Rebirth: I Am Not the Movie Queen This Time-Chapter 84: Vitality
Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Vitality
Now that she had a place to stay and a small fortune in her passbook, she felt much more at ease, no longer having to depend on others for food, clothing, shelter, and transportation like she did in her previous life, which had left her feeling insecure and inferior, rendering her sensitive and irritable.
By the time she settled into her new place, it was time for the first university to start the school year.
She quickly made herself breakfast in the morning, and after eating, she took her admission letter and other documents and headed to school.
This was Wan Chu’er’s first time going to college, and inside she felt a bit excited.
At the new student registration point, the senior students receiving them were very enthusiastic, and seeing that Wan Chu’er was pretty, she received even better treatment. She quickly completed all the procedures and was assigned a dormitory.
A tall male student said with a smile, "Where’s your luggage, junior sister? I’ll take you to the dorm."
Wan Chu’er thanked him first, then asked, "Do I have to stay in the dormitory? I didn’t bring my luggage today."
The male student smiled, leaned in close to Wan Chu’er with a mysterious air as if he was about to share a secret.
Being approached so closely by a stranger made Wan Chu’er instinctively resistant. She frowned, took two steps back, and then said, "If it’s not something you can say, then never mind."
Watching Wan Chu’er with her large, clear eyes, the male student blinked, thinking that she didn’t seem like a freshman from a small place. She was composed and neither humble nor arrogant.
Generally, freshers from small places, especially girls, are a lot more reserved and feel a bit nervous around their seniors.
But this girl stood with her spine straight, exuding an aloof pride, looking at you indifferently, making you hesitate to play any tricks.
The tall male student felt a bit embarrassed, and said with a laugh, "The official rule is that everyone must stay in the dorm, but after school starts, whether you live in the dorm or not, as long as no one makes a fuss about it, it’s up to you."
Wan Chu’er politely thanked him and declined his offer to lead the way, choosing instead to stroll around the campus by herself.
In fact, during the freshmen registration, the school had made thorough preparations and there were guide signs everywhere in the campus, making it easy to find any place.
Soon, Wan Chu’er found the dormitory assigned to her on the fourth floor. She decided to check out the dorm environment first before deciding what to bring over.
The dormitory door was wide open, and there was nobody inside. It seemed she was the earliest to arrive.
It was a four-person room with two bunk beds. The dorm space was not large, and there were four sets of desks and chairs and a large closet for clothes and personal belongings. She estimated it would get crowded once everyone moved in.
She decided to bring some simple living supplies over and go back to her own little nest on weekends.
After checking the dorm, Wan Chu’er left.
"Mom, did you bring my laptop?" A naive female voice echoed in the empty corridor.
Three people were coming her way, the leader a girl dressed in bright clothes with a tender and pampered face.
Following her were two well-dressed middle-aged parents, each dragging two large suitcases, and they had indeed brought quite a lot of luggage.
Wan Chu’er glanced at the luggage, thinking she should bring even less. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
The girl was eating a lollipop, walking while glancing around at the dorms on both sides.
"I brought them, I brought them; they are in the suitcase. If you’re missing anything, you can go out and buy it yourself. Beijing is so big, you should be able to find anything. If you run out of money, just give Mom a call."
The girl’s mother was excited, looking at her daughter ahead with immense pride. Her daughter being admitted to the first university was indeed a face-lifting achievement for them.
But the girl seemed not to have heard her mother’s words. She looked at an open dormitory door and curled her lips slightly, saying somewhat displeased, "The condition of this dorm really isn’t that great."
"You’re here to study, not to enjoy luxuries," the girl’s father admonished her seriously. But ultimately, not wanting his daughter to endure hardship, he consoled, "Come weekend, you can go to your uncle’s house to have some good meals. If you have any laundry, you can also wash it at your uncle’s house with their washing machine."
"Right, Jiaojiao, if you crave something to eat, don’t be shy with your uncle. Let your aunt cook it for you."
"I know," the girl agreed helplessly.
The family of three, laden with big and small packages, didn’t walk side by side, but they filled the entire hallway. Chuchu realized that it was impossible to pass by them, so she stood aside at the door of a dorm room, giving way for them to pass first.
The girl caught sight of Chuchu and her eyes flashed with amazement. Then she blatantly scanned Chuchu from head to toe, and the amazement in her eyes quickly faded away as she turned her head and looked ahead.
Chuchu’s eyelids were slightly lowered, and she didn’t notice the girl’s scrutiny. Only after they had passed did Chuchu continue to walk forward.
"We’re here, this is Room 409," the girl called out from behind.
Chuchu paused in her step and her lips curled up slightly. Heh, so she is a roommate.
Leaving the dormitory building, she didn’t rush home but began to slowly stroll around the campus.
As the first university, it had a very deep foundation. Just about any scenery could be eloquently described.
The tree-lined paths, calm lake surfaces, basketball courts, library, young students riding their bicycles...
Everything in the campus appeared so fresh and natural, so endearing, to Chuchu. She took a deep breath and felt that the university campus was truly a lively and wonderful place.
Chuchu leisurely roamed through every nook and cranny of the first university. She even pushed open the door of a classroom and quietly sat in the last row for a while to soak in the atmosphere.
It wasn’t until her stomach began to growl that she left to find a place to eat.
When she was leaving the campus, she bumped into the same family of three new roommates again.
The trio was holding loads of things, seemingly having gone on a large shopping spree. Chuchu glanced at the items in their hands, then thought of the cramped dormitory, wondering if the other two roommates would also be like this.
Behind the first university was a small commercial street packed with various shops. Chuchu found a small restaurant there to settle her lunch.
The time for new students to register was two days. Chuchu only went to the school with her belongings the next afternoon.
She carried very simple items: a woven bag containing her bedding and a large suitcase with her change of clothes and some daily necessities.
The atmosphere inside Room 409 was very lively. Even standing at the door, one could hear the laughter inside.
This laughter came to an abrupt halt the moment Chuchu pushed the door open. A girl in the dormitory was doing her makeup in front of a mirror—it was Jiaojiao from yesterday. Another girl lay on the bed listening to a Walkman, and another girl with short hair was munching on snacks.
