heart softened.
Brandon looking into Abigail’s eyes suddenly laughed, thinking about how silly and humorous he was in this period because of Jeffrey Foster, he lowered his head to rub his nose against Abigail’s, "Abigail, do you think I am distrustful or childish for guarding you against meeting Jeffrey these days?"
"Not at all, I know what you were worried about, I feel the same. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been unhappy all day today because of a young girl’s manipulation." Hearing Brandon’s words, Abigail explained with a light laugh, her choked feelings from the day clearing completely, and delight filled the depths of her eyes as she looked at Brandon.
Listening to this, Brandon embraced her tighter, "It’s my fault for not spotting her little tricks."
"This isn’t your fault, but I still remember that you hid your collaboration with Luke Scout from me and made me worry for a long time," Abigail looked at Brandon Piers’s face, thankfully not entirely swept away by emotions.
"I realize my mistake now. Abigail, could you give me a chance to make up for my errors with the rest of my life?" Brandon Piers didn’t avoid admitting his past actions which, although intended for Abigail’s good, indeed failed to consider her feelings. Now seizing the opportunity to apologize, he also tried to salvage his marriage proposal planned for tonight.
Abigail glared at Brandon, "You’re imagining it beautifully, making up for it with the rest of your life? It seems more like you want to trap me forever."
"Would you be willing then?" Brandon said, pulling out the engagement ring from his pants pocket, which he hadn’t gotten the chance to give away today.
Watching his smooth actions, as if premeditated, Abigail slightly chuckled but didn’t immediately take it.
Although Brandon’s posture was calm and his movements practiced, his heart was extremely nervous. After waiting a while without Abigail reaching for the ring, his expression grew even tenser; the casual look on his face turned into uncontrollable disappointment. Just as he was about to find an excuse to keep trying next time, Abigail suddenly stretched out her hand towards him.
Taken aback by this turn of events, Brandon Piers stared blankly at Abigail, somewhat confused about what she meant.
Abigail, seeing the usually clever man looking quite clueless at the moment, chuckled and shook her head, "Aren’t you going to put it on for me?"
This time, Brandon realized Abigail had agreed and hurriedly picked up the ring to put on her finger, his nervousness causing him to fumble a bit before securing it.
Once the ring was on, Abigail stretched out her finger, the pink stone shimmering brilliantly, dazzling her eyes and making her involuntary recall the clichéd advertising tagline, "Creating a lifetime’s promise, enjoying eternal love."
Abigail didn’t know what others felt when being proposed to, but today, although her emotions had been up and down, she eventually got what she wished for. The mixture of sweetness and affection that surged from her heart made her fall irresistibly in love with the man in front of her, and she dreamt of their future life together.
This was an emotion she had never experienced in her last life up until the age of twenty-eight, yet now, all because of this man, she possessed it all.
All the sourness and uneasiness that loomed in her heart today were completely smoothed out, leaving her heart filled only with the man before her.
"Do you like it?" seeing Abigail staring blankly at the ring, Brandon gently asked.
Abigail nodded, "Yes, I like it." Especially like it.
Brandon, having been anxious, finally relaxed, holding Abigail in the vast room. He hadn’t expected that his long preparation, inviting all of Abigail’s closest family and friends to Rose Valley, fully geared up for a perfect proposal and to have their happiness witnessed, would turn into such a mess. However, unexpectedly on this empty villa night, his proposal succeeded.
This was not as he had planned, but his joy was now doubled, and after hearing her say she liked it, he lifted her up and spun around in circles.
Abigail, unprepared, shrieked as she was nearly dizzy, lightly patting Brandon Piers’s shoulder, "Put me down quickly."
"Are you happy, Abigail? I’m so happy," Brandon asked loudly, his chest bubbling with uncontainable joy, not letting her go but instead asking loudly.
Abigail, infected by Brandon’s happiness, looked down at the man’s extremely handsome face and couldn’t help but start laughing along with him in a dizzy spell, feeling supreme joy.
The result was that Brandon himself got dizzy from spinning, and together with Abigail, they both fell onto the sofa, then just looked at each other and giggled foolishly.
And just like that, they somehow started to kiss.
Earlier, Abigail had smelled a whiff of alcohol on Brandon, and now kissing him, she realized he indeed had drunk quite a lot tonight; their lips and teeth tinged with the bitterness of red wine, but behind the bitterness, there was intoxicating sweetness.
Kissing and kissing, Abigail felt dizzy herself, letting the man hold her and kiss her recklessly in the night.
But in the middle of the kiss, Brandon suddenly brought up the proposal ceremony he arranged, suddenly sat up holding Abigail, "Abigail, let’s go watch the fireworks."
Abigail, dazed by the kisses, felt a faint response from her body that had been neglected for months, and was somewhat puzzled by Brandon’s words, but the man had already gotten up and was pulling her upstairs.
The two made their way to the third floor of the villa, and in the deep of night, the entire steel city seemed to have fallen asleep. Abigail turned her head towards Brandon, "Are you drunk?"
She remembered that the fireworks had already been set off, and besides, hadn’t Kennan Max and the others already left?
But before Abigail could voice her query, Brandon suddenly sat down, took off the ring-shaped device in his hand, and quickly turned it into a miniature computer, then Abigail saw the entire circuit of Rose Valley being controlled. The next moment, the lights of the entire neighborhood went out.
Abigail’s mouth slightly opened, "What did you do?"
Brandon didn’t immediately answer her question, his hands still moving swiftly on the keyboard, then suddenly the thumping sound resounded nearby, followed by the colorful fireworks blooming in the pitch-black city sky, stunningly beautiful and colorful.
The previously restless neighborhood quieted down as well, everyone together gazing in the direction of the blooming fireworks, admiring the gorgeous colors in the pure blackness.
After the fireworks ended, the lights in the neighborhood gradually turned back on, but Abigail and Brandon remained still.
"Do you like it?" After a while of silence, Brandon’s voice sounded mysteriously husky, carrying a seductive sexiness in this rich night.
Abigail nodded, she always thought these things were extravagant and childish, but she found that every time Brandon did these for her, she was very happy.
But after nodding, Abigail realized they were sitting in the dark on the third floor, and that the man might not have seen her nod, so she added, "I really like it."
Brandon himself also felt that these romantic actions were somewhat clichéd, fitting a TV drama tyrant CEO’s tackiness, but he had never pursued girls before, couldn’t think of anything better or more sophisticated, so he had to listen to those ridiculous advisors around him, luckily this time they were somewhat useful.
The two did not immediately go downstairs, instead taking advantage of the night and started talking about the things that had happened recently, from Eva Bell’s return to the country to Joshua Piers taking over Piers, and also the things Oliver and his son did behind the scenes, for the first time Brandon told Abigail everything without reservation.
Abigail had already guessed that what Brandon did was fraught with great danger, but all were just speculations. After hearing it firsthand from Brandon, she realized how terrible the incident Piers got involved in was and knew that any slight misstep in his behavior back then could have dragged him into it.
By then, that imprisoned episode would no longer just be an act, but the actual fate of Brandon.
Fortunately, everything had passed, and they had survived the hardest times.
Abigail leaned her head on Brandon’s shoulder as she listened to him narrate everyone’s matters as if he were telling someone else’s story, beyond shock, it was mostly a feeling of relief.
"Don’t keep secrets from me in the future," Abigail muffledly spoke against Brandon’s shoulder.
Brandon held her in his arms, "Don’t worry, I will never let the company get involved in such dirty affairs again."
Abigail hummed softly and then thought of something, "Is ROSE Technologies yours?"
The subject matter was a bit large in scope, and Brandon Piers paused for a moment before responding, "Now, it’s yours."
"I don’t really understand these things, it’s useless for you to put it under my name." Brandon Piers’ response completely confirmed Abigail’s guess. She admired him, but also felt that the item was indeed useless in her hands.
However, Brandon Piers didn’t think so, "How could it be useless? In the future, you will be my boss. If I don’t follow your orders, you can kick me out of the company."
Abigail raised her eyebrows upon hearing this, finding the man’s reasoning somewhat valid, and then asked, "Have you transferred all your assets to me?"
"I still have the shares in Piers Corporation. If you want, after everything here stabilizes, I can transfer them to you." Brandon thought Abigail was feeling that he wasn’t officially listed in ROSE Technology yet and not really her subordinate, and he chuckled as he added that.
Abigail didn’t mean that, but hearing Brandon Piers put it that way made her playful heart surge, "So, you mean to say you now only have those absurdly low shares in Piers Corporation left, and everything else is in my hands, which means you are now penniless?"
Brandon Piers raised his eyebrows, "...you could say that."
"Oh." Abigail nodded with deep meaning, then blurted out shockingly, "Handsome, seeing how gorgeous you are? How about letting me financially support you starting from today? Name your price."
Brandon Piers, who thought Abigail would be moved to tears by his actions, paused, "..." What was this woman’s thought process? Indeed, he shouldn’t have let her hang out with young girls too much; she might have been led astray.
Sigh!
Although Brandon internally critiqued her, faced with Abigail’s sparkling eyes, he found himself unable to refuse outright, and blurted out without thinking, "How do you want to support me?"
"I want to support both your body and your heart, all included." Abigail was quite the actor.
Brandon Piers looked at the proudly aloof woman in his arms, "Is that so? Then, sugar mama, would you like to inspect the merchandise first?"
Abigail raised her eyebrows, inspect the merchandise?
"Yes, inspect the merchandise. Without checking, how would you know how my body is, whether it can satisfy your needs? And without checking, how would you know... whether you truly have feelings for me?" Brandon Piers intentionally lowered his voice and whispered in Abigail’s ear towards the end.
Abigail initially intended to teasingly flirt with Brandon, but ended up being so tantalized by the man that her legs went weak. She pushed Brandon away and stood up, only for him to follow closely behind her, speaking with a tone of lament, "Sugar mama, you plan to check the merchandise now? Then let’s go."
Abigail, just reaching the stairway, almost tripped, turned her head and glared at Brandon Piers, "I should go back now. Otherwise, Teddy might wake up and cry when he can’t find me."
But Brandon Piers didn’t plan to let her go tonight. He reached out and pulled her back into his arms, "Don’t worry, he won’t cry with Aunt Claudia there, but it’s different for me, I will really cry."
Abigail, "..." Why did she feel like she was tricked?
Although Brandon Piers’s act was exaggerated, Abigail was willing to be fooled.
The two intertwined even before they entered the bedroom, having been busy and harbouring unresolved frustration for nearly three months, the relaxation and intense feelings took over. Once in the bedroom, they could no longer maintain decorum, and Brandon Piers, clutching Abigail’s waist, sought to reclaim all those days he had missed.
Inspect the merchandise? Completely satisfied!
