Reborn as Mr.CEO's Fat Wife-Chapter 580: Tracing Abigail’s Shadow
Chapter 580: Chapter 580: Tracing Abigail’s Shadow
Abigail felt something was odd. She always felt Juliet’s and her husband’s relationship dynamic was strange. But then she thought about her own relationship with her brother, which wasn’t much better, and didn’t give it much thought.
She reached out and hugged Teddy. The little guy started squirming in her arms, and Abigail did not understand why.
But Juliet, who had been with Teddy for the past three days, understood the gesture. "He’s trying to go outside."
Abigail was curious. "Outside?"
"Yes, he likes being outside," Juliet said with a smile. "I heard from Aunt Claudia that when they’re at Moon Lake Manor, as long as it’s not windy or rainy, he can stay outside all day."
"Should we go out?" Abigail looked at Juliet for approval.
"Sure." The weather was nice today. With the farm’s beautiful scenery and Kiyoko accompanying them, Juliet wasn’t worried about Teddy crying. She grabbed a few of Teddy’s things and followed Abigail downstairs.
It wasn’t until they left the villa that Juliet remembered to inform Aunt Claudia. She quickly asked a servant to relay the message.
Aunt Claudia had taken some medicine and fallen asleep earlier in the morning. When she finally woke up, she was about to go see Teddy but then heard that Juliet and the neighbor’s Miss Kiyoko were taking him out to play. She walked to the third-floor balcony and called out, "Juliet, is Teddy behaving? Make sure you’re accompanied by more people."
"Don’t worry, Miss Kiyoko and I will take good care of him," Juliet answered with a smile up at Aunt Claudia.
Aunt Claudia, knowing Teddy’s temperament, looked down into the courtyard at the Miss Kiyoko Juliet mentioned. Claudia was elderly and not in good health, so her vision wasn’t great. She saw a slender girl with thick black hair; her features weren’t clear, but her skin seemed a bit dark.
Abigail caught Aunt Claudia’s gaze and smiled, nodding.
Aunt Claudia waved at them but couldn’t help mutter, "Our Abigail also has such beautiful hair. I wonder if the second young master has found her yet."
On the island.
Alex was excited. "The other side could confirm that they had seen Jeffrey Foster. He said Jeffrey was living on the island and had seen him several times. He was with a woman, possibly his wife, though the observer had only closely seen the man."
"When was the last time they saw him?" Brandon Piers asked, barely containing his excitement.
"Just three days ago. They should still be on the island. I’ve asked someone to check the accommodation situation on the island, though the hotel isn’t connected to the internet, so it might take a while. Don’t worry, as long as they’re here, we’ll find them," Alex said, sharing in Brandon’s happiness at finally having a lead on Abigail.
"Good." Brandon responded with a calm demeanor, though inside he was anything but calm.
Perhaps tonight, he would finally see Abigail.
Just thinking about it made Brandon’s heart tremble with anticipation.
Three months. It had been three whole months. If they couldn’t find any information soon, he would have started doubting his own judgment.
"Notify several people to guard all the docks." Suppressing his intense emotions, Brandon worked hard to remain calm as he gave the order.
Alex immediately went to work.
After Alex left, Brandon looked out at the small island. Being in a foreign country made certain actions more complicated.
Moreover, although it was labeled a private island, due to the high construction costs, the island’s owner kept regulations rather lax. Guests didn’t need any documents to stay, so checking hotel registrations and nearby villa rentals were useless; they had to search one by one. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Thankfully, the island wasn’t large. It wouldn’t be too difficult to comb through it in two or three days.
With the confirmed lead, Brandon no longer felt the previous anxiety. His sole focus now was on thoroughly searching the island.
He even started imagining the moment he would see Abigail. What would he say to her? Apologize first, perhaps. Would she forgive him?
And if she had indeed been hypnotized, how could he convince her to trust him again?
Thinking about this scenario, Brandon realized it might be quite tricky. He couldn’t help but mutter to himself, "Abigail, you’d better remember me, or else."
...
On the farm.
"Achoo..." Abigail suddenly sneezed.
"Are you okay?" Juliet turned her head to ask.
Abigail waved her hand at Juliet. "I’m fine. My nose just itched suddenly. You go after them."
Juliet nodded quickly and jogged away.
Abigail looked at the scene not far away and couldn’t help but cover her face. She saw Teddy crawling rapidly across the lawn, chasing after a big white goose. The big white goose, Carney, was chasing its little master, Bob.
The scene was really... one mischievous kid meeting another.
The weather was great today. When they came out, Abigail and Juliet had especially brought a soft blanket, placing it in the sunniest spot on the farm. It was supposed to be just the two of them with Teddy. But Bob, who had spotted them, walked over slowly, leading the big white goose.
Teddy had never seen such an interesting creature before. He was instantly fascinated and immediately grabbed the goose’s tail.
A proud species like the big white goose couldn’t endure such disrespect from a human, and it instinctively retaliated against Teddy.
Thankfully, Abigail was quick enough to pull Teddy into her arms. But Bob, displeased with Abigail holding the little stranger, ran up to confront Teddy, only to be tripped by the big white goose. It might have just been a stumble.
However, eight-year-old Bob’s gentlemanly pride was very strong, especially in front of a beautiful lady. So, he grabbed the goose’s tail to steady himself.
The goose’s tail was like a dragon’s reverse scale. The previous tug had already stirred its anger, and Bob’s pull only fueled its rage. The goose turned and pecked Bob on his butt.
Although Bob was Carney’s owner, he had been pecked many times before and knew the power of Carney’s beak. He quickly forgot about Abigail and turned to run.
Teddy, the instigator, laughed gleefully and squirmed out of Abigail’s arms to chase after the goose, leading to the current situation.
Worried about Teddy getting hurt, Abigail followed Juliet in the chase.
When the two of them finally intercepted the trio, Abigail saw that Bob and the goose were okay. However, Teddy, dressed in a white cotton onesie, had turned into a little green person.
Abigail picked up the little guy. He pointed towards Carney and exclaimed, "Goose, goose, goose... goose, goose, goose..."
"Alright, we know it’s a goose. Who on earth gave you the name ’Teddy’? It suits you so well." Abigail complained, though her actions were tender as she rubbed her cheek against Teddy’s.
But the little one also rubbed his face into her embrace.
Abigail looked down and saw her light-colored coat now covered in green grass stains.
Teddy continued happily, "Goose, goose..."
Abigail thought to herself, "If this kid were mine, I’d give him a spanking!"
