BOOM! BANG! BOOM!

As Ye Chen walked deeper, the lightning became violent, striking the ground with a destructive aura. There were even a few times when the lightning brushed past him by a few centimeters.

However, Ye Chen did not even flinch at this and continued walking further.

BOOM! BANG! BOOM!

It did not take too long and Ye Chen arrived at the start of the hanging bridge made by metal chains and wood.

Because of the dark clouds, the view in front of him was still unclear; however, he could tell there was a steep ravine below. If he fell down, the chances of him not coming back were high, even with all of his strength.

But he still did not hesitate and stepped on the hanging bridge, which swayed with the wind.

BANG! Whoosh! BOOM!

As soon as Ye Chen stepped further, the lightning and wind got even more violent, as if they were not happy at his arrival.

"Humph, like you can stop me." Ye Chen snorted with disdain and continued forward.

His destination was ahead and that was a towering stone pillar covered in swirling dark clouds.

BANG! BOOM! WHOOSH!

The lightning and wind became more fierce, trying to break the hanging bridge. However, no matter how hard they tried, it was useless since the bridge was made to withstand such a situation.

The lightning did try to strike Ye Chen; however, since it was not tribulation lightning, it was easy to handle with his strength.

ROOOAAARR!

Ye Chen had not even crossed half of the bridge when a deafening roar that could shake the whole world rang out.

In that instant the black clouds swirled more fiercely and sent hundreds of lightning strikes flying towards Ye Chen.

Watching this, Ye Chen sneered and flicked his sleeves.

Boom! Bang! Boom!

Hundreds of phantom swords materialized before directing clashes against the lightning strikes.

Ye Chen, meanwhile, did not stop; he continued to walk forward unhesitatingly and finally arrived on top of the massive stone pillar.

There was nothing here except a man-made platform and a long, pitch-black spear inserted in the middle.

WHOOSH!

As soon as Ye Chen arrived on top of the stone pillar, the black spear trembled and erupted with a dark mist.

"A lowly spiritual mountain has the audacity to stand before me?! Begone, before I reduce you to dust!"

A furious voice echoed through the void as the dark mist twisted into a long dragon. Its eyes glowing violet and aura deep enough to suppress heavenly laws.

"Spiritual Mountain? Are you sure I am a pure human?" Ye Chen was stunned and replied calmly.

"Hmph! Even if I sleep countless eons, I can still remember the aura of you dirty creatures! You all destroyed the balance of the world and started the 'Dao War!' I will never forget what you did!" the black dragon roared loudly.

Hearing him, Ye Chen was stunned once again. One had to know that he not only had a hidden inscription drawn between his eyebrows but also had a divine cultivation technique that hid his aura.

Even if anyone knew there was an inscription drawn secretly, they wouldn't care too much, as it looked and worked exactly like a life-saving inscription. If there was a way to find out, then it was to forcefully erase the inscription.

Which clearly anyone had yet to do. This meant the dragon recognized him because of his aura but that was also not possible unless Ye Chen used any techniques related to spiritual mountain.

His human body was, after all, different, and even if there was some aura, one could also possess this as long as they lived or cultivated for a long time on a spiritual mountain.

"My aura is of a human so don't spout nonsense. Better say you just don't want me to give me the inheritance," Ye Chen stated with a sharp look.

"Hahaha! Do you really think that tiny trick of yours can stop me from sensing who you really are? Then you are really naive! Hahaha!" The dragon burst out laughing then suddenly its violet eyes illuminated.

It was so fast that Ye Chen did not have any time to act and when he acted, it was already late.

"Now what excuse are you going to give me?" The dragon inquired, looking at Ye Chen with a playful look.

There was no change in Ye Chen but behind him, a projection of a mountain appeared from his shadows. Wasn't it his real body?

Seeing this, Ye Chen was shocked; he did not expect there would be such a way to find his real identity. However, he was still calm and looked at the dragon.

"I came here for the inheritance, and I think that spear is the thing I am looking for, right?" he said, his lips curling into a smile.

Hearing him, the dragon's eyes flashed with a cold look.

"Move one step and you die!"

"Really? I am now more eager to try."

Ye Chen chuckled lightly and with a swoosh, he disappeared.

"Hmph! If you think I won't see through your tricks, then you are really a fool," the dragon snorted with disdain and launched three dark blades with a terrifying aura.

"A fool? Are you sure you are not looking into a mirror?" Ye Chen responded as the golden symbol of spiritual mountain between his eyes lit up with brilliance.

"Stop!!!" The dragon roared furiously, knowing what he was up to.

But it was too late.

SWOOSH!

A terrifying aura descended from the heavens, locking on to the black dragon.

"Stop! Stop! Stop! I won't attack you, right? But please stop this thing first!" The Black Dragon spoke.

In that instant its terrifying aura disappeared along with the black mist, which revealed its true color— Azure.

Ye Chen hesitated a little, wondering if he should kill this thing or not. He had long known that this was just a soul and although he was not strong enough to kill it, there was a way. It's just he had to pay the price of a divine ability.

Furthermore, his soul will also be weakened.

"Look, your divine ability is everything and even linked to your soul, so there is no need to be this desperate, right? Think about what humans will do if they find you don't have any divine ability; they will certainly feed you to another spiritual mountain," the Azure Dragon spoke.

It had not expected a spiritual mountain to use their most treasured thing to kill it.

It's a pity the dragon did not know Ye Chen's five divine abilities; although losing one will be painful, there won't be a big problem. Not to mention, as long as he hunts down a few spiritual mountains, he can get divine ability and even evolve the one he has.

"T-this, can you calm down, boy? Why risk your life over me? You want that 'Heavenly Spear,' right? Then take it." The Azure Dragon spoke, giving away the spear as if it was nothing.

Clearly it was afraid to die.

Watching the cowardly Azure Dragon, Ye Chen was speechless. Even though it was just a soul, the Azure Dragon was a divine beast everyone knew. How can it be so cowardly?

"Are you really an Azure Dragon?" Ye Chen inquired with a doubt.

Hearing him, the Azure Dragon forgot about its current predicament and with a proud look, it answered.

"I am the Azure Dragon, one of the divine beasts who shook the whole world for countless epochs. Many trembled in fear just after hearing my name. At peak I even had millions of wives, with them—"

"You want to die?"

"Ahem! Ahem! I apologize for that, but I am really an Azure Dragon."

The dragon replied.

However, Ye Chen was still doubtful. The only reason he did not conclude it was fake was because of the aura of heavenly laws around it and the seventh saint. There was no way a fake one would be able to do this and even be treated as the final trial by the seventh saint.

"Umm, let me tell you a secret: I am an Azure Dragon but not the divine one. Well, I am his child," the dragon explained further.

"That make sense." Now Ye Chen understood why it was cowardly.

The Azure Dragon could not help but want to cry at his reaction.

"Tell me why you are here and what this trial was?" Ye Chen questioned.

The Azure Dragon understood there was no way to get out alive unless it told the truth, so it started speaking everything it knew.

Honestly, even the Azure Dragon didn't know why it was in this place. All it remembered was its father sealing it within the Heavenly Spear—then, the Seventh Saint took the spear and left it at this platform, never to return.

There were a few more things it knew, such as it was not only the one who was sealed; there were four more divine beasts, and they all possessed heaven-defying knowledge and techniques from their race.

It's just that the four of the divine beasts ran out, leaving the Azure Dragon alone, which was the weakest and could not break the seal.
